Publisher's summary

From USA Today best-selling Author, C. L. Stone, listen to Hoax, the fifth book in The Academy Scarab Beetle Series.

Someone tried to kill Kayli Winchester. That someone is going to pay.

After going overboard and nearly drowning, Kayli regroups and joins Axel, Corey, Brandon, Marc, and Raven back on board the Lucienda. This time, she's brought reinforcements. Liam and Henry join the team in an all-out hunt for a killer. It can't be too hard; there's only so many places to hide on a cruise ship. But the number of suspects is climbing.

Tensions are high, and everyone is on alert, but along the way, there's way too many distractions - very hot distractions. Kayli's done hiding her feelings. She's showing her hand, come what may. She's never held back before she met this team - why start now?

But when one of their team members disappears, all clues point to mutiny. Is the team going to fracture because of her? Did someone throw her overboard because of jealousy?

Kayli refuses to believe it, but she'll have to provide proof before the murderer finds out she's still alive and comes back to complete the job.

Deadly Cruise part 2

This book starts where Accessory left off. After surviving being thrown overboard Kayli and Blake return to the boat to find out who tried to kill them and why.

With reinforcements in the shape of Liam and Henry joining in to hunt a killer everyone is a suspect including Axel and the guys.

Questions abound! Is the team going to fracture because of her? Did someone throw her overboard because of jealousy?
Can she remain with the team and guys she cares deeply about or will the Academy put a stop to it.

Tensions are high, and everyone is on alert. Everybody needs to work together to stop a murderer. Sacrifices will need to be made before the team can look to the future.

A good end to the Scarab Beetle series for now I still want to know what has happened to Will and how Kayli, Axel and the team will make their relationship work in the long run. Come on CL finish the story....

Warning-This is not the final book in the series

I thought this would be the final book in the series as the audible release was so long ago but unfortunately it’s not. According the the authors website there is another book called Tempest being released December 2019 so who knows when the audible release will be. I hate it when authors take so long in between books. By the time the next book comes out on audible I will have long forgot about this series. In regards to this book in particular it’s the best one in the series. Hopefully the next book is the last as we still have no idea what happened to Will and her relationship with the guys was just heating up. Would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t for the not knowing there is yet another book...

Hoax of the Academy series

I hated this book! Here's a 19 year old child playing a woman with all the men in her life who have great bodies. Where was the story of this book? And where the heck is the ending? This isn't good enough to spend $20 just to have to spend another $20 and never really read a story. Forget this, the Academy series is NOT worth the money or any more of my time!!

ONLY plus is narration!!

I trudged through the 1st, skipped to 4-5 and I'm done!!

I guess I don't understand the whole "new adult" genre. This series was entirely juvenile and a VERY sad attempt at romance, character development, mystery, plot etc.

Where to start with all the issue's with these books? The MC is the poster child of a tease! I have no idea how old she's supposed to be but based on the character's around her she's still in teens and so are they. Trust me when I say, they act like it! The author trying to pass her off as some kind of kick ass, jaded, smart irresistible temptress is laughable, not to mention the instantaneous feelings within a day of knowing each other. I didn’t find one thing likable about her. She uses ALL THE MEN around her to get her way and continually lies to all of them not to mention, leads them on. I'd have no issue with her getting with all the men in the world but be honest about it and stop teasing them all because you're SELFISH and don't want them to leave you. She gives women a bad name, Period!!

The constant back and forth with her feelings was ridiculous! This is the worst RH ever not to mention the absurdity of teens in a RH theme.

The dialogue was that of prepubescent teens that have no clue about sex.

I understand this is fiction but even fiction has to have some semblance of real life which this does not!! I can't even buy the entire "academy " organization wannabe spies. I could better buy this if SpongeBob was the head of this organization!

The 5, 4 and even 3 star reviewers are either paid reviewers trying to pump sales for the author or teenagers that have no concept of how adults really act in life.

I could go on but I'm not going to waste my time more than I have, which I'm doing so other people will actually read a REAL review. So to end, I'll never pick up anything else by this "author" that doesn't even understand the difference between FLIRTING vs doing everything with everyone save actual intercourse!! Sorry, but NO female let alone a teenager acts like an inexperienced virgin one second and then an experienced prostitute in the next. No condoms used either, which is just so wrong when you're with multiple people!

One thing Kayli was actually right about, she doesn't deserve any of them, especially Blake!
