Not a bad story

The reader needs to slow down. I tried .75 but that was to slow but not by much. It was read a bit to fast.

The only thing I am hating about this book is that the 2nd in the series isn't released yet... (Bah!) Thinking about having to wait almost 2 months until book 2 is released, Kills Me.

This is a great action story with a really great romance blooming all throughout. The narrator did a great job adding to the story as well. I love that the lead male character has his own mind and doesn't sell himself out just to get the girl like so many other romances. I can't wait to see where their relationship goes in the next book. Although it isn't an epic romance, it ranks pretty high up on my list of great reads.

As far as the author goes, I read the first 8 chapters of Night Huntress and hated every last bit of it - I just couldn't read another word of that book. Bones was nice, but Kat just grated on my last nerve. Thankfully reviews for "Once Burned" overrode my inclination to skip reading another Jeaniene Frost book.

I'm relieved the author went a different direction with a female lead who isn't such a dominate wreck as Kat was in Night Huntress. The author has completely redeemed herself in my eyes. Well done in writing "Once Burned" Jeaniene!

I just loved it! I love all of the books from this writer but this one in particular was wonderfull.

True to this author's writing style - some of the romance aspects of this story are a bit cheesy, but the adventure part of this story was good and entertaining. Where she takes the action/adventure portion of her books is not something you've read in other books and shows good imagination.

Loved the book, but for the audiobook.... could they do a 2 narrator book next time?Tavia Gilbert's Vlad is like a bad Bela Lugosi. Maybe somebody with a deep European accented voice?? (like the guy who does the Kresley Cole books-Robert Petkoff is excellent)

Vlad and Leila make for an interesting couple. Each has their strengths and weakness that seem to compliment one another. Vlad has enemies and Leila is caught in the crossfire. It will be interesting to see where their relationship goes in the future. Good world building and character development.

Jeaniene Never Fails to Bring it!

Loved the story and couldn't stop listening. Highly recommend her Books Period. If you like romance, action, supernatural and humor all flawlessly combined you will enjoy her books!

Only thing I would change would be Vlad voice. Wish it sounded younger and less drawn but otherwise, love this book!!!
