Threatened by university cutbacks, Professor Abigail Bern's only hope is to publish a provocative research paper - soon. Planning to covertly observe behavior in the notorious Dark Haven BDSM club, she takes a receptionist job. When the owner calls upon her to assist in a demonstration, she's appalled. Then fascinated. Under the unyielding hands of the master known as my Liege, she discovers a need to be more than an observer.
His late wife had been the center of his life, and Xavier Leduc wants no other. But when his new receptionist does her utmost to keep an emotional distance from him, he's intrigued and digs deeper. She's adorable. Intriguingly intelligent, beautifully submissive, sweetly vulnerable. He soon realizes her defenses are keeping her on the fringe of her sexuality - and her life. As he draws her into fuller participation, she unconsciously does the same for him. She begins to fill his world.
Ever since the night she met my Liege Xavier, Abby has questioned everything she believes about herself. She's falling for the stern owner of Dark Haven and thinks he's beginning to care for her, until the day he learns why she's in his club.
A total " page turner"-- I couldn't stop listening. Wish there was a sequel. Now to enlarge my library!

When you add two great voice actors with a story by a great author, you get magic. I read the story some time ago, and it was great. However, pairing the story with two great voice actors like Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross just brought the whole thing to life. Is it worth the credit, YES. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up.

I wanted to make sure I did a good job on this review so I listened to it again, and again, and again and I still find myself blushing and feeling very warm. Now what I am doing? Oh, right the review.
Abby (Abigail Bern) is a professor who desperately needs to publish or perish. She decides to write a paper on BDSM society and ends up volunteering as a receptionist at the Dark Haven private BDSM club with all of its extra duties to do her research. Xavier Leduc (My Liege) is the owner of Dark Haven and finds the new receptionist intriguing.
The book is written from two points of view (POV) and the experience greatly enhances the listener’s/reader’s enjoyment. I feel in love with the characters, though I occasionally wanted to slap them both upside the head. Both Abby and Xavier are written perfectly and we get to see the emotional walls of both open up.
From the start through the finish it is addicting with a much saner exposure to BDSM in a club as well as in the home. Abby’s fantasy towards the end was more than steamy (I say as I am turning the ceiling fan on again and it is the middle of winter during a cold spell).
My Liege of Dark Haven is not only sexy and passionate, it has some fabulously humorous moments interspersed. I got several weird looks when I would spontaneously burst out in laughter one minute and blush a few minutes later. Yes, in hindsight I probably should not have been listening to this while grocery shopping.
This was my first exposure to the tantalizing, titillating, and wonderful writing of Cherise Sinclair. Since listening to My Liege of Dark Haven the first time I admit to indulging in three more of the books from this series and one from the Shadowlands series. They will not be the last. Mistress Cherise’s writing does a brilliant job at gently bringing the reader/listener into the story as a full participant.
This is a Duet narration, meaning that the male narrator reads all of the male character lines and the female narrator does the same for the females throughout the entire book. This is as opposed to Dual when the narrators alternate reading chapters vocalizing all of the characters in that chapter. Duet is definitely my favorite type of listening especially for romance and erotica books.
The narration team of Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross is perfect! They both do an outstanding job giving the characters the perfect personalities and went above and beyond in making me feel like I was part of the story. They are now in an elite class of readers I cannot get enough of. In addition to purchasing and listening to additional stories from Dark Haven I have purchased an additional book because of their narration even though I am unfamiliar with the author.
Many thanks to Sinclair, Kennicott and Ross for adding heat and heart to my ears. I will be revisiting this story soon as well as many others from all three of you.

I read/listened to this before but was lax in writing a review. Cherise has a way of drawing you into her wonderful stories with amazing-delicious characters and places. If this is your first series of hers you may have read the Zachary (I hope I spelled that correctly Master Z) in this book is the owner of the club in Tampa, Florida called The Shadowlands!! That is another incredible series with even more delicious/amazing Doms/subs. Just don’t get me started. LOL 😂
Abigale is a professor and smart she HAS to get do a paper so she goes to Dark Have a BDSM club hoping to gain information and research this life style she did not count on meeting a man that rocks everything she believes Xavier he owns the club her whole world changes and she begins to understand this lifestyle and the big family it is eye opening and she feels part of this family but she is not sincere as to why she is there her world could come to a halt great read and narrators are amazing
Abigail is so real and wonderful to read about, and she makes great growing progress as an individual with the help of "My Liege" and her new friends. Interesting read and look into the BDSM world and the people who partake in it, and thanks to this first read of mine into the bdsm world, it makes me want to read up on the history of it. Seriously heart warming characters and--the audiobook cover does Not do this book justice. The actual ebook cover does, and I wish they had used that one instead; seriously does not do justice for Xavier's look or his hair.
I waited a long time for Xavier's story, and it was worth the wait. I think Abby was a great fit for him. I think Sinclair's strength is her empathetic characters that make you feel an immediate connection to them. Of course, Kennicott and Ross bring these characters to life like no other narrators I've ever heard. One word of warning, though. There is a long punishment scene that I really struggled listening to. It seemed excessive and too long, but it's possible that it may not bother other readers/listeners. Other than that, I absolutely loved the audiobook.
