    Story
    "Lucky at last!"

I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author in exchange for an unbiased review.

Irishman Lucky Quinn has brought his young son, Otto, home to Echo Canyon to be raised. Though his mother is an Indian, Otto most resembles his father with blonde hair and fair skin and both his parents realize that it will be better, and safer, for Otto to live with and be raised by his father. Lucky and Otto live on the sheep ranch just outside of Echo that Lucky co-owns with Dr. Winslow Wu. Otto is surrounded by the love of Lucky and his friends, Win and Erin Wu, and Lucky’s Cheyenne friend Wild Wind. Even with all these people helping to properly raise and educate Otto Lucky realizes that the boy really needs a mother’s influence and love in his life.

With no suitable prospects in the town Lucky decides to follow the path that the town sheriff and his friend Win had used to find their beautiful wives. He’s not looking for love, but for a woman who will love and nurture his son. He decides to see if he can also help the townspeople at the same time by looking for a bride with some kind of a skill that could benefit the town as well. Lucky is a very practical man.

Leah Carter would like nothing more than to find a husband and start a family of her own, but her chances of finding a husband are not good. She is a skilled cobbler, but she is also deaf, making it difficult for her to find a suitable mate. She answers Lucky’s ad and is touched by his story. She is thrilled to find that he is completely understanding of her disability and pleased to know of her chosen profession. When they finally meet they are both overjoyed to find that they are very attracted to each other. There are many obstacles to be overcome but the couple manage to work their way through them all.

The joy of this book is watching as Otto begins to accept Leah as part of his new family and seeing how the other residents of Echo Canyon rally around and accept the new little family into their growing community. Babies are beginning to arrive all over the community and the residents are beginning to see that their little town can survive, even thrive, without the gold miners.

Lawrence Yaklin does an excellent job, as always, of narrating this story and I was very happy to listen to Lucky’s story and know that, even though he finally had to give up on his first love, he was able to find a true and lasting love with Leah and also have his son with him at last.

    Story
    "Highly recommended"

So much happens in this exciting and gripping story.
In particular, it is now Lucky's turn to find a Mail Order Bride and he does find someone in Leah, a beautiful but deaf lady. Lucky is true to form, loving, caring, hardworking and charming. They eventually work out all their misunderstandings and start on their adventure of life and living and both of them take care of his son, Otto.
We finally learn the truth behind the mysteries of the twins, Marvin and Shadow and see what occurs in their lives.
There seem to be a whole lot of new romances and weddings and babies in this book which made it all the more interesting as all the characters are woven together to bring us this most enjoyable book.
It sure seems to me that the more I read I this particular series, the better the stories.
Linda Bridey has done a splendid job of keeping me interested enough to want to read the next book in this series - very, very soon.
And our narrator, Lawrence D. Yaklin, has as usual used his voice to really entertain.
