Publisher's summary

With a dagger in her hand and vengeance on her mind, Darkhaven beauty Elise Chase prowls Boston's streets in search of retribution against the Rogue vampires who took from her everything she cherished. Using an extraordinary psychic gift, she tracks her prey, well aware that the power she possesses is destroying her. She must learn to harness this gift, and for that she can turn to only one man: the deadliest of the Breed warriors, Tegan.

No stranger to loss, Tegan knows Elise's pain. He knows fury, but when he slays his enemies, it is with ice in his veins. He is perfect in his self-control, until Elise seeks his aid in her personal war. An unholy alliance is forged - a bond that will link them by blood and vow - and plunge them into a tempest of danger, desire, and the darkest passions of the heart.

Spend some more time among the Midnight Breed.

Tegan & Elise

I was excited to see that this had been added to audio, and the excitement was well worth it. The book kept me hooked, I did not want to stop listening cant wait for the rest of this series to be released. Please keep them coming.

Narrator dropped the ball!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

The story is fantastic. Adrian didn't disappoint! But I would not recommend this audiobook. For me I like a narrator that keeps continuity with the character. This narrator was all over the place with each character. Very disappointing!

What did you like best about this story?

Tegan's character development.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

In the first book she was spot on for Tegan. No matter if he was being slammed into a mirror of glass or killing a rogue his voice was always the same. In this book his voice was all snark, anger, etc. Also, Niko sounded anything but Russian and Dante and Rio were basically the same voice.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

When time doesn't heal your wound there is always revenge.

Another Winner!!

I really enjoy the fact that Lara Adrian has taken the vampire story and put her own very creative twist to it. I have read the whole series and was really pleased to see it on Audible. In my opinion, Ms. Adrian has a cleaver imagination and I hope the rest of the series makes it to audio (and soon)!!! I loved the story of Elise and Tegan when I read it, and I wasn't disappointed at all when I listed to it. I do like Hillary Huber's narration and hope to see (or should I say hear) her back on future reads.

Not my favorite, but still good

This is book 3 of the Midnight Breed Series, and I have to say I am on my way to book 4. I knew I would like this series so when Audible had one of their paranormal sales and almost all of this series was dirt cheap, I bought them all....then I put off listening to them for MONTHS, bad bad me!

This whole series so far has been action packed, with great plots, nice twists, strong characters and overall the books are both intense and they are building a whole world in which the reader can get sucked into. So far book 3 was my least favorite...but it was still better than 90% of the books I have listened to that involve a vampire!

This is the story of Teegan...I could kind of tell there was something between him and Elise in book 2 and was glad that their relationship would be explored in this book. I have to say that for this one the plot out hit the heat and relationship issues...which isn't a bad thing, but I wanted more meaningful moments between the two of them. We did learn a lot more about this Breed World, and the players in it, and we even had some resolution with a big bad guy in this book, so all in all it was still good, just wish their was more chemistry and heat moments, but I guess I can't have it all.

My advice is if you are rich just go ahead and download all of these books...if you are on a tight budget and can't afford all these books then put them in your wish list and when Audible has a great sale buy them ALL! Once you start you won't want to stop, so don't torture yourself...you know...unless you can drop a couple hundred dollars with ease!

Spectacular Story!

Where does Midnight Awakening  rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Midnight Awakening, Book 3 is by far my favorite in the series to date. (I've read the first five thus far.) So much of the relationship that develops between Tegan & Elise are surprisingly fun & spontaneous. I found myself smirking throughout so many scenes in the story.

Elise is a unique character in the story... polished, refined, yet, incredibly attracted to the brutish Tegan. All integrated into an unfolding, well-developed, paranormal drama.

What other book might you compare Midnight Awakening  to and why?

Kiss of Midnight, Book 1 with Lucan & Gabrielle is comparatively wonderful.

What does Hillary Huber bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The vampirical exchanges between the chief characters are sexy as all hell.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Lots of laughing and/or smirking.

Any additional comments?

The language and intimate scenes are extremely graphic... so this story isn't for the prudish at heart.

Third time is not the charm

I listened to the first book. I read the second book. Both were ok. The last book I had to force myself to finish. The story is ok but Elise annoyed me to no end. Teagan was great. The story lasted too long.

Excellent excellent

What did you love best about Midnight Awakening ?

I have read all of the midnight breed books and now have 3 on audible.. This is about Tegan and I love it. After being alone for so long, he finds his mate.

What other book might you compare Midnight Awakening  to and why?

not sure

What about Hillary Huber’s performance did you like?

I really love Hiliary Huber's narration. She is excellent. She has no trouble with the language. Doesn't come across as the least uncomfortable with it. Does very well with the male voices.

Great Series so far!

I absolutely love Tegan. But Elise really took my breath away. Talk about a chick who kicked butt. Who would have thought a sweet mother, could turn into a fierce stalking cat. A great couple, whose interaction kept me riveted. A wonderful listen. Lots of action, sex/love making, and a couple appreciating each others strengths.

VT. FAN

What did you love best about Midnight Awakening ?

THE NARRATOR

What did you like best about this story?

I LIKED FROM BEGINNING TO END. VERY WELL WRITTEN CHARACTER DRIVEN STORY LINE.

What does Hillary Huber bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I HAVE OFTEN STATED THAT NO AUDIOBOOK CAN EVER TAKE THE PLACE OF ACTUALLY READING THE BOOK. IN READING A BOOK MY IMAGINATION IS IN FULL SWING(IF IT IS WELL WRITTEN), BUT HILLARY HUBER IS ONE OF THE BEST NARRATOR I HAVE HEARD (JIM DALE OF HARRY POTTER AUDIO IS THE BEST). HUBER IS MASTERFUL IN CREATING THE DIFFERENT CHARACTERS VOICES MALE AND FEMALE. SHE GIVES EACH AND EVERY CHARACTER A DISTINCTIVE SOUND. I HAVE READ SOME GREAT BOOKS THAT HAVE BEEN DESTROYED IN AUDIOBOOKS DUE TO BAD NARRATION. HILLARY HUBER CAN TAKE ANY BOOK AND MAKE IT GREAT IN AUDIOBOOK FORM.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

WHEN HE PICKED ELISE UP INTO HIS ARMS TO HOLD HER WHEN SHE WAS HAVING MIGRANES IN HER APARTMENT. VERY TOUCHING SCENE WELL WRITTEN.

Any additional comments?

I WOULD PROBABLY PURCHASE ANY AUDIOBOOK THAT I WAS INTERESTED IN WITHOUT A SAMPLE LISTEN IF HILLARY HUBER WAS THE NARRATOR BECAUSE I KNOW THAT IT WILL ALREADY BE WORTH THE PRICE.
