Luca and Skylar

Luca, while hiding from the mafia, witnesses a small plane crash on the beach. He rushes to assist any victims (he was the first one on the scene). Skylar, a young reporter, is covering the story hoping to make a name for herself. She goes to Luca's building looking for the person who came to assist where she meets Luca. He sees her try to open the gate and her dress gets caught on it and rips. The start of their relationship begins then with Luca lying to her (she asks a million questions) so she doesn't find out about his past and to try to keep her safe. Bruno is the mafia boss that Luca is hiding from. Analisa is Bruno's cousin and the one who told Bruno about the book Luca wrote about the mafia. Luca's family was killed and he came to the U.S. to hide out at his uncle's estate until things blow over. Unfortunately, Luca had a very short relationship with Analisa and she wants him back after getting out of the mental hospital (she cuts herself). She discovers where Luca is staying. Oh boy, a lot happens in this book – romance, action, and suspense.

Matthew Davis did a good job with the narration. This is my first book by Ms. Lush and it was thoroughly enjoyable. I really like her wring style. I was given this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Great Read

Dirty Lies (Burning Secrets #1) was a great read by Tamara Lush. Luca Rossi is a wanted man who's waiting for justice. He's hiding in Florida while on the run from the mafia. Skylar Shaw is an ambitious young reporter who's determined to make her name with a scoop. A tragedy happens and Luca ruses to help the victim. Skylar tracks him down looking for a story. They cant fight the attraction they feel for each other. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

.Skylar is entranced by Luca despite...

Skylar has worked hard to become a journalist. She has aspirations of writing articles that have relevance. Luca is in Florida, laying low after traumatic events altered his life. With a threat to his life ever present he is perpetually vigilant. A chance meeting between the two will only be the beginning of a dramatic turn of events. Their attraction to one another is visceral, ensnaring in them in passion and burgeoning emotions. Skylar is entranced by Luca despite the fact he is shrouded in mystery and secrets. Luca is enchanted by Skylar but fears he is undeserving of her in his life as danger stalks him. I enjoyed the book, the narration enhancing the story.

An intriguing story, but not a lot of sex

I did enjoy the book overall. Once I got over the narrator doing the women’s voices, I was fine.

Mafia story with a twist

This was a fun and at times suspenseful read. I enjoyed all the characters and the way the relationship roadblocks went up and down. The story flows well and creates great anticipation for what happens next whether it is suspenseful or sexy it keeps you focused. Matthew Davies did a great job of bringing the characters to life through his talented narration.

LOVED IT!

I absolutely loved it!. This book was full of action, suspense, humor and romance. The narration was great and will keep you entertained. The author does a great job with the character builds and plot. This was my first book by this author but definitely not my last. I look forward to reading more books by this author. An Easy 5 Stars!

Wow! This was such a good book. It kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning all the way until the end. I loved Luca, the mysterious smooth-talking Italian man, and Skylar, the journalist looking for her next story. Together they had so much sexual tension and chemistry together. This book is full of secrets, intrigue, danger, murder and romance. It is easily a 5 star book in my opinion, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves romantic suspense.

I thought Matthew Davies did a great job bringing all of these characters to life. He did very well with female voices and Italian accents. I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Complex

Dirty Lies by Tamara Lush pulled me in from the beginning. The main characters of Skylar and Luca appealed to me. The storyline is original and full of steam, suspense, and sexy times. Romantic suspense is how I would categorize this book, and I loved it! Matthew Davies did a great job adding to the book with his narration. He gave the characters individual voices and had wonderful accents. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to more books by the author and narrator.

A Suspenseful Romance

This tale is about two people who have their own personal demons to deal with while trying to help each other. There's mystery, suspense, longing, loss, romance, steam and some humor. I enjoyed listening to their story and following them on their journey to their HEA. I will be looking forward to the next book in this series. The narration was well done by Matthew Davies, although his female voices could use a bit more difference. I thought he really brought the story to life and helped to make this an enjoyable listen.

Suspenseful and Intriguing!

This is the first book in the Burning Secrets Series. This is a great romantic suspense. The storyline is complex, intriguing and suspenseful. Skylar and Luca are great characters and they share a sizzling chemistry. Matthew Davies did a good job with the narration. I'm looking forward for more books written by this author.
