Publisher's Summary

A sexy new forbidden romance from number one NYT best-selling author Lauren Blakely....

It seemed like a good idea at the time....

As the team’s publicist, I need a football player to be the face of our charity calendar, and Jones Beckett needs a savvy PR woman to manage his new sponsorship deal.

A simple give and take, and I’m sure I’ll have no problem following my iron-clad rule - don’t date a player. And never ever fall for one. No matter how charming, big-hearted, and devilishly clever the man is.

But you know what they say about best laid plans....

Once I start spending my off-season days and nights with Jones, I’m following a brand new playbook, one that has me falling hard for the incorrigible flirt - heart, body, and mind.

That’s against the rules, and now what seemed like a bright idea has turned into a dangerously forbidden one.

It was supposed to be an I-scratch-her-back-she-scratched-mine kind of arrangement.

And man, did Jillian ever drag her nails down my back on one hell of a hot night. Okay fine, it was several hot nights on the road.

Now, we’re back in town, and it’s time to set the play clock back to when we were simply player and publicist. Given the way the last few years have gone, I can’t risk this deal. Trouble is, I want more than just another night with her.

What’s a guy to do when he's always been most likely to score, but the woman he’s falling for is way off limits?

She shoots, she scores. Another hit for LB

Jones Beckett is cleaning up his act, long gone are his party boy ways. In order to help him stay on the straight and narrow his agents asks the Renegades publicist, Jillian to help. Jones is over the moon at the prospect of spending time with Jillian, his favourite past time is flirting with her. What neither of them really considered was the effect working in close proximity would have on their unrequited attraction. But what happens when they realise that attraction is mutual?

Lauren Blakely has done it again! I have fallen in love… again! Is there a book boyfriend of Lauren’s I haven’t fallen head over heels in love with? I don’t think there is. She just has this way with her male characters. I am a huge fan of her male POV, are we sure she’s not a man? She always gets it so spot on. That being said, I really loved that this book was a dual POV, getting insights into both Jones and Jillian really made their story stand out. I love the way Lauren writes, it always makes me feel such a vast array of emotions. I swoon often, which is a given really, sometimes even shedding a tear or two, and laugh, oh boy, do I laugh. She is hilarious, the thoughts and situations these characters come up with. I read this book and devoured it, I was hooked from the very first page, so much so, that I couldn’t pass up listening to the audiobook when it released today. I liked the cover a lot, especially the audiobook cover's inclusion of the narrators names. I like that it's similar to the MVP cover but still distinctly its own. Although it is a sports romance you don’t have to be a sports fan to enjoy it. This is a story about love, a story about family, and a story about following your heart.

Jones is all the things. He is sweet and sexy, funny and charming. Jillian is the ultimate professional, she’s the person you want on your team. As a football fan, I’m telling you, I want Jillian taking care of my guys. I loved that her outward appearance was the total opposite of how she really felt, especially where Jones was concerned. Her inner monologue was hilarious. The sexy times were timed so perfectly for this couple, they suited the story and the situation. They were steaming too. The way their relationship progressed was so very J&J. The way they tried to fight how they felt and neither knowing the other shared their feelings. There wasn’t a lot of conflict, which again, I really liked. The banter was pure perfection, I love that anyway, and Lauren Blakely always writes the best banter, this couple was no exception.  I looooove these characters. Jones and Jillian, it even has a nice sound to it, right? The supporting cast (so to speak) is really fun, too. It was great getting to have that little catch-up with Cooper and some of the other guys… and women from MVP. The family aspect of this book was a wonderful addition, it’s something that we see a lot of from athletes and including it for Jones’ really gave an added dimension to his character. Cletus, oh my word! Yes! I adore him so so much. I want him in my life.

I’ve spent the day listening to this dual narration and I have no regrets. I was so excited when I heard Most Likely to Score was going to be from a dual POV, Zachary Webber was fantastic performing Most Valuable Playboy, but getting both POV’s for this book was a great idea. Once I heard Zachary would be back and Andi Arndt was with him, I was super excited, their voices blend so well together that each book really is perfection. Both Andi and Zachary have a great range and each character sounds distinct and individual. Their performances always bring all the emotions to the surface, I can’t help but react, whether that’s laughing, swooning, or even shedding a tear. I couldn’t imagine anyone else narrating Jillian and Jones. The production was smooth with no issues, I loved the cheering and football sounds at the beginning and end of the production, it gives it a nice flair.

*At the end of the audiobook is an excerpt from Hard Wood, narrated by Sebastian York – I’ve listened to this book and let me tell you, it’s fantastic, you’ve not heard anything until you’ve heard SebYo narrate a cat. If you need more convincing, listen to the excerpt, it’ll whet your appetite.

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫

I really liked Jones & Jillian. Their flirty banter in the beginning was so funny. Jones is funny, flirtatious, a good guy and has a serious attraction to the teams publicist Jillian. I love how much he cares about his family and how he likes to help everyone. He was a generally nice guy and that alone makes him swoon worthy in my book. Jillian is also attracted to Jones but she tries to be professional since they work together. She is tough because he doesn't make it easy. I love her relationship with her dad and how much she lets loose when she is finally with Jones. The chemistry between these two is off the charts. Lauren Blakely knows that the way to her readers hearts is with a super hot nice guy who has a serious soft spot for animals and family. She also gives us another great adult romance without a large amount of drama and that always works for me. The ending of this book really left me feeling happy and smiling. I love a great light-hearted love story.

The narration was great as it always is with Zachary Webber & Andi Arndt. These two really compliment each other so well.

Another Score for Lauren Blakely

Another score for Lauren Blakely. She just gets it! Her Male POV is always spot on. It’s always a pleasure to listen and/or read her creations.

Another creative work inside the mind of a beautiful, sexy man with Jones Beckett and wonderfully narrated by Zachary Webber. Jones is a player who has. Kind his ultimate goal in finding a forever with no other than his publicist Jillian. Andi Arndt is always so eloquent in her characters and I love how her voice makes me become them.

What I really love with Lauren Blakely’s books is that the audio comes out simultaneously with the actual ebook, that is amazing ♥️

Most likely to scare

Here we have an NFL public figure whose”past publicity “was not showing him in a good light. He had to clean his image to gain a major sponsor to promote his cleaner image and to show his fans that he is serious about his team, and using his new found cleaner image to make a good impact on the community and for other charities. For Publicist Jillian, she makes it her top priority to make sure that Pro player Jones keeps his nose clean and stays away from negative publicity.Jones has other ideas,he’s looking to seduce his prim and proper publicist to let loose and have a bit of private fun with him. Unbeknownst to both of them, true love develops making the efforts and sacrifices work out for them in the end, because Jillian makes Jones an honest man out of him.

Puppies and Swoons!

The gist of the story is this; Jillian Moore, a Chinese American publicist for the San Francisco Renegades Football team helps,  Jones Beckett the team's star receiver clean up his image with charity work, photo shoots, and puppies. This forces the two to spend time together away from the team and tempted their attraction to each other. This was such a fun story featuring the forbidden romance trope.

Jillian is such a sweetheart and while Jones has a reputation as a player, the man is totally swoon-worthy. I absolutely loved the back and forth banter between them. While the chemistry is there from the beginning, mutual respect and friendship soon give way to passion.

It was fun seeing this couple transition from time away back to reality. A romance between them could ruin both of their careers. I loved how Jones tried to protect Jillian's reputation. It was total swoon overload. Blakley kept the drama low allowing the conflict to come from outside the relationship. This allowed me to champion this couple as I rooted for a happily ever after.

Book dates with Lauren Blakley always result in insane amounts of smiles, laughter, blushes and total escapism. Her characters are down to earth and very real, making them relatable. Then she adds in adorable animals and has me gushing.

I discovered narrator Zackery Webber through Blakely and he does a fantastic job with Jones. He captures his personality and enhanced an already great tale. Andi Arndt brought out Jillian's sweetness and nailed her struggles over her attraction to Jones. It felt honest and had me laughing.

Most Likely to Score delivered a feel-good romance, with charming, lovable characters and adorable animals. I devoured this and pulled off my headphones smiling.

Winning Combination!

I love Lauren Blakely with Zachary Webber and Anti Arndt. They make a perfect combination for my ears. The storyline of this book is original and humorous. I loved the characters in this book and how their relationship grew from acquaintances at work to lovers. I feel good whenever I listen to a Lauren Blakely book, as they have endearing characters, steam, humor and a happy ending without a lot of angst in between.

Totally enjoyed this one!

This was a really fun listen. From the very beginning, this one captured my attention. I'm a fan of this author, but among hers I still have my favorites. And, this one is going alongside those. Jones and Jillian were a lot of fun. Loved both of these characters. Loved the diversity of the characters. I love that LB writes usually about 2 people navigating a relationship and not unnecessary angst. Just fun to listen to. Both narrators did a great job.

Such a sweet story with low angst

3.5-4 stars

This was a solid, fun listen with a slow-ish burn between the couple, a real cute couple. MOST LIKELY TO SCORE was a sports-focused romance with a lead NFL player, Jones and the team’s long time PR agent, Jillian. Neither of them had anything to prove in their jobs but Jones had everything to prove to Jillian.

This was an engaging story from a familiar trope that still kept its individuality. I enjoyed the build between these two and I enjoyed seeing Jillian who was familiar from previous stories. The angst was low, with more character focus, which was good.

The narration was good with strong familiar narrators, a little niggle being that I would really like some new narrators for this author, especially a fresh female voice. That said, I couldn’t be more excited by the voices coming on Lauren Blakely’s next release.

I voluntarily listened to an early copy of this audiobook.
