Publisher's summary

In best-selling author Katie MacAlister’s Love in the Time of Dragons, suburban mom Tully Sullivan wakes up in a far-off place surrounded by strangers—many of them muscular, sexy ones—claiming to be dragons. They insist Tully is a dragon, too, and that she’s committed crimes deserving of death. Now Tully must disprove the allegations before time runs out.

Good book but HORRIBLE narrator

This narrator needs to STOP THE CHEWING while she is recording! She sounds like a COW CHEWING HER CUD!!
This horrible nasty sound makes the book nearly impossible to listen to!

Give the poor woman a glass of water!!!

Not even half way through the story and I don’t know if I can continue... the story is good but the narration? The narrator has good control over her voice but sounds like she is suffering from the worse case of dry mouth I have ever! It sounds like she has cotton balls in her mouth... you can hear her swallow every few seconds along with weird mouth sounds. The misophonia that this is triggering is beyond.... I can’t even concentrate on the story.

Struggling to finish

I loved the Aisling Grey series, the Silver dragons was okay. I'm having a hard time finishing this one. The stupid cute is leaning too far to the stupid for my taste. Tully's characterization is too much like Aisling. I love the narrator, but she needs to be edited for the swallowing and mouth full of saliva sounds, it's distracting. This lack of editing is a production fault, not Audibles or the writers or the narrators. Lazy, poor production. I think the biggest fault for me is the story at this point. If/when I finish I'll bump up or down my rating accordingly.

Sexy male voice! Sounded like Antonio Banderas

The story was okay but I did not think it was worth a five star. It was a bit flat and without any excitement. This book is the first in the series but the story did not finish leaving the next ones to complete the rest but at this point I’m resigned to not knowing the end. I’m just glad it was a book on sale.

Amusing paranormal adventure.

This book would have been perfect, but i can hear the narrator swallow. The story was entertaining and amusing once i got past the narrator.

Annoying narrator.

What did you love best about Love in the Time of Dragons?

Love the premise of the main character discovering who she really is and her prior affiliations.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator was just annoying. Her voice cuts right through me all of the time regardless of what character is speaking. The swallowing was very distracting. I've persevered hoping that the narrator would grow on me as others have. I'm within an hour of finishing the book, but I'm actually talking aloud to the narrator at this point just wishing it were over with.

Any additional comments?

If I live through this, I won't be listening to the other books in the series because of the narrator. I might read them instead if I still care about the characters in the end. I love Katie MacKalister's books and have listened to several and enjoyed them, but not by this narrator.

The catered Sarkany had me in stitches!

Would you consider the audio edition of Love in the Time of Dragons to be better than the print version?

Oh Definitely, Barbara Rosenblat is amazing! Plus I love being able to listen to the books while driving.

What other book might you compare Love in the Time of Dragons to and why?

All of the dragon series before the Light Dragon series.

What about Barbara Rosenblat’s performance did you like?

This woman is de bomb!!! I am still amazed how her performance has truly enhanced these crazy books. I love how she can give a voice to so many characters. The catered Sarkany was hysterical and her nasally impression of a character with a broken nose had me in stitches! I just love her impression of Jim! I just can't look at Newfoundlands the same way again. Bravo Ms. Rosenblat and I sincerely hope you haven't ruined me for any other narrators.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Oh yes, unfortunately for me I couldn't. But I found myself sneaking a little listening time every chance I could. Rush hour was nothing and I'm sure I had several folks looking at me strangely as I was chuckling or out right laughing while on the road.

Any additional comments?

I read the Aishing Grey Series a while back and did enjoy them. Unfortunately lately I've found my attention span isn't what it used to be and I get bored very easy. Not with these! I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed listening to the Aishing Grey, the Silver Dragons, and now the Light Dragons!

Annoying Voice Performance

I have read all of the dragon books but this is the first time I listened on audible. The stories are still fun but
Ms. Rosenblat's voice is very annoying. She swallows & smacks her tongue with almost every change in character. I can't continue with these books if she is the narrator.
