Publisher's Summary

Tragic is over and Rook is ready for the future - Spencer Shrike and the Sturgis contract! It's three months of body art modeling! That means three months of Spencer Shrike's paintbrush all over her body, three months in front of Antoine's camera, and three months of 24-hour filming for Spencer's Biker Channel reality show.

Wait a minute...what reality show? Maybe she should've read that Sturgis contract a little closer?

Sure, Rook's bank account is overflowing, but Ronin is angry, Clare is trying to escape rehab, Antoine is a worried mess, and Elise is just trying to hold everyone together. Rook's new family is about to fall apart before she even gets the chance to enjoy it. Add in a mysterious man from her past, a road trip to the famous Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, and a final show in front of the entire world where all her goods are on display, and you've got Manic - a sizzling erotic romance that will leave you begging for more.

Loved the Audible version better

I read this about a year ago and wanted to listen to the series again. I love it even more. Wow Troy Duran can talk me to sleep any night! Jennifer Reilly made the character of Rook so much stronger. Not that she was a weak character in the book, she wasnt., but I personally pictured her as a little girl. Not young, she was of age to have sex but small with squeeky voice. (in my head) but the audio brought it all together!! This series is a must read and must listen. Julie Huss is one hell of a writer and will take you on an emotional roller coaster. -Dink

Love the series.

I love the series. I'm getting ready to read panic. this series, especially this book as compared the the first book, Tragic is a little more vanilla but still oh so good. The narrator's are 5 star.

Very hot, sexy and mysterious!

What did you love best about Manic?

It was very intimate and mysterious!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Manic?

These questions are tough because you don't want to give anything away... but I found all of the interactions between Rook and Ford very interesting.

What about Jennifer Reilly and Troy Duran ’s performance did you like?

They were so believable. They embodied the characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The scene where Ronin tells Rook that he loves her.

Any additional comments?

Can't wait to see where this story goes. Good, solid story and narrating.

STURGIS

Would you consider the audio edition of Manic to be better than the print version?

Isn't the audio always better than the print? I, for one, love hearing these characters come to life.

What other book might you compare Manic to and why?

Tragic. Panic. Considering this is book 2 in the Rook and Ronin series, it only makes sense it is similar to the first and third books. It also reminds me a bit of Social Media by the same author.

Which character – as performed by Jennifer Reilly and Troy Duran – was your favorite?

Spencer--does he count? He's my favorite Huss man, so I'm going with Spencer

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The painting. Always the sensuality of the painting.

Book Two of My Favorite Series EVER!

Manic is the second book in the Rook and Ronin series. It begins where Tragic left off with the hero and heroine working on where they stand as a couple. There are a lot of hurdles that this couple needs to overcome to make it together.

What I like about this part of the story is watching as Rook and Ronin continue to struggle to be a couple. There are so many outside forces that come against them. Claire is drawing Ronin away and while Rook is slightly jealous she trusts Ronin. The thing is Spenser and Ford are pulling at Rook’s heart strings too. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t the same way that Ronin holds her heart but there are so many secrets still.

We learn more about the friendship that Ronin, Spenser, and Ford have both past and present. I love all these characters and the unique setting of the story. The possibilities of all the good and bad that can happen keep the reader/listener on their toes.

The narrators are excellent. Jennifer Reilly brings the damaged yet still naïve Rook to life. I feel Rook’s story in my soul as I listen to Ms. Reilly. She conveys the fear, joy, hurt, and love with her voice. Troy Duran is perfect as Ronin. I love how he helps the listener feel Ronin’s love for Rook while keeping him a little secretive. You can hear between the lines.

This is the book that made me fall in love with Spenser and Ford even though I didn’t want to all the time. (At least in Ford’s case.)

An Excellent job all around. When I first read the three Rook and Ronin books, I said this is my all-time favorite series. To this day, it is still my favorite series.
