Publisher's summary

Now Lee is free from the malevolent ghost of Morris Hawke, his clairvoyant gifts are expanding fast. Too fast for comfort, and he and Gideon find themselves wrestling with his unsettling capacity to see the future. In some ways this new power is wonderful, and Lee finds himself a local hero after predicting a flood.

But there's one aspect he can't bear, and that's the blind spot he sees when he thinks about the wedding plans he and Gideon have started to make. It's as if this event, which he wants more than life, simply isn't going to happen. He's troubled and stressed out, and Gideon decides to intervene, whisking him off to an isolated creekside cabin in the mysterious Cornish ria country. All is peaceful there, and the clamour in Lee's head subsides. It's time for companionship, peace, good food, and plenty of sex....

Then a young man wanders out of the woods and turns their blissed-out retreat into chaos. Kitto is harmless - a charming drifter, very handsome. To Gideon he's just a kid, flesh and blood and a bit of a nuisance. But Lee reacts with horror. Since when can Gideon - Lee's rock, his connection to the real world and sanity - see ghosts?

Mysterious midsummer is rising in the deep green Cornish countryside, and as the village gears up for the eerie Golowan festival, Lee and Gideon face their toughest case yet: a battle between the real and spirit worlds that threatens to tear their own apart.

This is a Good One

I struggle sometimes with Harpet Fox but love this series. I was a bit annoyed at first over the Kitto thing, but I ended up liking it quite a bit.

Awesome series!

You know, I’d hate to disappoint Gideon, but I have to tell you his fears (maybe it was predictions?) might just come true after all, this series does have a "Midsomer Murders" feel to it. Only with a darker and creepier edge to it. And I just love it, can't get enough, which is why I've been binging this series. I dare you not to.

To relieve Lee of some of the stress his growing power is causing him, Gideon whisks him away on a much needed holiday. They travel to an isolated cabin in the Cornish ria country for some much needed peace and quiet.

But if you've come this far into the series, you know that where Gideon and Lee goes, trouble is never far away. They have a habit of stumble into situations they never dreamed about. Their country vacation is no different.

Not all monsters are supernatural, some of them are real, and no one knows this better than Kitto, the beautiful young man no one but Gideon or Lee seems to be able to see...

I felt like the relationship between Gideon and Lee was solidified a lot more than in the previous books. The "honeymoon phase" was over and they needed to deal a bit more with the difficulties relationships brings, all the ups and downs and curve-balls that are thrown at them. Not all of which Lee can foretell. But through it all they do stand strong together and there's no mistaking the love and devotion they both feel for each other.

Tim Gilbert does it again. His narration makes Gideon and Lee come alive, he brings the creepiness and the haunted feelings Fox creates to your home. Just plain and simple, he's a great choice for narrating this series!

Review of Kitto

Just the kind of high quality story of suspense, mixed with humorous moments I can expect from Harper Fox! There is always an unexpected twist to the story’s outcome; a very balanced compromise of plots end between the normal and paranormal influences. These books are always a joy to listen to with Tim Gilbert’s narration!

Exciting

Harper Fox can undoubtedly weave an exciting tale of romance, intrigue, and mystery with low angst and lots of unexplained paranormal stuff. Lee and Gideon are definitely on my list of “favorite couples”.

I was once again captivated and moving on to listen to book #5-Guardians Of The Haunted Moor Guardians of the Haunted Moor.

Happy Endings

Talk about happy endings! I just noticed how this author spins some very dark themes and tales into lovely down to earth HEAs even without the mystical. I absolutely adore these two guys. Both story and narrator do a fabulous job making reader really feel in a short amount of time.

Ghostly Guests

Lee and Gideon are planning their wedding, well Lee mostly, and they've each picked out rings for the other, but something isn't quite right so they go away to holiday in a rented cabin looking for some alone time together. Only they never really seem to be alone because there's a young man who watches and then befriends them, but he's very strange. Could it just be the wacky weed tea they picked up at the hippie shop in the village or something more? Excellent mystery with ribbons and family ties
