When the two meet, Adam's commanding presence makes a startling but good impression on Susannah. The attraction between them is undeniable, but that is soon followed by wariness. Susannah had planned to marry a man who would do her bidding, not take over everything. It's her ranch, after all! Equally befuddled, Adam thought he'd be marrying a woman who knows her place, not a temperamental brat who could benefit from some time over his knee. Will Susannah learn to accept Adam's firm leadership and expectations?
Choose one of the two men, or take the return ticket and head home. It wasn't much of a choice. Celia had worked and studied so hard to have a school of her own. And she had known that they might be a little upset. She knew exactly what they had wanted. It was stated very clearly in the advertisement and she could probably read and write better than anyone one of them.

Will an ultimatum bring about the desired reply or will Rissa run like the wind?

As a former soldier, Jude Johnson is used to difficulties of all kinds during the arduous journey west, but he has never had to deal with trouble like Callie before.
Sarah has a new house in a new town and a new career. Everything she thought she wanted. She even has a wonderful new friend - and he lives right across the street. How could you not adore a man who is always there to help in the most basic ways, such as taking her garbage out when she forgets? Of course, she isn't really looking for a relationship and especially not one involving a man who has a rather shocking way of dealing with her tendency to forget things.

Despite her sister warning her off town Sheriff William "Dodge" Perkins, Marissa accepts his offer of a date that soon becomes so much more.

I want a wife who knows what it means to live off the grid, cook my food, and keep my bed warm. In exchange, I'll give her a lifetime of happiness in the form of my cock. But damn, Everly's more than I bargained for, and I don't think she has any idea what it means to be mine. Hell, I wanted a wife, but I'm not sure I know how to live with a woman.
Widowed Jo Flannigan missed her old fashioned domestic discipline relationship. Widower Kent Harrison was looking for an old fashioned woman to help him raise his child, and look to him as the leader of the household. Would either of them be able to let down their barriers and let the other in?
New Orleans belongs to me. You don't know my name, but I control everything you see - and all the things you don't. My reach knows no bounds, and my demands are always met. I didn't need to loan money to a failing family distillery, but it amuses me to have them in my debt. To have her in my debt. She doesn't know she caught my attention. She should've been more careful. I'm going to own her. Consume her. Maybe even keep her. It's time to collect what I'm owed.
From the moment she barges into his cabin uninvited, Tucker knows Dolly is going to be trouble, and it isn't long before she tests his patience one time too many and earns herself a sound spanking. The embarrassing chastisement gets her attention, but it will take quite a bit more than a few smacks on the bottom to teach her obedience, and the more he sees of Dolly, the more Tucker is forced to admit that he would love to be the man to properly tame her.

He takes her by surprise and instead of putting up with her humor, throws her right over his knee for a good, sound spanking. After moving away for college, Sage Worthington settles down to a job in the city and only comes back to her parents' ranch for weekends and holidays. Jake Hamilton thought he had his hands full when he inherited his grandfather's ranch at a young age. But he was shocked two years later when he was told he was to inherit his neighbor's ranch, as well, with one proviso. He was to watch after his neighbor's 19-year-old daughter, keeping her safe and providing a place for her to live until she married.
As soon as she steps off the train into the hot western sun, Charlotte Rose wonders if she has made a mistake. Leaving Boston to take a job as the schoolmarm of the small town of Weston, Arizona had seemed like a good idea, but the man sent to fetch her from the station almost changes her mind. The handsome but uncivilized brute who introduces himself as Max Harrison not only calls Charlotte by her first name, he even demands that she change her outfit.
When Piper Sinclair finds herself hauled in by a bounty hunter in connection with her family's crimes, the sheriff's word that she wasn't involved should be enough to make her captor let her go. But Wiley Easton isn't buying it. He's heard that a woman was involved in the crime spree that left several people - including his own father dead. If the sheriff won't lock her up until the judge arrives, he'll keep her captive and naked so she can't escape.
Liz will do anything to get away from her evil guardian, and she was prepared to disguise herself as a boy and look for work as a ranch hand. When Caroline, a stranger on the train next to her, sees through her "boy" disguise, and begs her to take her place as a mail-order bride, Liz doesn't hesitate long before saying yes. It's got to be easier than working on a ranch, and as a married woman with a new name, she'll be out of her guardian's clutches forever.
Wade Malone has been looking forward to his new bride for months, but when "Caroline" finally arrives, things don't exactly add up. For one, "Caroline" was supposed to be 25 years old; the woman who came off the train doesn't look a day above 16. He has a strong aversion to liars, particularly in a wife. But he's also a man who keeps his promises and whoever the woman is at his side, he's made a commitment.
That doesn't mean he's not going to handle his new bride very firmly indeed. Then, against all odds, Liz starts to fall for the no-nonsense rancher and his family. How will she ever keep him from finding out the complete truth about the switch?
Not a bad story beneath it all... just not executed. What a waste.... it is all wrong when women expect to stand in a corner and get their backsides blistered as punishment perceived by their husbands. Perhaps it's me but I find it entirely unacceptable! I got over the idea of a little spanking during love play used in a lot of books. (ok for some i suppose) But this is corporal punishment! It seems to be the point of the story rather than what is actually a good plot line. It wasn't even presented in any format that had meaning, it was supposed to be a general way of life. Could that be right in the way of the new west as our country grew...and I never heard of it before? Doubtful. The authors notes included that in her books "there are no explicit sex scenes but plenty of spanking" Maybe she doesn't realize that what that sounds like and what she presented are two vastly different things.
NARRATOR : Excellent! I would gladly listen to her again. She had a total lack of accents (chicago, western drawl, etc...) so I wouldn't expect her to excel where that was supposed to matter. But I never heard HER, but rather the story, as it should be. No pronunciation errors, stumbles, mouthy (wet, toothy, toungue, lips or swallow) sounds, etc... she was very good!
CREDITWORTHY? : No. Either buy it on sale or skip it is my recommendation.
HEAT FACTOR: None! zero.
