Publisher's summary

Margaret Stephens has her sights set on marrying a man with a promising future. Nicholas Alexander is definitely not that man. His boyish charm isn't going to sidetrack her; not that he appears to want to. Nick's judgmental manner irks her because he doesn't know her, not well enough to condemn her anyway.

Nicholas has seen enough gold diggers like Maggie. The purrfect little kitty who warms up to rich guys. Then when the unsuspecting bums marry them they find kitty has claws. He's already been scratched and isn't about to make the same mistake twice.

Margaret doesn't plan on ever going hungry again. A visit to the orphanage brings up a past she keeps trying to forget. To Nicholas, it's a reminder of all the things he has to be thankful for and he hopes that Margaret will come to appreciate all that she has.

Can two people from different sides of the track meet somewhere in the middle? It's a rough ride till they find out.

Loved this series

--I was given a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Susette Williams continues with this series with another enjoyable novella. First, let me say that I love the fact that she is able to create a story in an hour with well developed characters and a strong message. This one includes Maggie and Nick. Nick has been burned by his ex-wife, only after his money. He has real trust issues when it comes to women. He is attracted to Maggie, but is unsure if he wants to pursue another gold digger. Maggie has a past that has made her distrust men. Nick learns quickly that you can't always judge a book by its cover. The question is will the two be able to get over their pasts?

Listen to Allyson Voller's beautiful performance and you will find out!

I'm A Huge Fan, But Not Susette Williams Best

*****************PART OF SERIES, REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS***************

Nick is obviously interested in Maggie, but she has no interest in a man who will not provide financially to his wife and children. He doesn't seem to have a job so she is crossed him off her list

By chance they end up in an old farmhouse and Maggie recognizes a picture of her mother and biological father at their wedding. All of a sudden she has a grandfather.

Maggie has never had anything to do with her father and has no idea where he lives but suddenly he is in the local hospital with very serious conditions health concerns.

The book felt rather rushed, I know that the goal of the author (Williams) is to provide a book that one can listen to in under an 1.5 hours. But more time to link the books, so there was more time to give/add major parts of the story that were probably edited out. (Like how her grandfather found his son [her biological father] just a little while after Maggie had visited with the grandfather.)

The narrator's performance was above average and I enjoyed listening to her.

The only action in this book is a few stolen kisses. That is it, as this is a family publishing entity.

Always love her books!

As usual, Susette Williams serves up a story full of real characters in a tough situation. Nick and Maggie have both been hurt and are afraid to trust again. But God intervenes and they begin to trust again. This is another short story by Susette Williams that focuses on real life situations about second chances, forgiveness and love. Allyson Voller did a beautiful job narrating this book.

Heated Summer: Seasons of the Heart, Book 4

"This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast."

This is a clean romance between two people that have baggage from their pasts. A short story that had a quick resolution.

The narration was well done. The characters were excellently portrayed.
