Nice Quick Story Horrible Narration

I've tried to avoid writing a review that mentions race, but Audible please stop white-washing Black books with white narrators it's like nails on a chalkboard to my ears.

Left me flat plus the very very wrong voice for this story really annoyed me all the way through

Just ok

This book was just okay. It was very predictable, but if you just want something to listen to then I recommend it.

I've read all of Brenda Jackson's books

I loved every one of them ❤️, some more than once.
And I'm so glad they were placed on audible so I could listen while driving

Erotic

Loved the storyline BUT there were waaaay too many explicit love scenes. One, maybe two, would have been sufficient.

Performance needs to be redone.

The voice MUST match the cover. Representation TRULY matters. The performance was painful to get through, as soooo much was missing in the depth, and sass.

Loved the story but...

This narrator is horrible. I've read the book before, so I knew I wanted to add it to my audible library. However, I didn't expect the narration to be so bad. Maybe a part of the reason is because I read the book before listening to it but this lady wasn't a good match for my vision of what these characters look and sound like in my mind. I hate that I had to say all of that but the book was otherwise good, the narrator just wasn't for me.

Sweet But......

I love everything Brenda Jackson and this sweet little story is no exception but it was hard to enjoy it because of the narrator. I just never got the tingles and sensations I usually get when reading about "Black Love." The narrator did a good job but she didn't spark any emotion within me and I had to keep reminding myself that this was a Brenda Jackson book and the story was about black people. I'm so accustomed to hearing Ron Butler's voice narrate BJ's books and I will be looking at the narrator before purchasing new 📚 written by Brenda Jackson. Since I didn't get the pleasure I've come to expect when listening to a BJ book I'm gonna have to find one narratored by Ron Butler (right now) to replace this one.

Kept me intrigued

I enjoyed the story line very much; I certainly did not expect the ending regarding the 4th women!
On the other hand I did not like the narrator, she almost made me not want to listen. I have to say I really forced myself to finish just because each chapter kept my attention.
