Publisher's summary

From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Kristen Proby comes a new story in her Fusion series....

Chase MacKenzie is not the man for Maura Jenkins. A self-proclaimed life-long bachelor, and unapologetic about his distaste for monogamy, a woman would have to be a masochist to want to fall into Chase's bed. And Maura is no masochist.

Chase has one strict rule: no strings attached. Which is fine with Maura because she doesn't even really like Chase. He's arrogant, cocky, and let's not forget bossy. But when he aims that crooked grin at her, she goes weak in the knees. Not that she has any intentions of falling for his charms.

Definitely not.

Well, maybe just once....

Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new listeners, it's an introduction to an author's world. And for fans, it's a bonus book in the author's series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.

A quick and steamy novella with all the feels!

Chase and Maura have more in common than they think, if only they could stop undressing each other long enough to actually have a conversation, lol. I enjoyed the banter between these two, especially the things they'd find to use as an excuse to see one another again. A great addition to the Fusion series and the audiobook was beautifully done with dual narrators, bringing the characters to life and inviting the reader to experience the story even more!

Short sweet story about want, need and fulfillment.

Couple interested in happily ever after but afraid of commitment and possible heartache. Thought provoking.

Fast in more ways than one but incomplete

Story is short and sexy but the characters are not fully developed, shallow, and one dimensional for most of the story. Lots of sexy banter, flirting and hot scenes but an extra scene near the end to give the characters more depth would have helped. This novella is part of the Fusion series but Chase was barely mentioned in his brother’s story and Moira and her stereotypical gay best friend Tommy are new. By the end we still have no backstory for Tommy and Eduardo and after one night of Truth or Dare and a short break there is a very rushed Conclusion. Too bad for Chase and Moira, who have potential and could have been better developed with just a bit more thought. Maybe they will have a breakthrough story in the future and they can adopt a puppy or better still a foster child!
Abby did an ok job narrating, but Eric’s female voice was completely inconsistent- no accent- not very believable, and at times painful. Too bad because his male voices are spot on and if they has just performed together as a duet the result would have been great. As much as I enjoy this series, this was definitely not the author’s best. It is ok as part of the Romance Package or an inexpensive sale book but definitely not worth a credit.
