Dark Romance

This is a dark paranormal romance that kept me captivated from start to finish. The characters are in depth and enjoyable. The world building is on point. The narrator does a great job at bringing the story to life. I look forward to more from this Author.

Thoroughly entertaining!

Unique, entertaining and humorous! I enjoyed listening to Meeting with My Maker on Audible. The narration was animated and kept my attention. The Hotel Paranormal is quirky and bizarre - this book is really a departure from even the typical paranormal romances, but it works. All of the characters are interesting in their own way. Mac Bhriain and Annora are quite hot together - a demon is the ultimate bad boy! I'm not typically an audiobook user - I generally prefer to read in ebook format, but I've been recently listening to audiobooks while working or doing other activities and this story lends itself nicely to multitasking. I'm quickly becoming hooked on audiobooks!

A very unique and an intriguing and odd story

This review is based on an audiobook that I received. It is an honest review and the complimentary receipt of it in no way affected my review or rating.

'Meeting with my maker: Hotel Paranormal' by Calinda B. is a short story of Annora Lachmann and Mac Bhriain McCarrion. This is audiobook one in "The Hotel Paranormal' Series. This series has 16 books already what are written by various authors. This audiobook is about 5 hours and 30 minutes long that does have a semi closed end.

The narrater, Jeremie Burbey has a nice voice. He is easy to listen to. I always needs to get used to someone voice, but in his case it didnt take long. His pronounciation is very good. The sound quality is also good. it was nice and clear. Jeremie Burbey's acting skills brought the characters to life.

Even tough I finished this book I'm still not sure if I like or dislike this book. I'm a bit in turmoil. I definitely find this book very unique and an intriguing and odd story. Not so bad of read, short story, intriguing characters, a bit of humor and a whole lot of strange that’s for sure. Wasn’t sure if the book was for me , it might be for you.

Mac Bhriain McCarrion, a shadow specter from hell that is trapped in the walls behind in Annora room. I would more likely say trapped in the mirror in Annora room. A demon of course with
Annora Lachmann is human who really didn’t realize all the secrets she carried around about her parents

The characters were great. I loved how Annora's character developed as the story went on and how David and the Hotel were always there for her, changing according to her needs, and all. David is very funny. I really like his dry humor. However, Mac Bhraian was my favorite. That freaking horny demon was unbelievable. His occurrences made me laugh quite a few times and Min.. Oh my goodness, that hell horse was so cute and funny I wanted to have him.

So, if you feel like reading a steamy paranormal short novel, you should give 'Meeting with My Maker: Hotel Paranormal' a try. You won't regret it.
I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Unique

I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This was a very unique story. At least, I've never read anything like it before.

I found the book itself quite difficult to get into - the characters are boring and the plot felt like it was literally just the two main characters having sex (there's a lot of sex and bdsm, the latter of which Annora didn't actually consent to before Mac started). Annora is actually a really boring character, who adores her father and hates her mother. I don't really understand why she hates her mother. I personally liked her mother as a character. Mac literally spent the entire book looking for sex.

That being said, I really enjoyed the concept of Hotel Paranormal and David. I also really loved the cover of the book.

meeting with my maker

Would you consider the audio edition of Meeting with My Maker to be better than the print version?

I can't compare...I have never read the printed version

What other book might you compare Meeting with My Maker to and why?

I think this book is in an element all its own.

Which character – as performed by Jeremie Burbey – was your favorite?

Mac - I find it a little weird when a male tries to do a females voice & vice versa but he performed Mac great!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would but I listen at work.

Any additional comments?

this book is a little on the weird side...not at all what I was expecting. It took a little while to get into it but I'm glad I finished it. Can't wait to hear another one by Calinda.

“I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.”

Interesting Romance & Paranormal Combo

Any additional comments?

I've read a few of Calinda's works, so I was excited to listen to something of hers! It was really interesting. I loved the narrator. Jeremie did a good job of setting the tone, although maybe he did a little too hard on the creepy side for the paranormal/death aspect.

As for the story I thought it had a good plot and an interesting take on a romance novel. I really loved listening to this work. I think it added a new element to her work that I haven't experienced until now. A good book to listen to while doing errands or just relaxing in bed!

Different but Good take on Paranormal

This Audiobook was different from most paranormal books I've read. I like the spin this one had. It kept my interest peaked. The descriptions of the places, people, and paranormal beings helped me better visually everything. I enjoyed this audiobook.

Outside my normal genre

I really enjoyed some aspects of this book, and others not so much. The narration was very good, but the subject of the book just wasn't my thing. There is a lot of sex, but too much death for me. Typically I do listen and enjoy dark books, but I haven't listened to many paranormal books. (I think that is why I didn't enjoy it more.) My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I was voluntarily provided with this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher, and/or narrator.
