Loved It! Awesome Story; Stellar Performance!

It's rare to find a series where we get a tasteful story about an older women and a younger man; usually it's the other way around. Way to go Cole! I loved it! I think my heart stopped when Ivy realized her husband was leaving her for a younger women.

Nelson Hobbs and Tatiana Sokolov's performance was Stellar! They had me hanging on to every word, and I could feel the emotions Ivy went through! Kudos!

All I can do is ditto all the positive reviews on this one! Awesome story, well worth the time and credit! Enjoyed every minute.

Romance at its finest!

Lukas is such an amazing book boyfriend! Carian Cole draws his character as a tough, tattooed and pierced young man with a gentle "old soul". He woos a hesitant Ivy with kindness and honesty and only wants the same back from her.

"Lukas doesn’t belong here, I realize right then. He’s a Knight. A prince. A warrior. A Viking. He’s one of those men that fight for love ’til the end of time."

Ivy is reeling from break up of her marriage and is surprised to find herself so attracted to her young and sexy tattoo artist. Lukas helps her to see herself as a beautiful woman.

“Shh . . . be a kitten tomorrow," he whispers, his hand sliding slowly up my arm. “Be a cougar tonight.”

I can't express how much I adore this book and this series! I could read each book over and over to revel in the beautiful writing and all the amazing feelings as I fall in love with each character.
For this reread, I listened to the audiobook and loved the narrators, Tatiana Sokolov and Nelson Hobbs! They did such a great job of bringing to life Ivy and Lukas. Their seamless narration kept me fully invested in the story right from the opening page!

Another winner in series!

Another great audiobook in the Ashes and Embers series! This story is about Lukas, a tattoo artist and sometimes violinist for the band who is tired of only having superficial relationships and longs for a family. The heroine, Ivy, is a wife and mother and at the beginning of the story she finds out that her husband has been having an ongoing affair for over a year. He moves out and she has to find who she will now be, with an 18 year old daughter and a young son. She goes to get a tattoo as part of her new life and meets Lukas, where they both pretty much fall for each other. There are complications and some dirty backstabbing by her ex and a final decision to be made together, but it's a HEA ending. Great narration!

Awesome Author

Recently started reading Carina Coles books. Her writing allows one to be lost in the characters. One can relate to each in some way. I find myself laughing out loud and then crying . She is able to stir many emotions . Occasionally the performance of one of the narrators can be annoying....has a whiny voice. I often find it difficult to listen to all books in a series at once but not the case with Carina's. That to me speaks volumes!

This one may be my favorite

The tattoo artist living in an old church with stained glassed windows. While only 24, he is an old soul and you love him for it. Wanting the wife and family is all Lukas ever wanted. He meets Ivy, an older woman just coming out of an 18 year marriage with 2 kids. He feels the pull, but will she react? The chemistry between Ivy and Lukas is so great, you can't help but root for this couple. He is incredible, literally the perfect man. He has a past with hurt and depression, which he relives with Ivy by his side. She has a jerk(putting it mildly, I wanted to crawl in the book and choke him) of an ex husband, with Lukas showing Ivy her real worth. They are able to work out their age difference, bridge the family, but that is just not enough! There are several twists in this book that were surprising to me...waiting to see how the last one will effect the future of this couple!

Tatiana Sokolov and Nelson Hobbs narrated this dual POV. Love them both. Carian Cole writes incredible emotional books with some humor, gives her characters grit and backbone and picks the best narrators to give the stories life.

Best in the series

I like all the books in this series but this one is the best. Lukas is a great character.Very mature for his age. Ivy is a bit insecure but together they complement each other. No spoilers. If you've listened to the others you must hear this one too.

Ho hum

My least favourite of this authors books. Just a little bit boring after the excitement of her previous books. The narrators did a good job but I felt it was lacking in love scenes.
