Publisher's summary

Winning has always come naturally for stud ice hockey defenseman Gus "the Bus" Persson. On the ice or off, he's never had any trouble scoring, racking up goals - and girls. As the best player in his rookie class and the number-one draft pick of the Malibu Suns, he's taking his game to the next level and is justifiably full of swagger.

So why does one of the Suns' ice girls treat him like he's invisible?

Bo St. James doesn't have time for rookie hotshots who think their gloves don't stink. She knows them, she works with them, she trains them. It doesn't matter that Gus Persson is the hottest newbie she's ever seen. She knows his type. She's got big plans of her own, and she's not going to let some cocky rich-kid athlete keep her from her goals.

But there's a chemistry between them they cannot deny. A lust that burns so hot it threatens to melt the very ice on which they make their livings. The game has changed for both of them. Together, can these two play to win?

I love you Jacob Morgan!!!!!

Everything he narrates is awesomely good. I select books based on Zachary Webber and/or Jacob Morgan narrations. And Andi Arndt aka Elena are pretty good too . Story was cute, characters colorful and just a plain old feel good book. Keep it up and I'll keep listening to your sweet and romantic voice. Can't get enough. lol

Spoilers In Review

This is the first book where I can honestly say I wish the two main characters did not end up together. The female lead was the definition of self absorbed. She has a chip on her shoulder condemning her crush because he grew up wealthy and entitled (according to her prejudices). The only entitlement was from her. She did not grow up in poverty. Her parents may not have been wealthy but she was far from the poor house. She had two loving parents whose main sin was sheltering their daughter from responsibility.
She complained that she had the worst luck ever. She spoke of heartbreak and trust. Is she kidding???? She has a best friend who wants to be there for her but she lies to her (to everybody) and does not let her in. Then when her friend needs her she judges and makes fun of her situation.
Is the author a mother? I am assuming not. Bo can talk about having the worst luck ever yet.... she is a few months away from her college graduation in physical therapy at the top of her class. She doesn’t seem to be in debt. She had a baby at 17 but he was born healthy. Her parents took him in and he is happy, extremely well cared for, and loves her. Bo sounds like she had some post partum depression but it passes. She complained about her mother but for what????? Her mother wanted her to step
up. They adopted her son because she could not handle it at the time. Did her mom think she would then move across the country to Malibu (really) then disappear for four years! They stepped in to take some of the pressure off but they did not think she would not want to be a part of his life. She wasn’t even a good “big sister”. Is sacrifice even a concept to her? Some people aren’t meant to be mothers and certainly this applies to her. When she did visit she couldn’t even give her son 100% of her attention for the weekend. She sounded pained when they asked her to stay two extra days. She is almost sociopathic. Her mother gives her crap because the only person she cares about is herself. Not her family, her son, and poor Gus, but not even him. He is 23 and should be focused on his career but instead Bo quit school just a few months from graduation and is now his problem forever. I think when his mother knows the entire story she will not like Bo as much. She is 21 and acts like a 10 year old. I could just not get over this story. Hard pass to anyone thinking of downloading it. Save yourself the aggravation.

My Favorite Misadventure by Far!

Loved it!! I've read a couple of the misadventures books and this is by far my favorite. The writing, the characters, the plot twist and the fantastic smoking hot romance, it was everything I was looking for in a new audio. The narrator's were spot on, I felt the emotion in their voice and the chemistry was all there, Jacob and Andi are my new duo favorite.

I highly recommend this audio book for annoying looking for some steamy, humorous and emotional listen.

needed to be longer

I did enjoy the story, but it definitely needed to be longer to fill all the holes. I was surprised when the end came, seemed like there was still a lot more story to be told. But it was a cute story.

Enjoyable

Of all the character names in the world, I was blown away by "Bocephus". Gus's enjoyment of Bo's full name was just one of the many things I liked about him. The chemistry, the uncertainty of the future, and the final resolution were all pieces I loved of this story. I'll definitely pick up more Toni Aleo books after this one.

As always, Arndt and Morgan do a fantastic job at bringing the characters to life.
