See examples Daniel Zavaro and Quincy Watson:

As the rising star in Houston, Daniel has found fame as captain of his pro soccer team and the city's most eligible bachelor. Daniel has everything - except someone special - and that suits him just fine. He doesn't want, or need, complications.

Quincy has baggage, and lots of it. After a tragic accident spins her world on its axis, she finds herself as a single mother, raising a newborn nephew she never knew she had. Between parenthood, her full-time job, and dealing with the suffocating grief of losing her sister, every day is a struggle. When they begin to cross paths unexpectedly and often, an unlikely friendship starts to evolve. Feelings change. Lines get crossed. What happens next surprises them both....

Before they know it - they've been juked.

Such a great storyline

This book had such a great storyline and I was so into listenig when BAM
it was over. I thought the ending was way too rushed. I mean the H gets cold feet , disappears with no contact for over a month.... that calls for some grovelling people! He can't just show back up, say I'm sorry and be invited in for coffee. But that's kinda what happened. I wanted....no.....needed her to at least be mad for a minute., tell him off, cut him off, something!!!! Such potential but was left unsatisfied in the end.

Cute story

Likeable characters. Cute storyline.

Steaminess level was simmering, with a couple of hot vanilla scenes.

Narrators were good.

No cliffhanger.

ENJOYABLE AND SWEET

Since I’m in Houston this was a bit closer to my heart bcuz I love our soccer team. Overall the story is well written and narrated. The sex is not as hot as I like it but it was enough to make me say Ummmm. I think my followers will enjoy as a light Sunday listen.

More than I expected!

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I started this book, but was very pleasantly surprised and am now telling every one of my reader friend that they have to read it!
It’s got heartache. It’s got heat. It’s got all the messy involved in a young relationship and it was wonderful!

Light but sweet .

I Like that this book's storyline is different than most books. I enjoyed seeing a woman portrayed as being strong and hurt without all the yelling and hateful talking. This is who more women in books should be like.

Carter has a winner with this story!

This is my first listen to this author, and I will plunge into book 3 (I don't care of the storyline of book 2) after I write this review. Quincy's strength and resolve despite the flaws of human nature shine in this book. I really enjoyed the character development Carter did with Quincy. Daniel .... was not my cup of tea ... even as a fictional character. I found his overall character weak, in my opinion and commitment phobic. Despite that minor criticism, I enjoyed the story line and enjoyed every minute of the listen. The sub characters also added to the development of the H/h relationship. Ultimately this book emphasizes the importance of friendship and communication in addition to the physical aspect of a relationship. I used a credit and would do so again!

Loved this one!

This was a great romance between unlikely people. He's a soccer player and she's not sports minded at all. The relationship developed and she got to know him better as well as the sport. I don't usually go for sport themed books but I liked this one a lot. Narration was great!

HEART BREAK, FROM THE START .....

JUKED is quite an emotional book, where we first meet Quincy being given her a nephew she knew nothing about as her little sister who she'd brought up had suddenly died in a car crash & had put her as her next if kin & for Chance to go into Quincy's care
And this is when Soccer Star Daniel comes into their lives, just by chance, to help her with infant things like formula diapers & such likes. But then they bumped into each other again & they started a friendship, which I'd say was a beautiful one, including when it became a friends with benefits kind of one.
But then what a jerk did Daniel became after Chance called him Da-Da this one time. He just Cut All ties with them even though he called Quincy his best friend & it was during this time she needed him.
Tell You What if some one did that to me & said you were BF, would you be able to forgive them, even if you REALLY NEEDED THEM, WHEN CHANCE'S BIRTH FATHER DECIDED BECAUSE 'MUMMY' WANTS TO BE A GRANDMOTHER,
He decides to come & get the child he always knew was out there...
But here is when Daniel turns up thinking he'll be forgiven with a large bouquet of flowers....So Would You Forgive Them?? come & see if Quincy keeps hold of Chance & Forgives Daniel
