Publisher's summary

In their race for the truth, love must prove more powerful than America's worst enemy.

When a gorgeous, bleeding woman on the run falls into the arms of Sean "Metal" O'Brien, the former SEAL medic knows just what he can do. Heal her. Tend to her. Keep her safe.

What he can't seem to do is keep his guard up. Something about the haunted, hunted beauty knocks down all his defenses.

Felicity Ward is no stranger to secrets. She was raised in the Witness Protection Program, and her whole childhood was a lie. But she couldn't have known that her family's secrets, secrets she didn't even know she was keeping, could spark a nuclear war.

And nothing could have prepared her for the tough, sexy warrior who first saves her life and then vows to protect it no matter what.

Midnight Promises

Metal meet Felicity at Jacko and his girlfriend's, bleeding from a knife cut in her side. He falls head over heals for this woman. But she has some baggage that has her on the run. Her parents were Russian defectors and some how someone wants her enough to hurt those around her. While they figure out what is happening she reveals her true self to her new found friends and they all vow to protect her. Not only that but she happens to be a computer geek with MIT background...This is action packed and drama with old KGB wanting her. I listened to this within a couple of days just to find out how it was going to end.

Another great romance!

This audiobook was great listening! The hero of this story is Sean “Metal” O’Brien, who lost his firefighter father and brother on 9/11 and his mother a week later from a broken heart. The heroine is Felicity Ward, a super smart computer hacker who is coming to Portland to visit Lauren, Jackos wife. Things go suddenly bad at the Portland airport when a man tries to kidnap her at knife point, which results in a knife wound to her side. She escapes and makes her way to Lauren’s house while bleeding and weak. This is where Metal meets her and since he has field medic training, he takes care of her. This begins their love story, but Felicity is not who she seems and Danger is following her. It’s up to Metal and his friends to save her. Narration was excellent.

Romance? Delivered!

I am very keen for this installment in the Midnight series. First, one of my favorite heroines. Felicity is a plucky, compassionate genius with enough flaws to make her loveable, believable and relatable.

Then the hero. Sean is everything he should be: strong, protective, self-aware. LMR gives us lots of steam and double helping of chemistry between two nicely drawn characters. Even the first meeting of this couple had all the thrills I could stand. Really, I can't take more.

The villian is suitably villianous, the conflict engaging with plenty of action, and the colorful supporting cast is, well, supporting. Good character development and a smooth story round out this tale.

Elizabeth Hart was spot on for the voice of Felicity, exactly as I imagined. The vocal range fell a little short for male voices, but I've gotten pretty spoiled with dual narrators. I liked the production very much and recommend it whole heartedly.

Loved it, good mystery, great romance

With Metal (the nickname makes sense) caring for wounded techie, Felicity Ward, a sweet romance comes to life. I love how Felicity is so brilliant but they discover they can enjoy each others strengths. Great narration.
