Wow! Most intense and beautiful yet!

I couldn't wait to write this review. Oh my goodness, this one is the best. Grittier, sexier, sweeter, bigger in every way! Zsadist and Bella have a story that moved me to tears, beyond words.

I read the first two and was intrigued to hear Zsadist's story. I never expected this book to have this much depth. I was in tears at the beautiful character that emerged in the end. The story is so much more than just Zsadist and his heroine Bella. This 3rd book of the series opens the door for much more to come. The side stories are not just distractions, but very compelling, Many characters that were meaningless to me before have become very interesting and likeable. Butch and John especially. And Bella... What a wonderful, strong and amazing female character. I adore this couple. But I warn fans that it's a painful journey to find the light at the end of the tunnel! BUT IT IS WELL WORTH IT!

This is a MUST READ. Narrator finally has won me over, and I can't imagine any one else telling the story. I have also become a much more enthusiastic fan of JRWard. I didn't seem to like the first two as mush as everyone else. I liked the second book a lot though. But now that JR Ward has set the stage and introduced us to the world of the brotherhood, I can see why she is so beloved by her fans.

SideNote: I have read reviews that people discussed being uncomfortable with some of the content. I don't agree with the point of view. But want to touch on it. Yes Zsadist and Phury had a difficult story from their past. But I would expect anyone with the open mind to read a fantasy novel would understand that the abuse suffered by the characters past and present is a part of what shapes them. These are vampires. What do you expect? It's not Buffy...
So I just want to warn sensitive readers that there are parts that are uncomfortable, but it's my opinion that it's not gratuitous. It's heart wrenching and intense, not just a light read.

I'm now ADDICTED!

I listened to this one first because all the reviewers said it was their favorite of the series. I would have immediately started listening to this book again if I hadn't become instantly and overwhelming addicted to hearing the entire series.

Absolutely without a doubt- best of the series

Zsadist is my absolute favorite of the brothers. This was one of the hardest books to read because you find out all that Zsadist survived through. Bella's love saves him, and the story is beautiful. I cried during this one. Freaking ugly cry tears, too. This book is amazing, and worth the ruined mascara. The development of their relationship was so deep and healing for both parties- it has remained my favorite of the series. (and then when you get to Father Mine!- Zsadist is the best!)

This is my favorite paranormal series. The characters are not pretty and perfect which makes them more relatable.

Another great story!

Lover Awakened is a blend of action and romance entwined brilliantly. I was frustrated by the thickness of the main male character, but I found that he rang true as I feel that same frustration when I am following my husband's logic. Through the story I still found myself hoping for the love to concur all and though it didn't go as expected it was enjoyable throughout.

Totally Addicted !

Before I was even finished with this book I was buying the 4th in series! I cant get enough of the is story! Thank goodness there is 10 books I don't know what I will do when it ends!

What made the experience of listening to Lover Awakened the most enjoyable?

The whole series is great to listen to, very entertaining. Very easy yo be sept away in the story. :)

I love this series my favorite part was when everyone noticed that his eye color returns to normal. Jim Frangione takes me deep into the story Awesome job. JR Ward changes what you thought you knew about vampires. Fabulous

beware long pauses

This is one of my favorite stories in the BDB series. However I was frustrated by the long pauses in the audio book. Many were in between chapters, while others were at random points in the text.

I am not sure why JR Ward added the epilogue to this book, as it was so out of place (20 months later) when the next book takes up before this epilogue.
