Publisher's summary

A sexy Scot, his big, lumpy sheepdog, and an English bluestocking who steals both their hearts.

Enjoy this hilarious, best-selling Regency series.

London is never the same once the Farthingales move onto Chipping Way, one of the loveliest streets in Mayfair. With five beautiful daughters in residence, the street has become a trap for unwary bachelors. Who will be next to fall?

Ewan Cameron has no intention of falling in love with the delectable, bookish Lily Farthingale. He is the estranged grandson of the duke of Lotheil and has come to London because of a deathbed promise to his father. He has no intention of staying beyond his three-month obligation. Nothing can tempt him to remain, not even Lily, the beautiful bluestocking determined not only to restore relations between him and his grandfather, but to turn Ewan into a proper gentleman. It doesn't matter that his big lump of a sheepdog is madly in love with her. Nor is it significant that Ewan can always tell Lily apart from her identical twin sister. Always.

Lily Farthingale, the scholarly twin, dreams of becoming the first female member of the Royal Society. She grabs at the chance when the elderly duke of Lotheil approaches her with a proposition—he'll admit her into the Royal Society if she helps him to establish a relation with his estranged grandson, Ewan Cameron, a very rough-around-the-edges Scotsman who hates everything English. Between shootings, explosions, and Lily's abduction, will Ewan fall in love with Lily in this Pygmalion-inspired story?

Confused

I like this series however be warned that they are mis-numbered. It is a bummer to read book 1, really enjoy it then move on to book 2 and realize that books 2, 3, 4, and 5 actually occur in reverse order.

I enjoyed it but...

A modern sexy romance disguised as an historical romance. I think the author was trying for bawdy but over stepped the mark. I want my historical romances to be true to the time in which they are set. I am unlikely to listen to the other books in the series.

This is a fun book!

This was a fun book. The leading lady was fun, funny, whitty, intelligent. Which are qualities to be frowned upon in the era. The hero matched her qualities. It was a lightweight amusing story. Not too steamy but it did reference on sex a lot. Listen for yourself, I'll bet you love it too.

book is out of order

This book is really the 4th in the series, so I plan to wait for all of them to be on audible and then figure out which one might be first.
3 of the sisters are married at the beginning of this book, so it is a little confusing as there is some kind of "curse" about meeting a strange man on their street. I think this is the 4th book, so be warned if you are like me and want to have the order correct.
The story is good , but a little contrived. The heroine is in danger and the hero has to save her. I did not really understand why the villans wanted to hurt the heroine, except for the fact that they seemed to just go crazy all of a sudden...pretty convenient!
there is a constant repeat of the overly large dog jumping up and licking the heroine. Several times just makes it seem stupid. A good editor would have helped this book to be a little tighter. I worry about the storyline when it is a self-published author.
The story was not great, but not the worst I have read. The narrator does an okay job, but I don't think has the right Scottish accent. After listening to Rosalyn Landor no one seems to sound authentique!

I loved the narration and the accents were great

Great story, alpha highlands male and sweet English rose come together in a great story. Hollis McCarthy brings it all together is a delightful narration. The story is well-written and makes me want to read more from this author. I truly enjoyed this book and give the performance two thumbs up. Worth your time, worth the credit.

Will the Highlander Find Love?

This audiobook is the most amazing story that I'm sure you will love too!

When you think you have it figured out, you don't. There are twists
in this story and exciting ones too.

The two main characters Lily and Ewan (I hope I got that right) are
Incredible. I found myself cheering them on. Wait until you get the
audiobook, you'll see what I mean.

Naturally you must know after I said all that I highly recommend you
get this audiobook. You will not be disappointed 😞!

Performance was Outstanding

The Narrator for this book was wonderful. Each character had their own distinct personality and it came out in the performance of their voice. Story was fun, quirky, and was full of romance and steam. I can't wait to listen to the other books in the series.

Proper Order of Series

The proper order is Book 5, 6, 4, 3, 1 and then 2. This way there are no spoilers and the relationships are better appreciated and understood. I do not understand why they were not orders this way to begin with. 🤷🏻‍♀️
