Publisher's summary

Bliss Russo thought nothing exciting ever happened in her life. Until her building caught on fire and she had to be carried out of the flames in the arms of a gorgeous fireman. Sure, her apartment is now in shambles and she'll have to start her huge work project completely from scratch. But at least her love life is finally looking up…if only she can find her red-hot rescuer again.

Dragon shapeshifter Drake Cameron is the last of his clan, and the loneliness is starting to claw at him. He's met only one woman who might be able to stand the shock of his true nature. After all, she barely batted an eyelash when her home burned down. And feeling her curves against him was just as hot as the inferno. Just when he thinks he'll never track her down, she walks into his firehouse-with no idea what she's about to get herself into…

Somewhat Satisfying

I love supernatural stories and happily ever after but this story didnt intrigue me, I gave it a chance by listening entirely. The story jumped from one thing to another and didnt give enough back story. I you want a quick not all in compassing story, this book is tolerable.

Overall enjoyable

I skipped the first in the series after reading reviews and felt it didn't hinder the story. The world was interesting, though the story felt a bit rushed. I enjoyed the narrator's depiction of Mother Nature. The heroine felt a bit more saccharine than I think the author intended. The biggest issue I had with the story was the authors unintentional, or intentional, connection of fertility to worthiness. Since many of us with those problems struggle much of our lives with feelings of inadequacies and more, even with considering the whims of Mother Nature, the connection feels like a bit of a blow. It won't stop me from checking out the next in the series though.

Dawn's Review of How to Date a Dragon, Book 2

I really enjoyed this book! The narrator was fabulous and really made the story come alive. The way that the author wrote the characters had me laughing out loud a lot!

The story is about a woman named Bliss who is trying to win a TV show competition for cards. Her attitude comes out in everyone that she writes (Hallsnark). The male role is played by Drake. He's a fireman with an added bonus of being fire proof because he's a Dragon.

One night Bliss's building catches on fire and Drake is on the scene. After he brings her to safety, she convinces him to go back in and rescue her laptop from her apartment. He does, but gets in trouble for it. While he's on suspension, Bliss drops off one of her Hallsnark cards as a thank you and an apology.

When she takes a job as a part-time cocktail waitress and moves into the apartment above the bar to make ends meet and have a place to live. Drake comes in with flowers for her and gets another Dragon that had her eyes on him jealous. She starts setting fires all around the city so that she can drive everyone crazy and then kidnaps Bliss. Bliss gets rescued by a God and the other Dragon is pissed!

I'm not going to ruin the ending of the book. It made me laugh out loud. I loved Bliss's scene of humor.

GAH!

I listened to this book for “FREE “ on the romance package on Audible. The story was so sophomoric that I can only cringe that I wasted my time listening. I can’t even compare it to a cheesy B rated movie. The reader was was as boring as the story. Don’t waste your time.

Skip this

I try really hard not to be negative about books because someone put their time and effort into creating a story. With that being said, I couldn't finish this one, past chapter 2. It fell super flat for me. Hard to tell if it was the narration or just the story itself.

Nope

The story line itself is okay. They try to be sexy, but it’s so very off. The heroin is supposed to be sassy and sexy but it always falls flat for me and I just feel like the hero is... well he’s lame.

Ok, but I felt like I was misled on the recommendation.

I chose this book because I really enjoyed Darynda Jones' Charlie Davidson series and this was recommended as a read-alike. While I can see the "snarky heroine" similarity, it ends there. It seemed the tone of the writing was more juvenile; the hero was a kind of "gee willakers" I hope I get the girl kind of guy.

Sadly lacking in personality and story.

The dragon is supposed to be over 500 years but behave like an uncertain 20 something with frankly not much to brag about in the brains department. The female love interest is so boring you have to wonder what attracts the guy at all. The "bad guy" is a female dragon who is absolutely ridiculous and seems to have been even more unfortunate than the male dragon when intelligence was handed out. The story is so thin that only the most stubborn and persistent listener will manage to hang on until it's over. Really, if it hadn't been for the fact that the narrator does a good job I wouldn't have even if I always finish a book.
