Publisher's summary

He's a friend...with great benefits!

As far as inventor Samantha O'Connel is concerned, work is better than food, a social life - even sex. Of course, all it takes is a single phone call from Matt Wilkinson - the ridiculously hot object of her girlhood fantasies - for Sam to discover even she has some naughty needs that won't be ignored.

Sam's biggest challenge is that while Matt is just as much a workaholic as she is, he's also a wealthy, sexy bachelor who can have any woman he wants. With the help of the cutting-edge "smart" apartment she designed, Sam might just be able to get deliciously and nakedly close to Matt. Close enough to show him that this nerdy brainiac can be his every fantasy - even if it's only for one blazingly hot night.

Oh, what a night!

Some guys look like trouble from the start. From where Cady Egerton is sitting, Patton Ryan is just the right kind of trouble. She doesn't want a gentleman - she wants him. A man meant for hot, passionate sex. Yep, Patton is just the guy to give her one heck of a night to remember.

Cady did not expect her delectable one-night hookup to show up at her best friend's engagement party - or that he'd be the best man. Now all they have in common is a serious case of lust and a desire to break up their friends' whirlwind wedding. But every minute they don't spend plotting together is bound to be nothing but pure, naked trouble.

Nice and sexy, an enjoyable evening of listening.

My review is based on just Seducing the Best Man as I skipped over One Blazing Night. I listened to this as part of a reading challenge for the 2021 Coastal Magic Convention which will be virtual in February 2021. Sasha Summers will be a featured author so I wanted to read or listen to at least one of her books.

I've only listened to one other book performed by Alexander Cendese and that was a male/male story (which is my preferred genre). I think he did a pretty good job with this one but I wasn't crazy about his female voices. Still, I prefer listening to a male narrator do a female voice vs. a female narrator doing a male one, so I'm glad this book had a male narrator.

Overall, this was a really enjoyable (and hot) book. Neither Cady nor Patton is interested in a serious relationship but life has other plans for them. Their one-night-stand turned into something more when they found out that Cady's best friend is marrying Patton's brother. Neither of them thinks this marriage should take place so they set out together to try and derail it.

The story is pretty typical of a Harlequin book so it's somewhat predictable but that doesn't mean it's not a good book. I read this kind of story for pure escapism, not for something deep that I have to think too much about. I also like them because I know there will be an HEA.

This audiobook kept me company while I reconciled about 5 years' worth of bank statements – a job that would have been much more tedious if I hadn't been listening to this book. I'm really glad that I listened to it.
