Publisher's summary

The New York Times best seller...

People come into our lives. Some stay, and many go. Some build us up, while most tear us down. They become our friends, our enemies, our lovers, our tormentors.

Christian Davison came into mine, and I knew I'd never be the same.

To Elizabeth Ayers, New York City had always been a dream. She's worked her entire young life to make it here.

Groomed to one day take over his father's law firm, attending Columbia University was Christian Davison's only option. Neither wanted anything more until they sat across from each other at a café table after being paired as study partners.

Christian wants her, but Elizabeth knows better than to give into their intense attraction. Yet there is little she can do to stay away. Lost to You is the prequel to the best-selling romance Take This Regret. A new-adult novella, recommended for listeners 17 and up. It's unnecessary to have listened to Take This Regret to enjoy Lost to You.

If I Were 18

Love the author and Andi Arndt, narrator . But I had no idea this was a book better suited for high school or YA.

Loved This Book!

Elizabeth captured my heart. I struggled with Christian. Could he commit? Could she NOT love him? The perfect opposites. Just the read I needed. Andi was perfect. It will be a book I will choose to cherish when I think love cannot win in the end.

Friendship...college years

When the only one giving your life approval is the one forbidden, the best you can hope for is friendship.
Faced with the obstacle of parental approval these young lovers learn how to grow without the support of his parents while relying on the love they share. Blending two different worlds with trust and friendship. College romance between the good girl and the bad boy.
When you meet your future far sooner than your ready for, you halt the process and beg for friendship instead. When life alters the course of your perfectly planned life throwing obstacles in the way you fight for it.

Narrator:
Solo performance by Andi Arndt. Andy is an excellent performer and I get why so many authors choose her. Yet she doesn’t have that male timber I desired. I would have loved to hear a male narrator perform the voice of Christian. I knew when purchasing this that Andi was the only narrator I just hoped she would have tried to change her tone to accommodate a male timber. As it stood I felt like Elizabeth’s point of view was strongest.

This was not performed word perfectly. In fact, Andi improvised in certain areas making it difficult to follow along with my ebook. I’m sure when this was written no thought went into having an audio companion. However, her ability to improvise improved the performance rather than hinder it.

Overall:
This had alternating points of view. I didn’t feel it was necessary to switch points of view. With using only one narrator this could have easily been a one point of view book.

This book was a short and quick read. Just when the reader becomes invested in their story it ends with a cliffhanger. Basically a few months of friendship is developed with an epilogue summarizing the last four years.

made me a bit bleary eyed a few times

They are young, but really great characters so far. Boy and girl are partnered to study together. boy spoiled rich kid - girl is poor hard worker. boy likes to party "to drown his sorrows" - girl is focused - WILL NOT LET BOY IN!

Great Read

Lost to You (Regret #0.5) was a great read by A.L. Jackson. Many people come and go from our lives. Elizabeth Ayers has always dreamed of going to New York City. Christian Davidsonwas groomed to take over his fathers law firm. They were paired as study partners and Christian decides he wants her. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author

Great series prequel!

I love AL Jackson's books! This audiobook is an excellent set-up to the series, with characters that invoke empathy and emotion. I can't wait to listen to the next book. The narration by the wonderful Andi Arndt was very good, but I wish there was another voice for Christian. That's just my personal preference, she did a fine job.

The summaries spoiled it for me

Knowing the outline of the series beforehand, I kept growling at the stupid behavior of these two kids. But I have to look back on myself at 20 and remember how much of a ignoramus I was then too and try to be charitable.

I’m totally in love with Andi Arndt’s voice.
