Publisher's summary

She shouldn't be here. She can't even recall how she got here.

Except for the dream. Mya Boyle remembers the dream. She knows it's somehow connected to her past, her present and the future.

Mya woke one morning in a field, a stag grazing close by as if it didn't even notice her. She lay bare, like a babe from the womb, except for a wool blanket wrapped around her tightly.

A grown woman with no memory, no family, no money, nothing. Kayden McGregor found her while hunting. He was after the stag and nearly shot her with his arrow instead. Unable to leave her to the wolves of his clan, he took her to his home.

He resents her. She can't bear to look at him. Or stop herself from staring when he doesn't notice. Trapped, and yet somehow destined to be together.

Remember enough of the past...and you may be able to control your future.

worst attempt at Scottish accent

the reading was either stilted and sounded very fake and forced or felt rushed. And the attempt at a Scottish accent was one of the worst I've ever heard. It doesn't sound Scottish or British at all. It sounds like strange stilted speech.

Narrator should not try Scottish accent

While she has a nice voice she should not attempt accents. Her attempt sounded like a Swede one moment to become a cowboy the next and sometimes totally forgetting about an accent. The storyline was good but I didn’t think I could listen to a sequel if the narrator stays the same.

Worst fake accent EVER

This was a complete miss for me. The narrator had the worst Scottish accent I've ever heard. It was so bad there was no way I could take this seriously. I will not be continuing this series. Cliffhanger or not.

If you can't do an accent-

Don't do the accent!! Interesting take on time travel romance, part of a longer story, told in snippets of time. A little hard to follow. Mostly hot sex.

Eh

I made it to chapter 5, and just couldn't go any further. She wakes up naked and with no memories? I'd assume that she'd be terrified, but it doesn't take long before she's having sexual fantasy about the grumpy Highlander who's helping her, instead of focusing on her predicament. It just doesn't scream readable plot to me.

I do like a little smut with a plot, not a little bit of plot with a whole lot of smut. So this was definitely not going in the right direction for me.

In regards to the narrator performance, I just couldn't get past the flat, monotone voice. Is Mya supposed to speak with an American accent? Wouldn't that have been something immediately pointed-out as strange? And her male Scottish accent was quite bad. The writing can also be blamed for Kayden's character coming off as completely false, as the terms he used weren't true to the era or region.

Maybe it would have gotten better...? But I don't have the patience to keep going. I gave it 3 stars instead of 2 for that reason.

enjoyable story, not so great performance

I enjoyed the story itself, but could not get into Caiden's character. the voice narration for him needed much improvement. he did not sound Scottish and the horrible attempt of the accent made him sound old, sometimes southern, but never rugged handsome. Hopefully the next book in the series changes the narrator.

Disappointing

This story had a lot of promise. Heroine with amnesia, possibly out of her own time. But the narrator's awful attempt at a Scottish accent came across as Norwegian and was very distracting. Then to have it end in a cliffhanger! I HATE THAT!!! I would rather be informed at the outset that a story is not complete in itself!

Narrator awful!

Thru the new Plus Catalog I was trying to give author Lexi Timms, new to me, a chance. Unable to. I listened to the sample of Stacy Hinkle's performance. Ok, I thought but she didn't use any character other than a females. I try to give audio books a chance regardless of the reviews. But the reviews for this narrator is spot on. Stacy Hinkle doesn't do a man's voice very good, let alone an accent. What were they thinking?! Not worth a credit,

Loved it!

I enjoyed all of it, it was a great story! I was sucked in at the very beginning and couldn't wait to get back to listening whenever I had to stop.

Horrible Narration

I feel like I might have been able to finish the book if it weren’t for the terrible “Scottish” accent. It was really anything but close to sounding Scottish.
After reading the other summaries of the rest of the series, it sounds like an interesting take on lovers finding each other through the ages. However, I would recommend reading the book(s) and not listening.
