Publisher's summary

Loki Grant's first memories are of living in a crate behind an inn in Ayr, struggling to survive. Clan Grant saved him from his lonely existence and took him in as one of their own. But though the Highlands have become his home and he loves his adopted parents, Brodie and Celestina, Loki feels lost. Part of him is still that scrappy wee lad who relied on his wits to survive the streets, and he is not sure he belongs. The feistiest and most beautiful lass in the clan, Arabella, steals his heart, but when her father resists the match because Loki is not of clan blood, Loki decides to confront his past. He wishes to satisfy Bella's father by discovering his parentage, but he also hopes his quest will help him understand his purpose.

As far as Arabella is concerned, Loki Grant is the wiliest, brawest, and most handsome warrior in existence. She is determined to have him as her husband regardless of what her father thinks. So when Loki's search for his sire leads him into trouble, she rushes headlong after him.

Together, Loki and Arabella must discover the dark secrets of Loki's origins, for only by confronting the past can they hope for a bright future together.

Loki....The Highlander with Heart. 💗

I enjoyed the previous Clan Grant series of books by this author so when I discovered this new series I had to listen. This is a stand alone book but if you've read and liked the previous series I'm sure you'll enjoy this one too.

Loki Grant is a child in the previous series so it was nice to see how he's grown into a wonderful man. He was adopted into the Grant Clan and with the guidance of his family he is now equipped with the Brawn of a warrior and the heart of a gentleman. Bella is a girl who loves Loki unconditionally. She brings out the best in him. Together they have to overcome obstacles and prove that love is stronger than blood.

This is nicely written and narrated so give a listen if you enjoy highlander stories.

🌟 Note: I would only recommended this to adult listeners because of the detailed sex.🌟

Can't wait for the next book in this series

Not your typical romance. It was a nice change to read a novel where the couple are already in love with each other and never waiver in their love throughout the novel. And it was still an amazingly good storyline . Well done.

Pretty Good

I absolutely love the characters and their quick wit. The story line was good, accept their should have been a bit more of a challenge in obstacles in which they faced, the struggles were slightly unrealistic. I love Kiera Montgomery, and I will continue to be a fan. Overall, definitely worth the purchase. And Paul Woodson was fantastic.

Loved the book hope the other books will be as great. I listened to in one day. I will listen to this over and over again its that good.
The narrator was very good. Can't wait for the next books. There's some books you listen to and you don't care about listening to again. I never write reviews but this is a series you don't want to miss out on. Enjoyed very much.

Loki was too immature for my taste.

Okay, I was so glad when this book ended. The hero Loki was way too immature and annoying. The heroine had a couple of TSTL (to stupid to like) moments.

The story line and plot were just okay. Nothing great. I like my hero's strong and confident. This hero was not.

This was a struggle to get through. Sigh....

As for the narration. Not that great. He made the hero even sound immature. But I guess you could call that good since the character himself was.

Glad this was a free book on amazon and 1.99 for the audible.

LOVABLE COUPLE!!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Not sure!! It was faster then reading it.

Would you be willing to try another book from Keira Montclair? Why or why not?

Yes I like stories about Scotland's Highland Lairds

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Yes

What would have made this romance irresistible?

More action and more sensuality!

Any additional comments?

Loki Grant a very young street urchin abandon by his real parents and left to live in a crate outside a Inn in Ayrs. Loki has been adopted by Brodie and his wife Celestina Grant. Brodie is the brother to the Powerful Laird of Clan Grant. Loki never feels excepted by some of the other lads and lassie of Clan Grant even though his family readily excepts him and treats him love and kindness. One young girl Arabella who live in the Keep kisses him and promises to love him always. As the grow old enough to marry Arabella father will not except him. He doesn't believe that Loki is truly a Grant because he was adopted. Loki feels the only way for Arabella's father to except him is to find out who is natural born parents are. He hopes he is of royal blood or that he can do more exception deeds to garner Arabella fathers acceptance. Loki is a legend in his own time. He finds the man who is posing as his father but soon finds out this man is an evil, conniving villain. Who Plagues and terrorizes Loki and Arabella off and on through out the story.

The love between Loki and Arabella seems real enough. But the storyline seems rushed. The characters are not developed. The plot is over used and done much better by other authors. The author relies on the reader having read the other books in Clan Grant, but suppose they didn't? There is not much to anchor the story. But I do love a HEA and Loki does find happiness with Arabella and he does find his real father who is quite a surprise. Overall Loki was a pleasant light hearted story.

Lucky Loki

I have to admit that at first I did not think I would like this book but before I knew it, I was encased inside. I loved the love story that started at the very beginning they grew and grew throughout.Loki and Bella were a beautiful pair and the Grant clan was a powerful but loving clan. The narration was superb and the story was fantastic, It taught a lesson in why we should find contentment in where God leads us. The grass is not always greener on the other side!
