Okay, kind of immature, bad male narrator

This book has some good points, like a hot firefighter as a neighbor. But both the H and h were immature in their own ways. The few hot scenes didn’t offset the lack of more depth for me. And the male narrator is horrible. Thankfully he only narrates the last chapter, which is also the cheesiest.

Parts of the story were amazing...

... But other parts of the story were INFURIATING. The female character was not that likeable. She kept wondering if she were good enough for the male character. (she wasn't)
There were weird holes in the plot that were never quite addressed... Also, the guy narrator at the end sounded old enough to be her DAD, not her lover. It was weird. I loved the first half of this story... But I couldn't make myself love the rest. But if you're looking for a steamy story... This is it! Wow.

Decent Read with some cra-cra moments!

Overall opinion: The H will drive you a bit nuts with her attitude towards relationships (basically she is an alpha-guy trapped in a female body) but eventually you find out why she is that way. Her cowardly attitude towards the end almost caused me to not finish the book.

The mom is a complete psychopath and needs a 2x4 with nails to the head. Her disgusting behavior towards the end towards the h will let you know why! The fact that the h agreed pissed me off just a bit.

The friends are good but can be a bit judgmental. They definitely improve as the story goes on.

The ending was definitely rushed!

I like story. I wanted to hear more from the male point of view BUT the Male narrator isn't good at all. I'm glad I didn't hear more from him

It was a good book. A little slow to start but glad I pushed on.

A Feel Good Book

Leah Mallach is an amazing narrator! You will love Cohen. He’s the boy that everyone roots for. I loved the chemistry between the characters. I loved the need and how it pulls you. You will feel it in the pit of your stomach. Some funny parts too that make you chuckle out loud.

Good story featuring a male "virgin"

This was a cute short story that featured a male "virgin" and a woman who was way more experienced and not looking for the same things he wanted. I use the term virgin loosely since Cohen, the hero, had done things that weren't intercourse so by that definition he wasn't "inexperienced" to me. I suppose since that meant he was a virgin by a cishet standard, it fit. I was lowkey annoyed that the blurb claims she's "older" but it was a 4 year difference, and they still in their 20's so 25 with a 21 year old wasn't really a significant old different so I laughed everytime Eliza made it seem like he was so much younger than her(the references were silly lol).

Now that I got that out the way, I loved their dynamic. He was a responsible young guy who hadn't done anything that would ultimately get a girl pregnant since he was trying to avoid being his parents; she was a woman who'd suffered way too many losses to count, so in turn it made her never seek long term relationships with men she could fall in love with.

It took soooooo long for the real loving to take place, and it was painful hoping every next chapter would have them down and dirty. But when it finally came, it was hot and worth it, and it was the best male virgin dynamic with a non-committal/more experienced woman I've read so far. The storyline will be hard to top with the next male virgin trope I read!

I was moved by Cohen's relationship with his mother and sister. His Mom needs to let go but he is so indulgent.
