Just got into this series and LOVE IT !!

What did you love best about Lover Awakened?

So far This book is probably my fave in the series. What I loved best was the female leads determination and drive to get what or who she wanted no matter what. Couldn't help but root for the girl.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Obviously my favorite character is Zsadist the lead male. His back story was heartrendingly sad and yes I cried a bit. What made it all the more powerful was the love shown to him by his brother who is obviously suffering himself from unwarranted guilt. But it was amazing to watch as his character grew and finally got to a place where he could love himself.

What does Jim Frangione bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator was consistent. I have to admit tho that I would much prefer to hear different voices done for these characters though but still no real complaints.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

This story runs the gauntlet of emotions from anger, fear, self hatred, self sacrifice and love. it will take you on an epic journey that epitomizes the time honored cliche that love truly does conquer all.

What did you love best about Lover Awakened?

Zadist's story has always been my favorite of the series. I love Z's character evolution. I love how strong Bella's character is.

What other book might you compare Lover Awakened to and why?

This has the typical BDB format but Z's history is very ugly and the struggle he must go through to overcome it is heartbreaking.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator read in a mono-toned voice throughout the entire book until the last few chapters, then he decided to give the butler an original voice- one that was pretty good, I might add. Why he couldn't even read the sentence markings (sound more excited when there was an explanation mark or raise his tone at the end of the sentence when it's a question mark) is beyond me. You could tell how very uncomfortable he was with the unique lingo- such has "What's doing." This book and it's characters deserved better.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and no..... yes because I love this book and have read it many times....no because of the narrator.

I would buy this book all over again if only Phil Gigante would narrate! (hint hint audible)

Book 3

oh my, oh my, oh my! What a story of heartbreak, desperation, cruelty, renewal, reawakening, and rekindling! Not a sweet love story by any means and this story has a lot of heartbreaking tragedy, but it is oh so good! Pulled at my heart strings! Great plot, storyline, and character development!

Z is my man!

Man.. where to start here, that’s the question. Through the first books you get a glimpse of Z. Your first thoughts, (well mine) were that he was unstable, serial killer material.. and well he is but there is more to him than that! As time passes and you get to see him, for him, as a man you get to see he isn’t all that bad. Angry, a bit off in the melon yes, but then so are the rest of them. His past is hidden to a point. you see his scars, see his blood slave tattoos and know that he has some dark shit behind that curtain. Do you want to be all over him... (squirrels) wait.. what I mean was do you want to get in his face? Urm no. He would eat you for dinner, burn the carcass and dance on your ashes. As things come to light you get to see the real Zsadist.

When the lessers kidnap Bella, lord have mercy, that boy goes total commando, psycho, crazed stalker. Honestly it was endearing. He hadn’t admitted to himself (I think) that it was ‘because she was his… even though they all knew it. When he risked it all to see to rescuing her. he risks a sunburn he won’t recover from, then is shot but… he gets his girl out and keeps everyone away from her. We get to see a softer, sweet side of him as he cares for her. then the needing hits and I’m sorry but all bets are off. It’s official.. they were just meant to be.

Z is one of my top five Brothers. Yes I have a top 5 he is #2. The way he fell for Bella, the care and down right possessiveness he had for her was endearing and, yeah it was hot. (shrugs) I like a crazy bad boy. Bella was good for him though. For many reasons. But this book showed me, love can get you through so many things.
