Publisher's summary

Anna McCormick seems like a cliche; from her basic coffee orders to her relentless drama; however she is more than meets the eye. Join the journey of Anna and Trevor Sullivan through the laughs, tears and heartbreak. Meet the Clairetown crew - each character is more interesting than the next! Anna McCormick is every girl after a break up - she is vulnerable and seeks attention in the wrong places. She is easy to love and hate at the same time. Trevor Sullivan is almost too good to be true. He seems like he is perfect on the surface, but there is much more to him than meets the eye. Benji Shaw is the perfect boy next door. He has a bit of a hero complex and wants to fix everyone's problems. Tanya Rosen is the quintessential popular girl - everyone thinks she has so much confidence but really she is just as insecure as the next girl.

The book takes an unexpected turn and I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

Grade school problems throughout

Wow. This was so immature and full of drama fabricated by a boy crazy self obsessed teen that I had to make myself finish just to review. Surely, I thought, they will mature when they reach college but alas, this was not the case. Also, there were so many flashbacks and flash forwards that I lost count of he timing. I know I may be in my 40s, but I have enjoyed my share of younger oriented books but I would rather relive my hormonal teen years than listen to this again!
I will say the narrator did a fine job.

Not For Me

I got this book via audiobook boom. This book was a hot mess and is named very well. I don't remember ever being that big of a mess but my memory may be flawed. This was a very humorous book for me. The narration added to the humor.

Hot Mess is right!

Would you listen to Hot Mess again? Why?

Any additional comments?

OK first of all this is not my age group but because I have adopted a number of people in this age group I can completely relate to this book. They are a crazy tight group of misfits that fit together too well and have a blast. The relationships are completely free and young and controlled by technology and they are a blast. There is so much going on it's like spin the bottle but is an enjoyable read with characters you can relate too. It is an easy light read and enjoyable by audio as well as reading it yourself. While I could relate to the book it is probably safe to say that it would be more enjoyable for someone not 20 yrs plus over the age group in this story.

This is the first I have read from this author and I can hardly wait to see what she brings us next.

Hot Mess Drama

Oh wow... This book really surprises me in a good way.
At first I have a doubt, because I got it in audiobook and I've tried audiobook before and I think it's not my thing, so I'm afraid I won't like it. But I'm so totally wrong, I ended up loving this book.

Okay let's talk about this book.
This book is all about drama that revolves around Ana the drama queen, she's so obsessed with boys, so clingy, never listen to anyone, she's a girl with a lot of insecurities, everywhere she goes there's always drama happening.

Reading this book is like watching drama TV series. Yup we got that juvenile delinquency, jealousy, sex, drug, booze, parties and plenty of drama.
There's so many characters here, which means there's many plots, it's a hot mess I know, but I'm okay with it, because I kind of fond with those characters, with all their teenage problems. This book also got some sad moments, especially with Trevor's incident, that reminds me that drug is a very dangerous thing and bring only bad things for the user and people around them.
The jumping between presents and pasts is a bit bothering me, but because I'm so immersed in the drama, in the end I really enjoy it.

If you're looking for drama, you have to try this one.

Perfect voice for the drama!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I already read Hot Mess before, but hearing it was completely different! The female's voice for Anna was perfect for her and I love how she made me feel that I was personally getting to know the character. Anna has so much going on in this book and sometimes it was not always a good thing. She wasn't always likeable and I didn't always agree with the choices she made, but that was who she was. This book has definitely made me a fan of audio books now...as this is my first audio listen. I really enjoyed it!

What does Ramona Master bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I felt with her voice, that she really encompassed who Anna was and her personality. She made me feel that I got to know Anna on a deeper level than just reading the book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I don't want to spoil the book, but the tragedy that occurs was done very well. I was very shocked when I read this and wasn't expecting it. It was portrayed extremely well with the audio.

Truly a Hot mess

Would you consider the audio edition of Hot Mess to be better than the print version?

I found this book to be a fun listen. There was lots of drama and diva tendencies from the characters I found it to be very enjoyable. The author found a way to capture many different point of view and the narrator did a great job distinguishing between them all.

May not for everyone but a good listen

holy - I didn't expect that. this book was a hot mess and it kind of reminded me of ... Me. (insert shocked face Mojito) I used to be a hot mess back in the day now I'm just an older version of that. I guess just the Mess part, lol. Ramona Master does an incredible job narrating of course. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

whew!dis tew much lol

wasn't expecting to empathize with anna as much as I did. Anna was a hot mess but to be honest, a lot of women can relate to her than we will admit. i loved her ripped jeans pink sweaters and messy buns. i was devistated toward the end. without making this a spoiler alert i will say that i wasnt expecting for that to happen. i listened to this the same day i got it and finished it. That voice was awesome btw!
