Publisher's summary

Morgan Sherburn is a cop from Los Angeles who, while cleaning out her family's English manor house after the death of her great-grandfather, stumbles across her great-grandmother's journal from her trip to Egypt back in the 1920s.

Morgan has been told that her great-grandmother died in Egypt of a fever, but she comes to discover, in the pages of the journal, that her great-grandmother may have been murdered because of a mysterious papyrus, called the Lady of Heaven papyrus, which is still in the family's possession.

Enlisting the help of Dr. Fox Henredon, a prestigious British Egyptologist, to assist in deciphering the papyrus seems like a mistake at first. Dr. Henredon is handsome, brilliant, and skeptical, and when he and Morgan come together, the sparks fly. But when the dust settles and a strong attraction develops, Morgan is determined to go to Egypt to track the clues of the Lady of Heaven papyrus, which Fox has discovered to be an ancient document alluding to the tomb of the goddess Isis.

As Fox and Morgan dig deeper and deeper into the clues of the mysterious papyrus, old legends become truth, friends turn out to be enemies, and in the middle of it all, Morgan discovers the truth about her great-grandmother, which she could have never imagined. Along with the truth about her great-grandmother come discoveries and danger on a catastrophic scale.

Clever twists and ancient mysteries abound in this deeply romantic novel set in the timeless sands of Egypt, where ancient legends and modern realities collide.

I really enjoyed this book!!

This was a very fun book for the A summer listen. This romance adventure is one that I will probably relisten to again next summer. This was fun and it was different than the average romance adventure books. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did , as a sidenote - there's only a couple of inappropriate sexual scenes in this book that if you have young listeners around you will want to fast forward through but the book is well worth it for the credit.

Best book I've read and listen to in a long time.

In this book Kathryn Le Veque manages to create a brilliant story of adventures from England to Egyptian ruins, mysteries to solve, suspense to keep you turning the pages, steamy romance unsuspected twists and humor to cap it off. The characters are well developed and the heroin is a beautiful, smart gun wheel ding woman. The hero is a genius Egyptologist. What made this book one of the best I have listened to for a very long time is the outstanding talent of the narrator Brian J. Gill. WOW! His ability to create voices of young American woman, older American woman, and huge British man to Egyptian English accents was absolutely amazing. If narrators could get an Oscar, Brian Gill would have many I will be reading more books by this author and books read by the narrator. Lady of Heaven was well worth my time and money.

What an adventure!

I loved the plot and hung on every word. I wasn't as enamored with how fast the characters fell in love, but they had great chemistry together. This story could easily become one of my favorites because it included my favorite aspects: romance, adventure, as well as myths and legends!
The narrator was great too. I think he did a fantastic job with the voices.

great fun, great mystery

I loved the main characters, the instant attraction mingled with fun and sweet dialogue, without a lot of heavy sex. Brian Gill does a great job of narration, especially with different accents and characters.

Awful.

Just bad. Dull, uninspired writing. Trite storyline. Monotonous narration. Just don’t bother with this one.

Fun Listen

A romantic adventure with likeable characters. I know there are unlikely events/coincidences, but it is escapist fare and I enjoyed listening for 2 days while cleaning and walking my dog. I hope there is a sequel as the story could definitely keep going. Narrator: I usually dislike male narrators doing female-lead books but this reader did a great job with the 3 female parts. Kudos.

Really loved this story!

Having primarly listened via the Audible Whispersync version and occasionally reading, I found this best blend of contemporary and historical fiction. Well done and satisfying story line that was constantly engaging.
