Moonrise

I suppose it’s not fair to write a review when I didn’t finish the book, but I just couldn’t empathize with either the H or h. He was too jaded & she was too naive. It’s possible he can be redeemed by the end of the book, but I don’t care about him enough to find out. I’ve enjoyed books by Anne Stuart before & I always love Susan Erickson’s work, but I just can’t get into this story.

A dark romance!

Maybe I missed it, but just FYI this novel, although well written, contains domestic violence. I was a little put off by how crude some of it was…definitely not my taste. I also wasn’t too impressed by the lack of sense this gal seemed to have for said offender. He was repeatedly too rough with her sometimes hurting her significantly and other than the fact she had a crush on this guy as a youngster, I really don’t see the reason for the attraction? Love this author and will continue to peruse her long list of titles, but this one made my stomach churn 🥴.

Hard to relate to the characters

Well are usually like Anne Stuart and the narrator does a great job I found Could not find any empathy for the characters and the plot was pretty obvious. Don’t let this review stop you from eating Anne Stuart But you may want to wait till this book is on sale

Behind the scenes of a black ops group.

It was well written. A little slow in the beginning and a bunch of 'flash backs' to give back the story. There ared definitely some dark parts in the story. If you have problems with killing and sexual assaults this book isn't for you. You find out the why's in the end.

Disappointed

It is very hard to enjoy a book when you don’t really care for the main characters. I get the fact that you need intrigue to bring your characters together, but it was like beating a dead horse, Everything seemed predictable.

On the other hand, Susan Erickson, the reader did an amazing job! She could read me the want ads and I would be enthralled.

Would I recommend the book? No.

Great plot

Good story line. Well written. My only minor complaint is that the narrators voice just seemed a little off for the age of the the female character. But still a great story!

Why?

The story had amazing twists and turns. It kept me coming back to find out what next. And then it turned into sexual violence and nigh on porn. I’m order to know how it ended, you had to wade through the disgusting descriptions of violent and ugly sex scenes. Not a fan! The narrator is perfection as always!!

script repetive

However the narrator gave the script drama and some believability. Could not listen past halfway, though except for the very last line, which I liked!

Interesting Listen

Though the story moved somewhat slow I found that it only enhanced the story. Susan Erickson is my favorite to listen to.
