Loved this Story!

This was a fun listen with plenty of funny situations. It is about a women tired of the sterotype she's forced to live within to be acceptable in a society of shallow cookie cutter women. She finally decides to be her own woman since she isn't acceptable enough to marry within the ton and the result of this decision is enough to give her brother and Gabriel St. John gray hair as they strive to protect her from herself! Great Story and a Fun Listen!

I have never listened to anything like this before. The sexual tension between Callie and Gabriel is extraordinary and listeners will applaud at the end -- for love wins all hearts. The narration was truly excellent. The story, though highly improbable, engages the modern woman with the life of the historical woman who had so little freedom and risked so much. Highly entertaining!

The character Callie was real. The story was well developed. It was a pleasure to read.

I like it when stories have a prequel of the characters meeting. Ralston was a delightful character and the love scenes were just the kind I enjoy, with lots of tension.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake?

The fencing match.

What does Carolyn Morris bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I found she had the right amount of tension in describing a scene . There were a few mispronounced words at least from American pronunciation, like renaissance, but she did such a great job in such along project, that it did not take away. I liked her choice of voices for the characters and she had a nice place. It was more enjoyable to listen rather than read this one.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes , I would have liked to. I did listen to it again a few months later because I enjoyed it so much.

book had all the elements that I like in a romance novel.

The narrator was amazing! The reason for 1/2 star less is because I would have preferred just one moment of misunderstanding between them...his reaction to their night at the club and her misunderstanding was enough. It was unnecessary to have another misunderstanding when the bet came out. Imo the author should have left out the night after the club one and kept the bet. Both misunderstandings were shortlived and highly believable for a "wallflower" of ten years to have. Regardless of my opinion, which I'm sure many will disagree with, I throughly enjoyed the book and will reread it many times in the future.

Hard to put down!

The story was filled with adventure, romance and witty humor! I've listened to it twice already. Bravo Empress!!!

Nine Rules to Break

I loved this book. I loved the premise and the characters. There are several sex scenes that are tastefully done, not erotica, but if that’s a no no for you, be warned. The book was fun and engaging. Narrator Carolyn Morris did a great job. It seemed to me that she changed the voice a little on the Hero toward the end of the book for some reason and I wasn’t as fond of the latter voice as was the rest of the book. It was just small thing.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE SERIES, AUTHOR & NARRATOR

Again, another GREAT book for women out there who need to take their mind off this strange new world we live in. Some VERY "steamy" scenes fyi. (I still say men could learn a LOT from these men in these books who get pleasure from GIVING pleasure - instead of regular men who grab, poke, prod, & do EVERYTHING for THEIR OWN pleasure, not caring 1 bit if a woman feels good or not...& it's SO SIMPLE TO LEARN MEN!). Women, you will love these stories, ALL parts of them. ENJOY! And if you're brave enough, have your hubby listen to the "teaching parts" - ha, ha! They think they know it all, but in my (ahem!) "experiences" they know NOTHING! Millions of women are left so unsatisfied sadly & men have no clue - but strut around like cocky roosters!🙄

This is another enjoyable by Sarah Mclean and the narrator was spot on as well.

So GOOD

Finished it in 3 days. Have the next book to move on to this afternoon.
