Magic and the Sword

Corbett Blake had a gift in knowing things that would become the future. He was at the gravesite of his grandfather when things spin out of his control. He wanted to be a Knight, but he was sent to be an apprentice with a sorcerer. While there he gets news of all of his family tragedies. His father married for love, so he closed his heart from love. He is given his fathers sword, then his exciting adventures starts.

lost of everyone you love

this is a prequel that gives a little background on the series. I found that it was information that I can see helping when I finish the series. So much lost in a short time is too much to handle,

Family love

This was a great prequel and makes me want to read the rest of the books to see what happens. It draws you into the world and show that family love is strong. The narrator had an engaging voice. I highly recommend to read this prior to the series. I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.

Elizabeth Rose, this prequel brings sadness.

What a way to.open the door to another great series
of Elizabeth Rose's. Betrayal, Kidnapping, death,
a promise made by a Father.
Thank you, Kevin E. Green for another
great narration.

Solid prequel

This is a short novella to set up this series of the same name. The story is packed with background and introducing characters that I'm sure will be important in the following books.

Mr Green's accent worked perfectly for the story and his pacing, tempo and overall performance worked for me.

I'm now curious as to where this story will go and can't wait to move on to the first full book in the series.

Background

This prequel is the explanation for the Legacy of the Blade series. Good novella, it explains the family history. I quite liked Kevin's voice, EXCEPT when he voiced a female or child.

A New Knight

Wow, this is only the prequel to the series and I am hooked already. Narration was great and storyline keeps you wondering what will happen next.

Captivating prequel story

Corbett is a very young boy who dreams of growing up to become a knight like his father. To his disappointment, he seems to instead be gifted with the skills to become a sorcerer. Shortly after his grandfather's death, he is sent away to become a sorcerer's apprentice, he receives horrible news - his parents have both died, his newborn twin siblings have been abducted aboard a boat that may have capsized, and his younger sister has gone missing. What will happen to him now that he's all alone in the world? I enjoyed this prequel and I'm looking forward to finishing the series - it's definitely my favorite series by Ms. Rose so far!

I received a free audiobook copy courtesy of the author. My review is completely voluntary.
