Publisher's summary

Signing with Brighthouse Records was supposed to be everything we ever wanted - our better life. Our chance at everything we never had but always wanted. All our dreams would finally come true, and we were on top of the world.

It was our chance at the happiness we never had in life. Our every desire was at our fingertips, and the power of that feeling was all-consuming. But then it took every dream we thought would come true, and it slapped us in the face with the cold, hard reality.

Dreams were just that...something that floated on the cusp of untouchable, taunting you with every graze of your fingertips before slipping even further away. Happiness...that feeling is a joke.

In the end it became painfully obvious that each of us would always have each other, but we would forever be alone. Contains mature themes.

Chance Gets His Love

If you're a Harper Sloan fan that followed the Hope Town series then you're familiar with Chance. I love that he got his chance at love and this is the first book in a new series but this is a bit of a weak start to a series. The rock band Loaded Replay made an appearance in the first book of the Hope Town series and that was Chance's first encounter with the lovely lead singer Wren. Now he's hired to be her bodyguard and there is instalove. The suspense and drama lacked the intensity you would expect when a rock star is being stalked. While Chance and Wren make a cute couple, there wasn't a buildup to a substantial relationship that could stand up to the pressures of life on the road. This is an interesting start to a new series and I will definitely give the next book a try.

The narrators were okay, I just didn't get the rocker vibe from them. And I love Joe Arden, I just don't know if this was the story for him.

This book was worth the price I paid. I would pay for it again.

Give Me A Chance

I enjoyed this audio book. I love the story of Wrenley and Chance and I thought the narrators really did a fantastic job with the feeling and emotions throughout the story.

No Action- BORING

I’m on chapter 20 and still the story line I hasn’t developed! It’s just dialogue between her and her band! I’m sure there is a plot... I’m ready for something to happen!

Predictable

The sexual tension between the main characters is well-written and a couple of scenes made me laugh, the overall story was too predictable and easy to figure out who the antagonists were and how things will unfold. The emotions described weren’t backed up with enough depth of experiences to lead up to and create such heavy emotions between the two lovers.

"Our relationship will never be measured by time"

I love Sloan's writing and this book did not disappoint! I am also really glad this is part of a series! I was familiar with Chance through the Hope Town series and was not surprised he was having issues after everything that happened. I was glad when he fit perfectly into Wrenlee's life. Wrenlee had a pretty crappy childhood but between her brother and bandmates they tried to make the best of everything. This was a great feel good story. I am excited to see what is in store next!

Harper has done it again! 5 star +++

Loved this story! So happy there was a connection to Corps Security as that series is one of my favorites. Lost Rider is next, even though I usually don't read "cowboy romance" I have to because it's Harpers!
