Naomi must marry Dwayne Yerdin, a bully who reeks of sweat and manure and is the only one person who scares her worse than her father.

Then she meets Kai, the mysterious boy who brings her exotic new roses and stolen midnight kisses. Kisses that bring her a supernatural strength she never knew she had. As the big day approaches, Naomi unearths more secrets of about her father’s cult. She learns she has power of her own and while Kai may have awakened that power, Naomi must find a way to use it to escape Dwayne and her father - without destroying herself.

Suspenseful & Emotional, a Great Listen!

Who was your favorite character and why?

The tension at the beginning, with Naomi's family and the mysterious events happening around her really draw you in. It's a unique and well told story.

MUST READ!!

At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like this fantasy romance type book. It took me a couple chapters to warm up to it, but all I can say now is... Give me more! Naomi is a young girl who many can identify with, living in an abused neglected situation with her parents. She finds love fantastically unexpected. If you like romance, and you like a good book with amazing character, do yourself a favor and buy this book!! I can't wait to listen to more by this author!! I also have to give props to the narrator for keeping me in the moment and full of emotion just by the different voices and the way she makes it so easy to distinguish from one character to the next!

Loth did an excellent job keeping me interested

Nine times out of ten I would have rated this book a 2-star or lower. This is almost never my type of book. The teen angst, sudden magic ability, love triangle, surprise villain... all these thing usually add up to a big disappointment for me. But Loth did an excellent job keeping me interested despite all the reasons I could have had to hate it.

I think at least part of my enrapture with the book came from listening to Emma Lysy narrate the story. It never felt like someone was reading me a story; it felt like I was watching a movie. She did an excellent job portraying each character and their emotions.

Who says a kiss is just a kiss?

What did you love best about Kissed?

The dynamics of the two parties trying to keep eachother in check despite one or the other going rogue.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The brothers earn a tie spot. They really made for good sibling and love triangle dynamics.

Which character – as performed by Emma Lysy – was your favorite?

Dwayne...I hated this guy with a passion! I wanted to punch him in his hillbilly face. He was voiced perfectly...drawling and dumb as rocks. It was awesome!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely too heavvy for one sitting, but there were days I put off a few tasks to keep listening.

This is a story for someone else

this is a well-written story, identifiable characters that you can see due to very good writing. It is a bit too real for me though it would be great for others. The narrator is what kept me listening long after I knew I wasn't interested in the story. Emma is superb.

Incredible!!!

Very well written. Quite original,
Fantastic performance!

The only mistake that stood out was that the location fluctuated between Las Vegas and Los Angeles. It's an oversight. Aside from that.....stellar!!!
Eagerly awaiting next book.

Very unique story that draws you in page after page.

Wow. What an original story concept. Just the right amount of supernatural mixed with a little romance. The story progress smoothly. The character build up is well executed. You become attached quickly to the characters and begin to care for them wanting to know what's going to happen next after each page. Kimberly Loth has created a unique and magical intriguing world that seems like it could really exist. Or maybe I just wish it did. Ha ha. Lots of fun to read and I enjoyed listening to it as well. The reader's voice fits the main character perfectly. Made it more believable. Highly recommended.

Kissed

"This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast."

I knew this was a young adult genre, and I love reading or listening to them in hope of finding a good one to recommend to our high school librarian.

The novel started out with a female protagonist that draws your sympathy . I found myself rooting for her to have a better life. I was not fond of any of the male characters. All of them seemed controlling, demanding and possessive. In this battle of good vs evil it is hard to figure out who is good and who isn't. I liked the theme of roses worked into the plot, and a few of the twists in the plot. The ending was a bit blah. I'm not sure I would read more of the series.

A great start to a new Y/A series

Would you listen to Kissed again? Why?

No I don't relisten or reread a book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Kissed?

When she brings the roses back to life in the greenhouse.

Which character – as performed by Emma Lysy – was your favorite?

My original review was lost so I cannot remember the main characters name. The young lady that was discovered she was a shade. I will follow this series.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
