Publisher's summary

Conveniently married, but inconveniently falling in love.

Sweetheart Morgan marries a stranger - her handsome next-door neighbor Josh - solely for college financial aid. But now she can’t stop running into him or thinking about him. Which is bad - because Josh has a serious girlfriend he plans to marry.

Things leap from awkward to agonizing when a well-meaning philanthropist compels Morgan and Josh to move into his mansion as “newlyweds of the year.” Their arrangement is purely hands-off, but now they’re sharing a house, and chemistry between them is skyrocketing. If they act on that magnetism, their whole plan could explode, and they could both lose what’s most dear to them.

Will Morgan’s heart survive being merely legally wedded?

Get wrapped up in the knots that new adults Morgan and Josh create for themselves in this marriage of convenience story with legal, ethical, and emotional consequences. You won’t be able to put down this inspirational, clean and wholesome listen set on the beach of the beautiful Oregon Coast.

Legally Wedded: A Marriage of Convenience Romance is Book 1 in Jennifer Griffith’s hilarious clean romance series Legally in Love. Each installment is full of romantic chemistry, laugh-out-loud situations, and dreamy kisses - all with a legal twist. Great for fans of Jennifer Youngblood, Julia Keanini, Christine Kersey, and Rachael Renee Anderson.

Good clean enjoyable different marriage romance

A great well written and easy to listen to funny, sweet complelling story. I loved the narrator he just had a way of taking me directly thru the story and really feel and enjoy the story. The characters are likeable and real it is a fun plot with a twist for a marriage of convenience. Morgan lossing her scholarship because her mother surprisingly earning to much on her poetry book she wrote. Josh with a similiar situation they decide to get married they rush into getting married so they can get the scholorships to finish school. However, they never really look carefully at the long-term consequences. I loved how Josh and Morgan get to know each other in a backwards sort of way but the narrator really helped you feel their chemistry sizzling just below surface. The audible version just really makes the story come so much more alive. I find with the audible the story is so much more exciting because of the different tones he uses, the inflection for different speakers and scenes, it makes you really feel. I voluntarily reviewed this copy and with be looking for more.

Sweet and fun read!

Sweet and fun read! I Listened to this book while I did chores, my usual way to go about the drudgery of chores, but I found my self wanting to listening to it all the time to find out how it ended. Loved that it was clean and relatable. The narrator was excellent in his read of the story and was nice to listen too.

Sweet Romance

The author offered me a copy of the audio book and I really liked it. At first I thought maybe it should have been read by a female because the beginning was told from her point of view but I found the narrator to be really good. He read with much feeling. Well done.

I have a love/hate relationship with marriage of convenience books. I love them but get so frustrated when the spouses won't articulate their love and get to the happily ever after part that I hate them. ha ha. It was a little disturbing that this particular marriage was done to perpetuate a fraud but I'm choosing to overlook that fact. I did like both the characters but got a bit frustrated by Josh's indecisiveness. One minute he acted like he was ready to commit to the marriage and the next he was meanly avoiding Morgan. Make up your mind already and then voice your decision! But if that had happened the book would have been a lot shorter.

Not sure how realistic the story actually is but I gotta tell ya that there have been times when I've wished for a Daddy-Warbucks-type to help me out in a pinch. Wouldn't it be nice...

The story is clean but there is a good deal of marital innuendo, making out and desiring thought processes. Lots of talk about physique and good looks which for me got old. We know you are attracted already. But it wasn't too graphic. It was more that the author was telling the reader that it was a knock your socks off kiss rather than a play by play of the kiss itself.

The author says she likes to write cotton candy books. And this is one. It was light, fluffy and sweet. I could envision it as a plot for a Hallmark movie actually.

I kinda liked that the mean dude/mean girl characters didn't turn out to be as they first appeared. Pretty decent people in the end.

Sex: marital innuendo, kissing
Language: no
Violence: no

Cute but a bit slow in spots

I jumped ahead at times when I got bored but it was a cute story.

Love these marriage of convenience stories!

Loved this marriage of convenience story by Jennifer Griffith. Two college students struggling to make ends meet come up with a scheme to fix it all. What a scheme and what challenges ensue. It is a fun book with quirky characters, a father who is estranged, a mom who has written a one-book wonder and a girlfriend working in Europe (or is she?), a plot filled with interesting twists and of course, the romance. And oh, the kisses, get your fan and fainting couch ready! I listened to a complimentary copy of the book and Glen Pavlovich did a great job narrating, which makes for an enjoyable listening experience. Such a nice feel-good story, you won't want to miss it.

Love this story!!

This was a great book!! I was a little thrown off at first by it's being read by a man (especially with such a deep voice), but he did a great job! I loved the characters and how the story developed! This was very well written!! it has a little steam (mostly in thought rather than action), but thankfully it didn't go any further or I wouldn't have been able to finish it.

What a wonderful story!!

I loved it from beginning to end. Josh and Morgan have a problem and it seems like marriage may be the only answer. So what if they've only known each other for a few hours. The problem is, Josh already has a girlfriend and it's not Morgan.
I love this narrator. His personality flows through the book and he makes the story come alive.

Loved the progression of feelings!

This is the first book I’ve read written by Jennifer Griffith. It was a great ‘marriage of convenience’ genre book! Sometimes in this genre, they are attracted physically so fast that you wonder after the HEA if it’ll last. Sometimes it feels like the author is in a rush to get to the end.

Not so with this book. We live through the growth from physical attraction, which never really ends, through emotional attachment and on to love. Ms. Griffith takes her time and isn’t rushing through anything. By the time we get to the HEA, we KNOW this one will last!

The reader does a good job- I liked that it was a male reader. He doesn’t use different voices, doesn’t ‘act’ and only at the very beginning is that an issue, as we struggle to know who is saying what. Later, when there’s less back-and-forth dialogue and more internal thoughts, it’s not a problem at all. He’s a really good narrator!
