New year. New place. New me. Right? Wrong. And all because of Shay Coleman. Football captain and quarterback, he was the big guy on campus. The cocky guy in my political science class with a smirk. I hated him on sight...and he was about to break all my rules.
Fake engaged to the hottest quarterback in the country? Score. They say nothing compares to your first kiss, but our first kiss was orchestrated for an audience. Our second kiss...that one was real. He cradled my face like he was terrified he'd f--k it up. He stared into my eyes until the air buzzed. Soft and slow, full of sighs and little laughs, he inhaled me like I was the finest Belgian chocolate, and he'd never get another piece.
How to kick off a great summer in the Hamptons: Snag a gorgeous rental on the beach. Check. Get a job at a trendy summer haunt. Check. How to screw up a great summer in the Hamptons: Fall for the one guy with a dark leather jacket, scruff on his face, and intense eyes that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the tony-looking crowd. A guy you can’t have when you’ll be leaving at the end of the season. Check. Check. Check.
Jack Valentini isn't my type. Sexy, brooding cowboys are fine in the movies, but in real life, I prefer a suit and tie. Proper manners. A close shave. Jack might be gorgeous, but he's also scruffy, rugged, and rude. He wants nothing to do with a "rich city girl" like me, and he isn't afraid to say so. But I've got a PR job to do for his family's farm, so he's stuck with me and I'm stuck with him. His glares. His moods. His tight jeans. His muscles. His huge, hard muscles.
Vaughn West is at the height of his acting career. He's the it man of Hollywood - until the ultimate betrayal sends him into a downward spiral of alcohol-infused days, ending with a different woman in his bed every night. His only way out of the funk is accepting a new movie deal with the hottest director in Hollywood. Charlotte Michaels is a designer-brands girl on a thrift-store budget until she lands the mother of all jobs as Vaughn West's wardrobe assistant on his latest movie. Only their first meeting doesn't go as planned, and now, Vaughn is acting like a jerk.
I'd say I'm down on my luck, but that's an understatement. I'm flat on my ass. Homeless, hungry, and in hiding with my little sister at the age of 21, I've never been so desperate. I've hit rock bottom when I get an offer I can't refuse. Sell my body to save my sister? There's nothing I won't do to keep her safe. I make the rules, and I'm not afraid to defend myself if this rich guy crosses the line. But once I see beneath his cold, calculating façade, the lines aren't so clear anymore.

Ever notice that sometimes a guy will do something really stupid, like let the love of his life slip through his fingers? Yeah. I'm that guy. But the instant I run into her again I've got one goal and one goal only—a second chance. The plan? Go big or go home. Fine, at first glance, stripping naked at my ex-girlfriend's place of work might not seem like the brightest way to win her heart again. But trust me on this count—she always liked me best without any clothes on. And sometimes you've got to play to your strengths when you're fighting an uphill battle.
Life moves on. Only people who have never lost anyone they loved with all their heart can blindly believe those words. What if I didn't want to move on? What if I wanted to wake up every morning with that familiar ache in my chest, knowing I'd never see her again? But, life can change in a moment. I knew that better than anyone...so, when I couldn't get those mesmerizing green eyes out of my head, I decided to do something about it.
The average song is three and a half minutes long; those three and a half minutes could lead to a slow blink, a glimpse of the past, or catapult the soul into heart-shattering nostalgia. At the height of my career, I had the life I wanted, the life I'd always envisioned. I'd found my tempo, my rhythm. Then I received a phone call that left me off key.
Hosting her brother's wedding for an MVP guest list is the challenge of Jess Canning's life. Already the family screw-up, she can't afford to fail. And nobody (nobody!) can learn of the colossal mistake she made with the best man during a weak moment last spring. It was wrong, and there will not be a repeat. Absolutely not. Even if he is the sexiest thing on two legs.
Thirty days ago, my boss, Mr. Wolf of Wall Street, came to me with an offer I couldn't refuse: Sign my name on the dotted line and pretend to be his fiancée for one month. If I agreed, he would let me out of my employment contract with a "very generous" severance package. The rules were pretty simple: No intimate kissing, no actual sex. Just pretend to love each other for the press, even though I've secretly wanted to knock that sexy smirk off his face since the first day we met.
Jackson "The Beast" Boudreaux is rich, gorgeous, and unbelievably rude to the staff at Chef Bianca Hardwick's New Orleans restaurant. Bianca would sooner douse herself in hot sauce than cook for Jackson again, but when he asks her to cater his fundraiser, Bianca can't refuse, knowing the cash will help pay her mother's medical bills. Then Jackson makes another outrageous request: Marry me. The unconventional offer includes an enormous sum - money Bianca desperately needs, even if it does come with a contract - and a stunning ring.
"You never have to be without me, Laney, never." He lied...my everything I ever knew, trusted, wanted...I am, in fact, without him. On my own and out of my shell, I learn new things about life, friendship and...myself. Like what you've always known may not be what you've always wanted. Dane Kendrick awakened things within me that I never knew existed, unraveling and uncovering the real Laney Jo Walker. I'm a new adult...so is my story.
He wanted nothing at all...until he found she had everything to give.... Sunder lead singer and guitarist Sebastian Stone has everything - fans, fame, and fortune. He also has a heart full of bitterness and a reputation for a short-fused temper. But an outward reputation rarely reveals the true man inside.
I was warned about Tristan Cole. "Stay away from him," people said. "He's cruel." "He's cold." "He's damaged." It's easy to judge a man because of his past. To look at Tristan and see a monster. But I couldn't do that. I had to accept the wreckage that lived inside of him, because it also lived inside of me.
My life revolved around two things. Football and my cock. And not necessarily in that order. Being the head football coach for a top university in Texas had its ups and its downs. The ups? Endless women to f--k. The downs? The politics that came with the job. From the moment Aubrey Cain walked into my office, she turned my world upside down. Being forced to have her follow me around for a month was going to be a pain in the ass. Especially since I couldn't keep my eyes off of her.
"You've done better." With one uncharacteristically sassy tweet to her longtime celebrity crush, Zoe Miller's life turns upside down. Ultrahot A-lister Chase Covington doesn't just respond to Zoe's tweet, he does the unthinkable: he messages Zoe directly. Now she must decide between walking away or meeting her crush in person.
Fawn Reed has kissed one too many toads and has finally decided that Prince Charming doesn't exist. After countless mishaps, mistakes, and unmitigated disasters on the dating scene, she's decided to give up and move on with her life...solo. Everything changes, however, after Fawn runs into Levi Fremont, a homicide detective new to New York City.
My life was perfect - from the outside, at least. Until I came home to find another woman straddling my longtime boyfriend. On my brand-new bedding.
Now I'm back in Jetty Beach, the small town on the coast where I grew up, crashing at my parents' place. And life is looking pretty bleak.
Except...Ryan Jacobsen. We knew each other as kids, but he did not look like this. Tousled dark hair, a body that sparks thoughts that make me blush, and intense green eyes hiding a sadness I want to kiss away. He's back in town, too, and I can't seem to get him out of my mind.
Or stay out of his bed.
He makes me feel things I never imagined (and the things he can do with his tongue!). But his sweet, sad eyes are hiding a secret - one that could tear us apart. Ryan comes into my life at precisely the wrong time. It's either a huge mistake...or it must be love.
I am in awe of this "new to me" author, Claire Kingsley, and give her kudos for delivering an amazing heartfelt story, with genuine, flawed characters with real life issues. This is one of the most perfect, imperfect stories I've listened too. I'm so glad I gave this author a shot.
Some Spoilers:
I don't want to spoil any of the story, but want to provide a few details to help you decide if you are interested in listening. Must Be Love wasn't an overly emotionally draining story, but all throughout the audio, you will feel a variety of emotions, especially towards the end. There were several laugh out loud moments, and I especially loved the grooming scene, it was hilarious!
This story is told from dual POV's, but I fell in love with Ryan's character. He was sweet, caring, complex, but also realistically flawed. He's been to dark places in his life, and listening to his character go through the ups and downs while depression was slowly taking over pulled on my heartstrings. For anyone who's suffered or knows someone who suffers from depression will be able to relate, and find these scenes realistic.
Ryan's a professional photographer who not only takes pictures of models, but of ordinary women. He makes them feel sexy, and special. Some of these scenes were erotic, and lead to some steamy hot sex scenes.
The narration was great! I don't recall listening to either narrator before, but it did take a few chapters to adapt to their voices and narrating style, but once I did, they really brought me into the story.
Must Be Love was awesome, well written and had me hooked from the first chapter. It was well worth the time. I bought this audio on a whispersync deal, but feel it's worth a credit. I recommend the audio, and with Audible's Great Listen Guarantee you can't go wrong.

Nicole & Ryan's tale is a beautiful story!! The first in the Jetty Beach series and I can't wait for more!!
Male narrators voice is a bit off & female narrator sounds too young to be a 27 yr old.

Enjoyed the storyline and felt a part of their lives. When you share the sorrows and celebrate the joys with the characters then the author is awesome!! Thank you!
Excellent love story and a gracious way to discuss depression. The love story is so very romantic and I love how it emphasizes that women, at any age can still be sensual!
Really enjoyed the writing and the narrators. Murders and mystery fill this book along with native american paranormal folk lore.
Claire Kingsley makes you take a look at what you think life is about. She brings to light issues that some people prefer to shy away from. Nicole and Ryan will touch you in ways you don't expect. They will make you laugh and cry in equal measures.
BJ Pottsworth and Kimberley Roelle become the characters they portray.
No lead up, no pent up feelings. It was just meh. Narrators were good but lack of storyline lost my attention quite rapidly. This was a DNF for me
