Publisher's Summary

From bedroom performances to center stage, Memphis Black's dreams have come true.

Together with his band mates - Finn, River, and Billy B - he takes some time for fun in the sun in Miami while gathering inspiration to finish their first full-length album. Some down time before hitting the road to tour the country, spreading their kind of rock like an STD.

Tallia Priest, a preacher's daughter, grew up next door to Madison Black, her polar opposite and very best friend. Tallia has harbored a crush on Madison's older brother, Memphis, for a lifetime.

A boy like him would never notice a girl like her, yet he did...once.

After a tough freshman year of college, Madison invites Tallia to join her in Miami for a much needed break. Madison fails to mention they will be staying with "Steel Total Destruction".

When Tallia arrives, there is no way for a stunned Memphis to miss the transformation of the once awkward, innocent girl next door.

Forbidden desires must be hidden, lines cannot be blurred, and no one can ever know.

Will the heat in Miami tempt them even further? Will buried secrets destroy lives? Can a broken heart ever be mended?

It's all fun and games until someone gets rocked.

Bang Bang!!!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Most definitely!! It was funny, hot, sexy, and the storyline was great.

What did you like best about this story?

It kept me on my toes. I never knew what Memphis was going to say next. Kai Kennicot and Wen Ross did an amazing job as usual bringing this story to life.

Which character – as performed by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross – was your favorite?

I loved Memphis and Tallia. They're chemistry was undeniable.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved the attraction between Memphis and Tallia. Even though Tallia tried hard to deny her feelings for Memphis it was clear that they should be together.

Any additional comments?

I love MJ Fileds' books. She is one of my go to authors and I am never disappointed with a anything she writes. Her characters are very entertaining to say the least. They are so unpredictable and funny at times, but all are full of heart and the love they share is nothing but beautiful.

3.5 STARS A GOOD HARD ROCK LOVE STORY BUT...

I'm a sucker for handsome sexy Rocker stories and gorgeous, hot and talented Memphis Black fit my 'yes please Santa' list - a reformed bad boy, tattoos, a 'feel good' piercing and a heart that's eventually true to just one woman - Tallis. The girl he grew up with, the girl he drunkenly barfed over after giving her her first kiss, the girl that would inspire songs and she was the girl that he wanted forever with. But first.....

They were going to fight their attraction and the mutual chemistry that sizzled between them, they were then going to give in to their desires with steamy abandonment and there would be dramas and challenges along the way. Then, after shattered hearts, broken dreams and a 'no tomorrow's together' future loomed.... sanity prevailed, tempers died, the 'threat' was dealt with and they changed their lives, and futures, for the better. And that's the problem I had with this listen.... the angst and drama seemed to be over so damn quickly with no in-depth details and then suddenly, and way way too soon, I'm hurtling (Mach 3 style) towards the HEA ending.

It's a good but sometimes choppy listen..... a sweet climb of a tender romance between two people destined to become lovers but it seemed to go from all depth and intense feelings after a drama to the Epilogue in one Chapter - I nearly got whiplash! I actually went back to see if I'd missed a Chapter or three. This is a new Author to me and I will now search out other books by her and, of course, what really made this listen was Kai and Kat's conversational type narration where each of them stuck to their own genders which made for a wonderfully smooth listen. Dual POV's, sex, good banter, humor, emotion filled lyrics to sigh-worthy songs, a typical man-whore Rocker turned good guy, a shy, reserved, confused, timid Dancer who bagged the Lead Singer/Writer/Guitarist in an about to make it big Rock Group and good dynamics between band members and various secondary's characters.

Worth a credit? Yes, despite the all too short ending where I wanted to know the 'more' in between the angst, make up and the happy ever after's..... like the dramas, pitfalls and joys of touring together etc., but maybe I'm just greedy that way. I will definitely get the next book in the series.... and I'll be checking out The Men Of Steel asap!

Rock My World Star's

I loved the narrations! Wen and Kai bring this story to life.

Memphis is the big man in my eyes, very self assured and knows it. You know the type.
Tallia is more reserved and shy-ish. I say shy-ish because once this girl opens up she is explosive.

Watching these two dance around them selves was fun and funny. I loved how Memphis treats his sister with reverence and brotherly affection.

When all the band mate come to play its fun and a really great listen. I am glad we get to see some of our favorites from past books.

I did find the story a little lacking, I kind of felt like I was missing things even when I wasn't. Not saying its not a great book because I very much enjoyed it just not as much as I enjoyed some of the others by this author. <3

STD? Okay!

If you could sum up Memphis Black in three words, what would they be?

Moody, Sexy, Stubborn

What other book might you compare Memphis Black to and why?

Rocked (Lost in Oblivion series by Taryn Eliott and Cari Quinn) Rocker guy on his way up, falls in love and stumbles along the way until he gets the girl and his shot at the spotlight..

What about Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross ’s performance did you like?

They're a great storytelling pair. Wen can be a little stiff at times, but pulls off a convincing performance.

So Hot and Funny!

I just gotta start by saying I freaking LOVED this book. Loved the story, the characters and the narration. Memphis Black...Mmmm so hot. What's not to love about a lead singer of a band? I really enjoyed listening to the chemistry between the band members. I also enjoyed the progression in the relationship between Memphis and "the girl next door" aka "preachers daughter "Tails". The narrator's Kai and Wen did a phenomenal job, such an enjoyable listen. Highly recommend and can't wait to listen to the next one.

Love the Steel series books!

MJ Fields continues her incredible run with this branch of the Steel series. The band Xavier is promoting, STD has 4 members, the first we are getting to know is Memphis Black. A true rock artist, Memphis is enjoying the perks of stardom with his run of many groupies. When on vacation, his sister and her forever best friend Tallia come and stay with the band. You can feel the chemistry the minute Tallia and Memphis see each other. There is a lot of back story with these two because of growing up together, but the real test comes a quite the shocker. Both Maddie and Tales know a secret that could be damaging and Tallia is not sure she and Memphis can withstand the fallout. This alpha male is quite the man, you can feel his frustration, his anger, his passion straight through while trying to decipher the issues that come up between this combustible couple. With Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross narrating this book, you know that it will be impossible to put the book down. Bringing the characters to life with their voice chemistry keeps you listening til the very end as you wait to see if there will be the happily ever after!

Rock You My Way

What made the experience of listening to Memphis Black the most enjoyable?

I love the sound of Wen and Kai's voices... Wen's voice is Seductive and Raw, and Kai's is friendly and inviting.

What other book might you compare Memphis Black to and why?

Sinners on Tour series.... Its the whole Rockstar vibe and falling for one girl. Memphis is passionate about people he loves, regardless if he's angry with them or not.

Did Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

They did a great job, although I could tell that that were voicing different characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The conversation between Tally and Madison where the truth comes out behind the secrets. It was nice to know they had each other to lean on.

Any additional comments?

I want to know more about Finn, I'm anxious to find out more about him.

Enjoyable drama

I really enjoyed this one. I though it was funny and the tension was pretty palpable between the Main characters. Memphis was a funny horn dog who wants what he can't have. He's also the lead singer in an up and coming rock band. Tallia is his sister's best friend. She's a professional dancer and the daughter of a very strict reverend. They all had grown up together. They meet again after years when Tallia goes on a trip to florida to meet Memphis's sister. What doesn't know is that they'd be staying with Memphis and the band. Only she's not the little girl he remembered.

I really felt for Tallia because she obviously wanted Memphis but she was sitting on a huge secret. However she did make the situation a little more complicated than it had to be. Memphis kind of started out as a jerk; making lewd comments and barking at everyone but it was only because he was frustrated. The ending was a bit predictable but how they arrived to that point deviated rom my expectations.

I love Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott. Their narration style is absolute perfection.
