Publisher's Summary

Lark Wainright, 23, has nightmares. She used to be fearless. But while overseas for her nonprofit employer, she was kidnapped and held at gunpoint in a dusty shack. Everyone has an opinion about what might have happened to her there, but she's not saying much. She's too consumed by guilt to talk about it.

When her best friend offers her a stay at the Shipley orchard in exchange for help at the farmers' markets, Lark jumps into her little car and heads to Vermont. Unfortunately, the night terrors don't stop. Desperate to keep her fragile state a secret from those who know her best, she relies on the most soft-spoken resident of Orange County, Vermont, to calm her down when her dreams prove too much.

Zachariah, 23, is a survivor of a different kind. It's been three years since he was tossed aside by the polygamist cult out west, the only home he'd ever known. In Vermont, he's found a peaceful place in the bunkhouse at the Shipley's farm. He's good with animals, and he's good with his hands. But getting thrown away by your own people at 19 leaves a mark on a guy. And he doesn't always know what to make of a world where apps and movie quotes are the primary means of communication. Before hitchhiking to Vermont, he'd never watched television. He'd never spoken on the phone.

Actually, there are still a lot of things he's never done.

Zach and Lark slowly grow to trust one another. One night they become even closer than they'd planned. But Lark may still be too broken to trust anyone. When she shoves Zach away, he will have to prove to himself that he's good for more than farm labor.

Perfect story and Perfect Narration! Loved it!

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! Zach melted my heart and Lark was so perfectly matched for him! This series has been awesome from book 1. I thought book 1 was my favorite, then book 2 came out and became my favorite now book 3 has blown them both out of the water! Most series don't get better and better with every book but this author is great and out doing her last book every time!

Zach lived a very sheltered life, he is hard working, shy and came out of it all perfectly balanced. Lark lived a normal life until something happened to her that has broken her and made her retreat into her fears. Together these two find a way to be exactly what the other needs. I love that they are so honest with each other. I also love how this family/adopted family all take care of each other, they are all very considerate and caring with each other and it makes my heart happy with every book. I can't wait for the next book but I honestly don't think it ill be able to move Keepsake into 2nd place on my LOVE list for this series.

The narration was perfect. They were both cast perfectly for these characters.

Great story and narration makes this a favorite of the year!

This was my favorite book of the True North series from Ms Bowen, the story line dealt with difficult traumatic pasts and she wrote it masterfully revealing raw and beautiful strong characters. Erin Spence and Teddy Hamilton's voice performance are excellent. A favorite of this year so far!

Romance and healing under the apple trees!

Keepsake is the third book in the True North series and could be read as a standalone, but really each of these stories is so good and shouldn't be skipped.
Lark, working the season at the Shipley's farm, is trying to hide the fact that she is still suffering from night terrors and possibly PTSD after a recent kidnapping ordeal. Her only relief seems to come from Zack, a young worker at the farm who is still adjusting to freedom himself after being beaten and tossed from a polygamist cult 4 years earlier.

"Sometimes the end of a stage in your life doesn’t announce itself with trumpets or fireworks. Sometimes it just seeps in, like the smell of snow on the air as fall gives way to winter."

Each book in this series has a unique tone and feel but a common thread of hopefulness. The goodness and kindness of these characters comes through in each page.
I listened to most of this story on audiobook and what a great job the narrators did. My heart completely broke when Teddy Hamilton voiced Zack's pain.

"Four arms braced me as I fell apart, right there on the grass beside the cider house. The first sob sort of broke a dam inside me I hadn’t known I had. I’d never cried before. Not that I could remember, anyway."

I love this book and this series and really hope that this isn't the last we see of the Shipley family.

Fantastic - such a beautiful, sweet story

Would you consider the audio edition of Keepsake to be better than the print version?

I love how the narrators bring the story to life. They did a wonderful job here. It is a sweet, sweet love story that is extremely well narrated.

What did you like best about this story?

I really loved the characters - especially Zach. We know him from the previous two books in this series and it is great to finally get his POV. I love how Sarina lets us visit with old friends in her books and introduces some new ones each time. I hope she continues the series. Now, if we need a Ivy League/Brooklyn Bruisers/True North crossover. I would love to see one of those hockey players end up in Vermont!!! Sarina Bowen is the best.

What about Erin Spencer and Teddy Hamilton ’s performance did you like?

When it comes to audiobooks, the voices performances are EVERYTHING. Erin Spencer and Teddy Hamilton are amazing. I loved Teddy from HIM and he does just as good a job in this book. I'm usually really picky about the female voice performance, but Erin did a great job. They make the story so much more than words on the page, they get right into my head and live the characters.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book made me smile and laugh and even giggle in a few places. It has some serious moments too, and all were well done.

Any additional comments?

I hope Audible brings more of Sarina Bowen's books to audio. She writes such terrific stories.

LOVED LOVED LOVED

I absolutely adored this series. I thought my favourite was Griff (from book 1) but then I got to know Zach. He must be the most lovable book boyfriend EVER. What a great addition to an already great series. I loved this book.

I really have enjoyed the books I've read by Sarina Bowen. I am going to make sure that I read/listen to all her other books in the near future.

As for the narrators, I loved them! Both of these narrators are new to me and I definitely intend to listen to other work by them.

This was really good

Finally a love story that is more than 'I see her, Im horny... I see him, I'm horny'

It seems like a lot of the 'love stories' ive been reading belong more in the erotica section. This book however, is about more and actually made me feel things emotionally. Its written well and performed well. I like both of the main characters and the support characters. I will read more by this author because many of the other books are pretty much the same lately.

Tough horney woman meets man..clash, bam, drama, bam done.

Another thing I liked about this book, she was able to make the male character loving but in no way feminine or weak. Really well rounded book :)

Oh Zach

This is the story I've been wAiting to hear from this series and it did not disappoint.

Zach was kicked out of a polygamist cult, Lark is damaged from a third world abduction. Together they try to heal until it's obvious that Lark needs professional help.

The entire story was gripping and enthralling. I didn't want to turn it off and it's not lost on me that the narrators made every second important. Teddy and Erin were perfection. Their voices matched the characters and the sound quality was professional.

2 Broken Souls + 1 Apple Farm = True Love

Who knew that apple orchards in Vermont were such healing places. I love this love story between the rich and worldly Lark and the virgin at life, Zachariah. These two are so cute together you can't help by cheer them on just like the audience to their first sex scene. I've never been to Vermont but now that I have finished this 3rd book in the series, I'm thinking Vermont is a must see -- maybe even this fall. Sarina Bowen writes such captivating stories that you just can't push that stop button until the end, not even for sleep. The narrators did a good job, however Erin Spencer/Ava Erickson would drop character sometimes in her male voice. But I do think they were a good fit for this story.

Definitely worth the credit. I have listened to the other books in the series and it's hard to pick a favorite -- so I won't.

The Wait Was Worth It!

Any additional comments?

Sarina is Unstoppable with her 3rd Book in the True North Series. I loved the story of Zachariah and Lark. Zach melted my heart with his innocent ways. Sarina draws you in and keeps you wanting more from all the characters in the True North Series. I loved how she had a different set of narrators for each set of characters in each book. All the narrators did an excellent job and were perfect picks that truly personified the characters they portrait.
