Publisher's summary

Emi Harrison has avoided her ex-fiance, Jack Cabot, for nearly two years. Her twin brother Evan's wedding is about to end that streak. From bad bridesmaids' dresses, a hyperactive sister-in-law, a mean girl with even meaner secrets, and too much to drink, nothing seems to go right for Emi, except when she's wearing her little gray dress.

When she speed-walks into Liam Jaxon's bar, things get more complicated. He's gorgeous, southern, and has no past with Emi. He may be exactly what she needs to prove for the last time that she doesn't need or want Jack!

Her favorite little gray dress has made an appearance at nearly every major event in Emi's adult life. Will it make another grand appearance when she least expects it?

Cute story

This is my first book by Aimee Brown and I found it to be a cute, easy story to listen too. It was a little refreshing to not have some of the hot/heavy romance books I'm used too.

Felt long. . .

I liked the storyline, but it started dragging on and on. Ended up just skipping to the end.

a good one!

I enjoyed this drama filled book. i was completely engaged from the beginning to end. I Did find myself wishing the book ended differently but was curious as to how the triangle would play out. but in the end she knew what her heart wanted. hooray for Emi, after all she went through with that evil vindictive woman who destroyed her relationship to begin with. great listen!

Light Reading

The story was a bit...trite. It was an easy listen. A great book for a beach read.

too too cute!

1st book I've read by Aimee Brown ...such a great style. At times funny, sarcastic, silly ... I can not imagine ... I am curious how she came up with silly thoughts or story line. Love the cover. a quick read for me ... I know when I got married ... I wanted my bridesmaids to be able to re-use their dress ... one even cut it shorter and make it more of a party dress. I would think more brides would realize that this is a smart idea.

Not to be missed. Very entertaining!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to my friends, daughters, nieces and their friends. Little Gray Dress is a very entertaining, yet relatable book. The listener with laugh, cry, and worry about Emi.

Who was your favorite character and why?

It's very hard to pinpoint one favorite character in this story. EMI, of course is sweet, vulnerable and hilarious. You can't help but root for her. jack's mother was a pleasant surprise. At first one would think she was a self-absorbed rich woman. Nothing was farther from the truth.

What about Stephanie Einstein’s performance did you like?

Ms. Einstein was able to capture the personalities of each character with her interpretation. Her timing and pacing was perfect and she had a pleasant voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I practically listened to this book in one day. It gave me the incentive to give my home a thorough cleaning. I didn't want to stop listening, so I kept finding chores to do while I listened.

Any additional comments?

I read this book first and I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to hear it come to life on audio. I would like to share my original review:

Little Gray Dress by Aimee Brown is simply a fun read to escape with while spending a day at the beach or cozying up on the couch on a rainy afternoon. Filled with as much humor as heartache, Brown sends main character, Emi Harrison’s life in a tailspin through misunderstandings, miscommunications and evil manipulations.

Ironic that the story revolves around her brother’s wedding, when the very thing that perpetuated her current status was her own impending wedding two years before.

Emi Harrison is not the typical ingénue normally found in women’s fiction or chic-lit books. Is she beautiful? Yes. Great Clothing? Oh, Yes! Especially that little gray dress. Does she have a strong support system of friends around her? She does. Is she stick thin? Absolutely not. Emi is a relatable, young, American woman. She has curves, large breasts and a full bottom, and men are drawn to her. She doesn’t wear a size two, and she makes no apologies for eating two decadent omelets at one sitting.

Page after page, I found myself changing my mind on how I wanted the story to end and who I wanted Emi to end up with. Was ex-fiancé, Jack the cad he seemed to be? And should Emi fall into the arms of the willing stranger she’d only met days before? Whoever she chooses, I want the best for her because she deserves it.

cute story, terrible narration.

I really enjoyed the story. It was cute and catchy, with a few good plot twists. The narration was terrible. at times, I struggled focusing on the story, because I was caught up with the poor attempts at trying to differentiate the characters voices. The majority of the book reminded me of Alexa's voice from Amazon.

Spoiler alert

The conflict resolves too easily. It’s hard to believe that everything works out so perfectly without much struggle... not very realistic
