the supporting characters made the story bareable

Aisling is simply unlikable. silly, whiney, needy, obstinate. She in after 3 previous stories still doesn't listen and then ends up in a situation she has to fret over and somehow survive.
I listen for the other characters who make the story interesting. I loved Paula and she took some of the burden off of Jim to be the "comic relief".
I hope Aisling's presence is kept to a minimum in the rest of the Sept series.
I like Drake, but cringed each time Aisling described him, his fire or his skills in the bedroom . I skipped the sex scenes as much as possible. There was no chemistry between these two characters.
And I wish someone would teach her what being a mate, a guardian and a demon lord meant. Her constantly not knowing rules or what those things mean was over done. And by her last book, she still barely knew more than she did in books 1 & 2. ...smh
Random -
Why was Aisling surprised that she couldn't hear green Sept business? She was now seen as mate to the blue wyvern. Her "feelings" being hurt didn't make sense. Her "Scarlet O'hara" rant was ridiculous. She also continued with the name calling. No other character resorted to doing that in any of the books.
the wedding was stopped yet again in the last 30 minutes of the story. stopped as drake was putting on her ring....really? And she knew Jim couldn't die. What was that scene about? needless to say after 4 books i'm over Ms. Aisling Gray. I wanted to like this character, but just couldn't.

As far as narration goes, I kept picturing an older woman, a smoker . Sorry

laugh out loud

I love this series! I laughed out loud from book 1 through this one. The narrator is the BEST! I thought there was a different person reading for the different characters! She does accents better than any other reader i've heard! If you like light hearted entertainment and a sexy lead man you will like this series.

new twist on supernatural books

I love supernatural books and this one is a nice break from just vampires and werewolves. The whole dragon storyline is fantastic and I'm hooked now!

There are no rules - except where convenient

Well, at least the series closes better than the previous book. The narrator stepped back from the mic, so hardly any slurping and smacking distracted from her otherwise fun, larger than life narration. Aisling and Drake finally settle in as a united couple, with each supporting each other against their various challenges. And, demon-dog Jim continued to steal the show, upping his snide remarks to ruthless in making fun of Aisling’s airheaded tendency to jump first and ask questions second.

Unfortunately, we’re four books in and Aisling is still a clueless bimbo. For instance, she arrives at a super secret lair, so secret that she has to leave most of her team behind, and then barrels forward without backup. Or, she just accepts when her team says they’ll only answer three questions about whatever the samhill is going on … because dragon rules? Perhaps Aisling’s silliness can be blamed on her pregnancy, but there are other loopy plots involving the not-pregnant folks around her. For instance, dragon duels are silly and nonsensical, with duels won by he who cheated best … and then later revoked simply by the loser declaring himself the victor. By the final confrontation, I stopped trying to make sense of the ever changing rules of the dragons, demons, and Guardians. I guess that’s why I just accepted that Aisling, without ever being trained to do so, magically saves the day.

If you listen to these just for the running gags and comedy schticks, it’s a fun, mindless listen. If you want better romance or action to go with the comedy, this will let you down. Also, there’s a lot of teasing and smoldering, but little actual nooky scenes, so if you were hoping for bed play like in the first books, that too will disappoint you here.

Good Triumphs

I know I've said this before but I really like this series. All story lines were wrapped up with Katie's usual sense of humor. I even shed a few tears but all turned out right by the final words. This series can continue and I understand that all of the characters in the Guardian series show up in the Silver Dragon series. So I am off to hear Gabriel's story next.

crazy wacky supernatural

Drake goes missing on his wedding day and Aisling has to find and rescue him. And herself. And again. And again. What a role reversal and all the usual craziness that are Aisling’s lot in life. She’s sick and tired of being bullied and used. She’s tired of being a Prince of Abaddon; and being Proscribed; and being Fiat’s temporary mate; and the Red Dragons attacking… And Aisling puts all that frustration and her love of obscure texts to good use in the final chapter. Thus ends this primary series arc and sets up a new one.
I still think that Ms Rosenblat has a good voice for narration but she sounds way too mature older woman for this character and storyline. Giving credit where it’s due: she does a great performance for the demon Efrijim and Aisling’s stepmother Paula.

Holy Smokes!

This was my favorite of all the AG books! I just love Aisling, Drake, and (especially) Jim! I’m hoping that they show up in the other books. Thanks Katie!

Hells Bells

So the story can continue but she left it off at a good point in the book, one where you can fill in the blanks to make up however you want it.Glad Aisling and Drake finally got married and Efrijim got himself”a bigger package”with his new doggie body. Was fun listening to the series.
