~~~My Original Review~~~
I read and enjoyed these books individually as they came out. If you've been to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, and enjoyed Fisher's Popcorn, you will understand when I say more is better! This entire series is a hoot--lighthearted, sweet and fun, with the exactly right HEA (Happily Ever After) for each tale.
~~~SUPPLEMENT (After hearing the AUDIO version)~~~
I had forgotten how varied and rich is Ms Armstrong's imagination. Each of these plots is strong in a different way and presents really serious issues (spousal abuse--you don't have to be beaten with a fist--a voice can be just as deadly; severe allergies; substance abuse; divorce; high school relationships; animal testing; conflicts of interest/ethics) without dragging you into the doldrums. Her delicate touch brings many of these issues under scrutiny, offering insights almost in passing as she focuses on creating as romantic a love story as "Cinderella" (ooh, look at all the issues that one plays with!) in a reality-based context. By which I mean actual real life as opposed to scripted over-the-top drama. And the vocalization offered by narrator Tiffany Williams simply enhances the stories.
These are wonderful stories. Its about meeting your match in each of these books. They are clean and written from the heart. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good love story.
Having read the first box set, I was thrilled to listen to the second set via audiobook! Love love love this series! Tiffany Williams has a great voice, and transitions between characters flawlessly. This set made my commute to work fly by. Lindzee has done it again, and swept me away via written word (and Tiffany’s spoken). The characters fit right in where the previous stories left off, and if you haven’t read the others don’t worry. This collection will be wonderful as a standalone as well. Although I have to say that you will, without a doubt, want more! You will be kept on your toes and itching to hear what comes next. Highly recommend this!
No Match for Love Volume 2 Box Set includes three books: Strike a Match, Meet Your Match, and Mistletoe Match. Each story was enjoyable to listen to.
Strike a Match
Kate's life completely changes when her house burns down. Eighteen months later, she is on a date with the same firefighter she met that fateful night. Taylor agreed to the matchmaking due to a friend. When he realizes Kate is the woman he has thought about for months, he looks forward to this date. He screws up though. Can he get Kate to see him again? Can there be more to this than just a fantasy? I really enjoyed this story. It gives the good feeling I look for in a book. I highly recommend it!
Meet Your Match
Meet Your Match is a novella that introduces you to the characters who will be in book one. This starts the series off when Brooke meets Luke when they are teenagers. It was a good read.
Michelle is an animal rights activist and vegan. Austin works for a pharmaceutical company that still does animal testing. So when they meet and share a magical kiss under the mistletoe, everything is fine. But then they learn more about each other, and it gives them challenges every step of the way. Both already have been burned in past relationships. Will they have a chance for love? Or will their differences be too big to overcome? Another great story by this author!
Each of the three stories was unexpected. I thought I was going to get a sappy all sex not story but each of these was well written and delivered a story that I kept listening to until the end. The narrator was outstanding and brought the stories to life. I like the second story that showed how Brook begins her matchmaking journey. The first one I fell in love with and had to grab my tissue box at one point and laughed out loud at another. I would recommend this box set to anyone who wants clean romantic stories. Well worth the credit. This is a voluntary review. I was given this book via the author.
Would you listen to No Match for Love, Box Set - Volume Two: Strike a Match, Meet Your Match, Mistletoe Match again? Why?
I would listen to all three of these books again! They are fun, lighthearted romances that are easy to listen to! The narrator does such a great job with an already brilliant story!
What does Tiffany Williams bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Tiffany brings emotions into the book that make you want to laugh and cry with the characters. Her ability to paint a picture with her voice is stunning!
