Publisher's Summary

It's Christmas in Half-Moon Hollow and newly turned vampire Iris Scanlon-Calix wants to make Gigi's first visit home from college as normal and special as possible. It's taken months for Iris to work up the nerve to spend time around her baby sister after her vampire transition, so she enlists help from Jane Jameson and Company to keep her blood-thirst under control and assure Gigi's safety. Gigi, on the other hand, has problems of her own, including the demise of her relationship with high school sweetheart, Ben, and a looming job interview with Ophelia Lambert, the scariest potential employer in the Hollow. And then there's the small matter of the handsome, frustrating vampire who keeps appearing in Gigi's peripheral vision, then disappearing before she can talk to him. Can the Scanlon sisters negotiate romantic problems, vampire politics, and Christmas cookie disasters and enjoy a relatively normal holiday?

Clever Christmas Cheer!

Don't miss this free holiday gift from Molly Harper -- it's delightful. If you're already following the series, you will recognize many of the characters of Half Moon Hollow. If you're not, it's time you're introduced. This is not the usual romance story -- more like just a holiday gathering of the whole wacky group. It is told from Gigi's viewpoint and is full of the usual humor and snarky remarks between characters, plus there are some holiday recipes given at the end. Amanda Ronconi is awesome as usual.

Take advantage of this free download and add some fun to your Christmas season!

A quirky & snarky Halfmoon Hollow Christmas gift

A Halfmoon Hollow Christmas gift from the wonderfully quirky & snarky pen of Molly Harper.

If you haven't read any of Molly's work before then I suggest you give your self an early Christmas present and do so now, starting with Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs: Jane Jameson, Book 1.

I'm Dreaming of an Undead Christmas is a short story that manages to bring together all your Hollow favorites and covers Gigi's return home to the Hollow from college and to her married recently turned vampire older sister Iris (The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires Half-Moon Hollow, Book 1).

This books only issue is it finishes too soon . . .

Amanda Ronconi does her usual excellent narration, bringing all of Molly's wonderful quirky characters to life. I hope the pairing of this dynamic duo of author and narrator continues in future releases.

A feelgood Christmas tale that will brighten your day and bring a smile to your face

Enjoy

Very good Half-Moon Hollow Holiday Story :D

4 stars

This was a very enjoyable story. It's not a full story but more of a holiday short that lets us Molly Harper fans see our favorite characters for Christmas and get some of Gigi's story.

This story is told from the PoV of Gigi, Iris' (from The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires) younger sister who has been away at college. Iris turned vampire while Gigi was away (a planned turning) but has been very nervous of attacking her and so Gigi hasn't been home in months, finally getting to come home for the Christmas holidays.

The story basically entails Gigi and Iris reconnecting and finding themselves again as sisters now that many things have changed. Meanwhile, Gigi is interviewing for a job with the Vampire Counsel (which none of her family is happy about) and she has to handle her declining relationship with her high school sweetheart, Ben. Not to mention she believes she's being followed by a vampire that can disappear in to thin air...either that or she's going nuts. It gives an interesting glimpse in to Gigi's head and also we get to see all our Half-Moon Hollow favorites for the holiday.

The story does leave off with some unanswered questions about things coming up in Gigi's life that gives a good indication that she'll probably get her own book soon. This was a humorous holiday story, everything we'd expect from Molly Harper. Amanda Ronconi did a great job on the narration as usual. I'd recommend it but it's probably best for people that have some familiarity with Molly Harper's book set in Half-Moom Hollow. :D

Only problem it's not long enough.

What made the experience of listening to I'm Dreaming of an Undead Christmas the most enjoyable?

Amanda Ronconi is fantastic with voices and emotions. Molly Harper always makes me laugh out loud

What was one of the most memorable moments of I'm Dreaming of an Undead Christmas?

There were many but when Gigi gets home and Iris is afraid to confront her.....and has all her pals there to make sure nothing happens....It's a real Halfmoon Hallow moment.

What about Amanda Ronconi’s performance did you like?

As usual She is fantastic in this series. I've heard her doing other series as well and she's a fantastic narrator.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I wouldn't bother, I love these audio books and they're better than going to a movie.

Any additional comments?

Can't wait for the next Halfmoon Hollow book to come out. Molly Harper you're just fantastic.

Made me smile. Also made me glad it was free.

I was pleased to get this morsel as a Christmas present from Molly Harper and audible.com.

This novella is a Christmas Special for all Half Moon Hollow fans. The gang is all there, even if assembling them is a rather clumsy process, there's a little bit of mystery, a confused love life, humorous disasters and just enough of cameo appearance from each character to remind you why you liked them without telling you anything you didn't know.

In the glow of the Christmas Tree lights and warmed by some good wine, this story slipped through my mind without causing any disturbance other than the occasional snort of laughter, until it ended more abruptly than even a novella should. Suddenly, I was listening to recipes being read out and wondering "did I fall asleep and miss something?" - well, it happens, especially with the wine and all - but it turned out that the story stopped without really ending.

If you're not a Half Moon Hollow Fan, don't start here. Start with "Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs" and savour the fun from the beginning.

If you are a fan, be encouraged, it sounds like more fun stuff with GiGi and the truly frightening Ophelia.

Gigi & Christmas in Half Moon Hollow

This was more of a 3.75 star, not quite a 4-star because of the very slight cliff-hanger.

this is Novella was both Gigi's story and a Christmas in the Half-Moon Hollows story. It's been 3 years since she went off to college. She is still dating Ben, although they've hit a rut, and she is coming home from the first time since Iris followed through on her promise to Cal. Both sisters are a little nervous, but it is obvious these sisters missed each other.

I loved this story. I love how Cal has really taken to his role as "man in the house" with gusto. Iris and Cal are still going strong, the whole gang, Orphelia, Jane etc make appearances in this Christmas edition.

Expect the same quirky narration by Amanda Roncini, expect the same kind of humorous story and expect the same kind of light-hearted, fluffy, yet entertaining story as the previous two stories.

Amazing and funny story

If you could sum up I'm Dreaming of an Undead Christmas in three words, what would they be?

Christmas-spirit, Love & Family

What did you like best about this story?

The parts were everything is falling apart - it's just amazing that so much can happen to a single person. Besides that is still funny to hear the story from the "human" side - and it keeps the line - that I've seen in the other books in the series.

What about Amanda Ronconi’s performance did you like?

She is so good at this, - accents and changing voice to the different persons in the book.. its so nice to listen to her.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

YES! I've some serious attacks of laughing.. It was so funny at some places, and the strange stalker is interesting. I was totally hooked on this book..

Any additional comments?

I think it will be played again very soon :D

Short but sweet

Not a long book, but entertaining. Lots of seasonal mayhem and the gang's all here. Really, this is setting up for the next book in the series, but it's a worthwhile story in itself.

A feel good read

I have only one complaint, it's too short.
Basically, GG, Iris Scanlon's baby sister comes home for her first Christmas since Iris became a vamp. Contains our usual cast of hilarious characters with the usual pratfalls and foibles.
Adding to the general Christmas mayhem is GG taking a job with the Vampire Council working for Iris's nemesis.
...And, she's being stalled by a super handsome guy.

If you've got 3+ hours to spare, buy this...or if you're taking a road trip, you'll be smiling and chuckling all the way.

Unexpectedly delightful.

I've never read a vampire book before, crime novels and romance are my usual reads. So glad I decided to try this one. It was a good paced, funny book.
