Publisher's summary

After the murder of a teenage girl, a mysterious man in a black leather jacket was seen lurking near the crime scene. Investigative reporter Tessa Novak has him in her sights as the culprit.

That man was Julian Darcangelo, an undercover FBI agent working with the Denver police. He's closing in on the trail of a human trafficker and killer. Tessa's accusations could blow his cover, and he wants her off the investigation.

But just as Tessa has made Julian a target of interest, she is now a target of the killer. And as they are forced to trust each other, their physical attraction escalates as intensely as the threat from a ruthless murderer who wants to see both of them dead...

"Calling on her own experiences, reporter turned author Clare adds a realistic edge to her suspenseful writing. . . . Clare definitely seems to have found her niche." ( Romantic Times)

As always, a story that draws you in...

It is the health care provider in me that has to point out that when a captor has a victim down on the ground, then I don't know how the captor can also be putting their knee in the "solar plexus" of their victim. The solar plexus is located in the upper abdomen, an area of nerves behind the stomach protected by the spine posteriorly. Okay, enough anatomy already.

Aside from that tiny, pendantic and unimportant detail of anatomy, I love ALL of Pamela Clare' s books were the ones she wrote about the historic past. "Defiant", "Surrender", "Untamed" and my best loved "Ride the Fire" is on my bookshelf right now and has been re-read many times. Although the modern books are not my favorite, I look forward to anything this author writes. I can't help but hope she will consider more tales with the rich historical detail and vivid imagination of her first publications however.

A Man That Knows How to Work It!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

good story with a bit of mystery. Very investigative type of story line. Dialogue better than average.

What did you like best about this story?

Great reader, Kaleo Griffith....whoa what a great sexy reading voice. He is making this series.

Which scene was your favorite?

when the 3 men paint the Trim, and know how to work it. Coke commercial move over.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

our hero, is as sexy as they get. Ms Clare knows how to write 'em.

Any additional comments?

You do not have to read in order as they stand alone. The friends names link the stories, but the characters really do not. Read the summery and reviews to pick. I am getting all of them as the reader is so good.

Excellent romantic suspense novel.

This is my second Pamela Clare novel. She again wrote a compelling romantic suspense story centred around a covert and treacherous criminal investigation. Her protagonists started out as worthy opponents and she carefully developed their relationship from enemies with sizzling chemistry, to lovers. The crime(s) the hero and heroine investigated from their differing perspectives and the dangers they faced were edge-of-your-seat stuff. The love story which was passionate and respectful, flowed naturally and built with the increase in danger and suspense. The sexy times were hot and tasteful without overwhelming the story. Pamela Clare is a class act. I am very impressed by her writing.

HARD EVIDENCE is part of a series about a group of newspaper reporters. While this is book 2 of the I-Team Series, it is a stand-alone and you don’t need to read the first one to enjoy this - but I thoroughly recommend both if you love the romantic suspense genre.

I have only heard Kaleo Griffith narrate for Pamela Clare, but he is wonderful, being able to sympathetically portray the heroine, the hero and all the other characters. I loved his voice and narration style. He definitely contributed to my love of this novel.

Julian Darcangelo, well, WOW!

Would you listen to Hard Evidence again? Why?

In a heartbeat! It is worth the repeat just to get involved in hearing how Tessa and Julian met up, and fell in love, in spite of the whirlwind of crime, and terror and danger spinning around them . . .

What was one of the most memorable moments of Hard Evidence?

“Julian placed her purse in the front seat. "She's got a loaded double-deuce in her purse, Peterson, though I'm not sure she knows how to use it. And be sure to book her on one count of falsifying information on a driver's license while you're at it."

"What?" she cried. "You're just making stuff up!"

He pulled off his shades, met her gaze, saw the outrage and disbelief in her eyes. "It says you weigh one-fifteen, but i know for a fact you're not a pound under one-twenty."

Her cheeks flushed crimson. "Oooh!”

Julian has a way of getting under Tessa's skin from the git-go, and it all started with this scene . . .

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yep, you betcha, but couldn't do it-life happens, and I had to listen in bits and pieces---arrrrgghhhhh!!!

Any additional comments?

Again, kudos to Kaleo Griffith, for his top notch narration, acting ability, and his uncanny way to get each character Right, including all the secondary people as well!

Suspense and Romance

What made the experience of listening to Hard Evidence the most enjoyable?

I had read this novel a couple years ago, and immediately became a Pamela Claire fan. When I heard this was out in audio, I grabbed it. It is spine chilling, romantic and sweet and I couldn't turn it off, even though I had already read the story!

What did you like best about this story?

The growth of the relationship between Kara and Reese. It wasn't a meet and jump in bed kind of thing, although Kara and Margaritas made it close. Also the immediate acceptance of Kara's son by Reese.

What does Kaleo Griffith bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Kaleo Griffith totally brought this story to life! I could listen to him read just about anything. Looking forward to listening to the next I-Team book!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed, and felt heart racing fear, at different times. Loved the romance.

Any additional comments?

Recommend this series, and applaud Kaleo Griffith on his performance.

A little disappointing.....

Coming off the first book which I loved loved loved; I wasn't as fond of this one. The first half of the book was a little drawn out as the story was set up and because of the profound story-line, it was hard for me to engage in the romance.

The narrator was wonderful as he was in the first; definitely one of the most "sexy" male voices!!!!

White knuckled reading

Where does Hard Evidence rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Hard Evidence ranks fairly high in my opinion. Pamela Clare is a clever writer and I was thoroughly entertained from start to finish.

What other book might you compare Hard Evidence to and why?

Pamela Clare is pretty unique because she combines romance with action and suspense. It's like a cross between Lee Child and Sylvia Day.

Have you listened to any of Kaleo Griffith’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Absolutely, I can't get enough of his voice. Normally I'd get creeped out during the sex scenes but this guy is good. Not to mention I was pleasantly surprised when I Googled his picture, hunkyness!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I was fortunate enough to have an entire day to listen to this book at work. If anything it was over too soon.
