Publisher's summary

Battered by the sea, Adam remembers nothing of his past, his ducal rank, nor of the shipwreck that almost claimed his life. However, he's delighted to hear that the golden-haired vision tending his wounds is his wife. Mariah's name and face may not be familiar, but her touch, her warmth, feel deliciously right...

When Mariah Clarke prayed for a way to deter a bullying suitor, she didn't imagine she'd find the answer washed ashore on a desolate beach. Convincing Adam that he is her husband is surprisingly easy. Resisting the temptation to act his wife, in every way, will prove anything but. And now a passion begun in fantasy has become dangerously real-and completely irresistible...

Intricate story line , had to focus to not miss any of the plot lines being brought together in the last chapters of the book.

I love a book to have multiple story lines that keep the action moving, and problems that have to be worked out to make the final smooth finish to the story. This book kept up the suspense right to he end. Very enjoyable story!

Great start to the series!

I read this book years ago. This time I listened to the audio. While the story is great, I did not care very much for the reader. This is a great start for the series.

Long chapters

I love the story just wish the audio version would have been for. After differently. A case of amnesia and a character needing the protection of marriage.

What an excellent book!!

This is such a well written story! The plot is deep and the story is emotional. The narration does such a great job bringing Rainey and Kenzi 's characters to life! I listened to this story and fell in love with this couple. You will love this book!!!

Start of a Series

I wasn't too excited about the description of this book, but when I was looking at some of Putney's other books, I realized this was part of a series: The Lost Lords. This is book 1 and audible has 4 of the 5 books. I had already read "No Longer a Gentleman" and had the feeling I was stepping into a story that had already started because of the way it referenced other characters, so I was pleased to figure out that this was the start of that series.

I like to start at the beginning, makes for greater understanding and allows the story to build. Despite the bland description, I found this to be an enjoyable read with likable characters. I will be reading the rest of the series.

Story is well crafted.

This is the first book in the Lost Lords series. It provides information that is useful in later books. The narrator made listening difficult at Tim’s. The accents were unrealistic.
