Publisher's summary

Just in time for the holidays: author Linda Howard's beloved Mackenzies. Meet Maris Mackenzie - and the sexy stranger she woke up to find in her bed! Unfortunately, she had no memory of Alex MacNeil, the previous day… or the prize thoroughbred she'd apparently stolen.

Short Book

It was great to revisit the Mackenzies again. The book was short and I felt it could have been more developed. I enjoyed the book probably because I love the Mackenzies. I really would like the author to put Chance's book on tape. I have read both books before and enjoyed hearing them read. It was good Dennis Boutsikaris read this one as he did Mackenzie's Pleasure so it was the same voice.

It was good to have all the family in the book but only at the end. Others may not enjoy the book as much unless they know the history of this family. It would have been nice to have had some updates as to where the family was at this point.

I did not use a credit for this book because the cost was much cheaper than a credit cost. I can't complain it was money well spent. If you are looking for a quick listen - fun, short and a no-brainer this is the book for you.

CUTE!

Cute and easy listening. It would be a good book to listen to while commuting--not too distracting. Likable characters, especially the little girl that appears near the end of the book. Linda Howard describes her so well it's as if you can literally see her.... and her little antics makes you smile.

Well narrated by Dennis Boutsikaris .

More of Mackenzie.

Cute little story, romance was way fast, but to be expected in a short story. Defiantly could have made this into a full size story with some mystery added. Although Dennis Boutsikaris did a good job reading the book, he sounds older and maybe accountant type. Not the manly man, portrayed in the story, and it was mostly from a woman’s point of view. There is a lot of revisiting of the Mackenzie family at the end.

Mackenzies Magic

This book is outstanding and equal to all the other Mackenzie book's. Linda Howard has out done herself with this Mackenzie series. The only thing wrong with this book is it isn't long enough.

Maris is just as the title indicates, Magic. From a little girl to present her gift working with horses is legendary. She takes after her warrior, horse whisperer father Wolf. This story is fitting for such a remarkable woman. As I have read the series from the beginning (each story stands on its own as well), This lone daughter among so many brothers has shown herself to be strong and valiant. She would have to be to survive I think. That alone would make this story special. The fact that it is so much more is bonus.

I highly recommend this story and the series as a whole.

Not what I expected...

I bought this audiobook because I had read all the other books in this series and liked them. This story didn't measure up to the other stories, it was just okay. The story centers around the only MacKenzie daughter Maris and the man she falls for. Narration was well performed.

Short but sweet

Another book in the Mackenzie series. This book stands alone and has another view of this family

Entertaining novella and narration

This is a short, entertaining story with suspense, romance, and fun. Maris saves a price horse from being killed by greedy people for money. In the process she falls in love with an undercover FBI agent. The narration is very good except for the little girl's voice. This is a very enjoyable listen.

I want to be a MacKenzie

I am so in love with this amazing family and all their adventures. What spectacular characters, truly each comes alive including the cutest of all, the precious little Nic. There is so much spirit in the writing, I laughed and felt all the emotions that were written. The narrator is wonderful and I can tell he enjoyed every minute bringing the book to life. I’ve read the entire series. What a joy.

Maris finds her man

Maris Mackenzie wakes up in a motel room bed with a man with no idea how she got there. Could be the slight concussion getting in the way of her memories. As she talks with Mac, memories start to return of racing to the Kentucky stable to save Sole Pleasure from being killed.
In the ensuing conversation, details come out, and Maris comes to know who Mac is and what he means to her future. Once they deal with the bad guys, it’s time for the two of them.
The final chapter and Epilogue with the Mackenzie family is precious and priceless. Love it!
Boutsikaris does a decent job of narration.
