Publisher's summary

For Corva Collier, life as a mail-order bride in the quirky town of Haskell, Wyoming is her last chance for escape. She longs for a peaceful life away from the darkness of her past where she can create the paintings that are close to her heart, and where she hopes she can grow to love her husband.

But how do you love a man who was persuaded to marry you against his will?

Franklin Haskell never planned to marry. What woman would want a man who was crippled due to his own arrogance? But when he is offered the chance to help a woman in crisis, he agrees to wed. Corva is so much more than he expected, and when a baseball game gives her the chance to shine, he loses his heart.

But how do you tell a woman you love her when she deserves so much better?

The game of love has never been so hard to play, or so worth winning.

Narration was awful!!

Story was good. The author should demand a different Narrator. Read the headline. Enough said. #tagsgiving #sweepstakes #UnreliableNarrator

Nice story narrator not so much

I think I would have enjoyed this more had I read it. The narrator really took away from the story. It has a nice plot, great characters. However I would have liked to have seen if anything happen to the nasty girls and their father. It might be in the future stories in this series but I see the same narrator is doing book 2, I won't be buying it. I thought the story was good, the characters great and the spice was nice. I enjoyed the danger but thought the misunderstanding a little off.

The narrator sounded like she was talking to a very young child. She needs to speed up a little and put some feeling into the story. She took away from the story and I almost put it down a few times and just bought the book. There were no repeating of words, no background noise and no volume changes but she took to long at times pausing and pausing where it was not needed. I did like some of her character voices and others not so much.

Hearing really made it come to life

What did you love best about His Perfect Bride?

I really loved the redeemed Franklin.

What was one of the most memorable moments of His Perfect Bride?

The baseball game that Corva played in.

Which character – as performed by Aundrea Mitchell – was your favorite?

Though I hated the voice, I would say Vivian, because she nailed how she sounded in my head. So the voice was perfect.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me nervous at the fire.

Why does every sentence/comment end sounding like an exclamation?!?!

I couldn't get past the fact that every statement sounded like the H&h were surprised! Story was okay, but next time I see THIS narrator I will opt to READ the book!!!

Corva and Franklin

Would you consider the audio edition of His Perfect Bride to be better than the print version?

Yes and no. Yes, because the narrator gave a fantastic rendition of the story. No, because the story is very well written and a joy to sit and read.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Corva was my favorite character. She overcame all trials which came her way and became a much stronger person.

Which scene was your favorite?

The baseball game.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Franklin and Corva competed as one in the game.

Any additional comments?

(I was given a copy of the audiobook from the author for a review.)

Just a great serious

Just a great series that you have to listen to fun beginning to the end and every book from first one to the last the story just keep building, but the standalone great one for writing

Needs different narrator

I believe this was a good story but not absolutely sure. It was hard to get a good feel for the characters because of the narration. She probably should consider sticking to more upbeat or kids/young teen books. She might also want to read the book a few times before narrating it. It seemed there were incorrect inflections and 'tone of voice' through the whole book. The only thing worse was when she tried to drop her voice to sound like a man. That was awful.

His prefect bride

Story dull. Narrator reading to 6yr olds. Do not waste your time or money. Not worth it

Good Story Ruined by Narration

The story was a sweet and a bit sexy mail order bride story. That being stated, the narrator was horrid. If I could have given the narration zero stars, I would have. The narrator’s delivery was choppy and weird. Where did they find this woman?
