Publisher's summary

When Mia Turner's brother goes missing in Mexico while on an archaeological dig, she believes that life couldn't get much worse. But when she's blocked at every turn from finding answers by both local and US authorities, she must turn to a man she swears is the devil.

Others might be fooled by his private jet, fine tailored suits, and disarming smile, but Mia knows something dark, sinister, and unnatural lurks behind those penetrating, pale-gray eyes. And the more she learns, the more she realizes she may never be free again.

Amazing Book, great Narrator

I really enjoyed this story.  Strong  MC , story line  and perfect amount of humor.  I love the way the author has the ability to drag you in to the story.  The suspense it's killing me, can't wait to read/ listen to the next book.

review of the trilogy.

I purchased this book based on the high reviews. Mimi has a very wild imagination that's for sure. I really liked the concept of the storyline, however, the main characters were both painful. Mia spends this book asking goofy questions to a point I just started fast forwarding. I found it frustrating that Mia made rashly, stupid choices that endangered not only herself but others as well. The introduction to King whom growls, controls and dismisses Mia every chance he could.

Book 2 King is missing and Mia makes a plan to save him. Mia is a little less annoying in this book, but she continues to put herself in danger with no clue what she is doing. She is so obsessed with saving her brother throughout these books I prayed the author would just kill him so I didn't have to hear about saving his dumb a++ again. You figure out that King is a supernatural and slowly you get a glimpse of his life.

Book 3 Flips the story in a total 180 turn. This book is really the whole storyline in a nutshell. You have to strap in cuz this is fast-paced and a mind Bender. I liked this book, it is unique look at the effects of hexing someone, I loved Mac through these books so I would read a story about him should the Author write one. He is the most likeable character in the whole trilogy.

Beware of some possible trigger subjects: Kidnapping, beatings, murders. Torture, human trafficking and close calls on rape.

Love K.M Fever series? You will enjoy King.

"I am the man who can find anything or anyone. For a price. And my price is you.”

This series has a VERY similar (some say to much) flavor to the Mac & Barrons relationship, which is why I enjoyed it.

I like the Alpha paranormal hero and if I can find more heros that remind me of Barrons then I am in.

Enjoyable story, decent performance

I enjoyed the story in audio form. This performance was decent, especially the voices and accents, but the majority of the story sounded very breathy and unfortunately they did very little sound correction to the voice as it had a metallic undertone which got distracting. However, I do give credit to the narrator for making the story otherwise enjoyable.

WOW.... IT'S EVERYTHING YOU'RE NOT EXPECTING

Right from the start this book draws you in and the more drawn in you get the more mysterious, thrilling and unpredictable both the plot and Mia and King's dynamics become. King is ruthless, arrogant, a bad-ass and has a 'doesn't give a shit' attitude but somehow you can't help but be mesmerised by him. Mia is strong, caring and will go to any lengths to save her brother..... but she doesn't realise just what a frightening and nightmarish turn her life is going to take the more she is sucked into King's world

I won't even try to describe the plot except to say that nothing is as it seems and there's so many twists and turns you'll end up dazed. Don't expect romance because there isn't any but Mia somehow feels drawn to King and he puts his possessive mark on her however I don't think there will be any romance until maybe book 3. No, at the moment there's only been a few hot touches and body-to-body sizzles but nothing more.

It's told from Mia's POV by a very good Narrator who gives each characters a voice of their own and she manages to do male voices with ease. The deeper the plot pulls you in the more sinister and paranormal the story becomes and that's thrilling, chilling and very entertaining because, at the end of the book, you're left with more questions than answers. And the very very best thing is that you don't have to wait months to find out what unexpected twist Mimi Pamfiloff will throw in next because the whole Trilogy is available now..... and guess where I'm headed to next? Yup book 2.

Worth a credit? Expect the unexpected, have an open mind, don't look for an earth shattering romance or tender words yet and be prepared for a paranormal turn to the Trilogy. This book is the slow click click click as the roller coaster gently climbs to it's pinnacle and you're left hovering at the top desperately holding on with your pulse pounding waiting for the scary, thrilling and emotional ride that'll plunge you into the depths of the unknown. And, if you like the sound of all that, then you too will find this a creditworthy listen as I did.

I'm back after finishing the third book.

I will give the most relevant details here that we all hope to find out before buying a book:
A. This is a series of three books
B. All three are free if you have Audible Romance
and C. This series rocked my world so much harder than I ever could have imagined it would have. I suppose one has to weigh the pros and cons; do you have several hours to listen and want to get lost in a story of freaking soulmates of an epic scale yet be lost for about 2 out of the 3 books? If your immediate answer is "heck no" than this probably isn't the series for you. That said, if you can handle some teasing and feeling as in the dark as Mia as well as handle some emotional turmoil while wondering what about this guy could ever be worth loving, you're on the right track! Don't worry though, I promise you it's worth it in the end. It's a lot of sadness and pain along the way though... the story of these two isn't what I thought it'd be where it's the typical girl dislikes the guy but falls anyway ordeal. It's so much more than that but to say more would spoil it entirely. The issue here is that the author has no way of keeping you around until book 3 since you're in the dark for a lot of the series about what's going on behind the scenes and things just aren't adding up. When I said we get teased as listeners it's no joke, patience will be required as well as either sociopathic tendencies like King has or plenty of tissues and maybe a place to listen where you can scream at the characters with no one around so you don't look like a loon. I haven't been so emotionally invested in characters in a while and these two made my heart ache for their story. They go through so very much and I just ask that if you think it too much or something, stick it out. It all makes sense in the end. This is like the very beginning and it's basically just getting to know the very basics but in reality, we learn next to nothing! like I said, a test of patience. The storytelling though... it blew me away in all three books which is why I listened to all three in less than 2 days and came back to rate the first book; I wanted people to know how freaking amazing this series is. Just prepare yourself for some intense occult stuff!

Intoxicating

King is an enigma. This is the kind of book you pick up and can't put down! The narrator was fantastic! It was easy to be drawn in to Kings world. The mystery and intrigue are spot on! It's a great read!

Left hanging...

Great story line and narrating, leading up to what though...would've been more excited about a better closure or ending ...is this more like a "to be continued"?
