Publisher's Summary

Elizabeth Matthews manages to escape her cruel husband and the clutches of the law, but they're both in hot pursuit. Struggling to survive on the run, she finds herself in the last place she wants to be, the marshal's office in the town of Porter, Texas, dragged there by an overzealous shopkeeper who accuses her of theft.

Marshal Grover Huntley can see that the destitute young woman draped in rags and trembling in front of his desk needs protection, and he feels the stirrings of compassion, as well as the desire to hold the frightened young lady in his arms. The more he questions her about her predicament, however, the more she lies, and he can't do much to help if he doesn't know what she's afraid of.

A spanking over his knee proves to her that he not only demands her honesty, but also that he cares enough to do more than send her on her way or throw the book at her. She tells him of her fears, but it's what she doesn't say that changes the course of their lives.

Will the marshal be able to help when he learns of her connection to an enemy of his past, and will Missy learn to trust him as he works to save her from the mounting troubles that threaten both her freedom and her life?

    "Great story to listen to"

A fabulous story to listen to. This narrator was my least favorite of the three books. The story easily pulls the listener into Missy and Grover’s situation. The twists and turns of the story are well done. Totally worth using a credit on it.

    Story
    "Sweet, Adventurous, Action-packed, Great Spanks!!"
What did you love best about Missy Meets the Marshal?

The home spun writing style is lovely for anyone who appreciates the non-highbrow turn of phrase. This delightfully told tale has action, adventure and excitement throughout along with super hot discipline scenes that will leave any spanko panting.

What other book might you compare Missy Meets the Marshal to and why?

This book compares favorably with any of Amelia Smarts other audio books, I love them all. My least favorite was #1 in this series. She writes with a pureness of heart that is so very sweet.

What about John Rhodes’s performance did you like?

John Rhodes performance is definitely an acquired taste. At first I hated it but as the pages went by, he definitely grew on me and I found in the end that his laid back western style really fit these characters and the era in which the story is set. Voice enjoyment is terribly subjective and I thought his performance was incredibly good but I can definitely see that not everyone would have an appreciation for his voice.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I especially enjoyed the scene in the barn when Grover punished Missy for her misdeeds and explained how she had disappointed him and violated his ability to perform his duties as her husband etc. It was very touching how they came back together psychologically, mentally, physically and spiritually. Very well written and moving section.

    Any additional comments?

Amelia Smarts writing is like going on a picnic.... her books leave me uplifted and feeling refreshed... like a day of fresh air and sunshine.
