Publisher's summary

At a boxing gym in Chicago, Mary Monahan accidentally knocks out the most handsome man she's ever met. After she wakes him up with a few slaps and some smelling salts, the very first thing he does is ask her out for ribs and beer. His name is Jimmy. He looks like a Gillette model. And he's just too hunky to resist.

Jimmy "The Falcon" Falconi is mystified that Mary has absolutely no idea who he is. Mystified and refreshed. He is, after all, not your everyday NFL quarterback. He shops at Costco, has a soft spot for Pinterest, and is in the midst of an epic losing streak.

Jimmy falls for Mary fast and hard, the way he does everything - balls out and like it's fourth and long. And he realizes he's finally met his match. That stamina he's so proud of? Doesn't stand a chance against her Kegels.

But what they don't know is she's also his new physical therapist, recently hired by the Bears to work on his rotator cuff...and groin injury. If she can't help him, he'll be traded faster than they can say "offensive penetration". Contains mature themes.

Baller vs. Butterball (you'll see lol)

Listened to this one on Audible and really enjoyed the performances given by Sean Crisden and Jillian Macie. I laughed out loud so many times. The story was interesting sprinkled with a little emotional angst and a twist. Not to mention the down and dirty delivered by a sexy, sweet, Quarterback. Very light read/listen. Perfect companion for a rainy day doing chores. Made me feel like I had friends keeping me company. The kind of friends that always put a smile on your face and make you feel like you're getting away with something whenever you hang together. If you're looking to be entertained, this should hit the spot perfectly. I believe it's my favorite Sean Crisden narration to date!! Plain simple fun!!

Oh Jimmy you`re so fine.

Big fan of Nicole Rendell`s books so I was very excited to listen to her first audiobook.
Jillian Macie portrayed Mary perfectly for me, Sean has one of the loveliest, deepest and sexy voice`s I have heard in a while. If you want a love story with lots of deep and passionate moments, and let’s not forget smoking hot sex scenes look no further.

Surprising sports romance.

A sort of instalove sports romance revolving around a meet-lust knockout style at a boxing gym. Yes, I said that. I actually quite enjoyed the first third to half of this book.

Jimmy is an aging NFL QB and Mary is a physical therapist. When they meet, sparks fly. The conversation is easy and the talk dirty when they get together. I liked that Mary wasn’t into sports. I also liked that Jimmy didn’t overly try to impress her.

The second half or so of the book, the steam factor went down and the drama factor went up. I didn’t mind it as much, but that first half was super hot! I sort of wish that continued.

The drama just didn’t have the momentum. The HEA was a nice bow. Maybe I just wanted more Frankie Knuckles.

Sean Crisden was awesome. I felt like he really was Jimmy. Jillian Macie was good as well. A pretty good narration.

I did this as a read and listen whispersync.

Stop!!!

I lasted about 5 hours.

I had to stop when Mary gets upset over a comment Jimmy's a-hole brother made. So she Googles him. Hello Mary...the man is a hot, professional athlete with some money. Of course he has had lady friends in the past. Stop acting so outraged.

I stopped there. Couldn't take her anymore.

HAWT!

This was sooo funny, spontaneous barks of laughter are guaranteed so maybe don’t listen to this in a public place where people might think you are loony. Mostly, this was soooo HAWT! that again you may not want to listen to this where strangers might see you blush, or become breathy, or neeedy (spelling mistake on purpose), and you might melt into your seat. Make sure the audio cannot be heard by others, just to spare them the embarrassment of envy… It is soooo gooood.

The narrators of the audible version of this book made it come ALIVE! My hat goes off to narrator Jillian Macie who made Mary such a likeable, admirable heroine; and OMG to narrator Sean Crisden who as the voice of Jimmy seduced Mary (and ME!!!) with his ahhmazing voice characterisation through the alpha moments, the vulnerable moments, the tender ones and the incredible erotic moments. Hatchiwawa! Of course, thanks go to the author first of all.

I thoroughly enjoyed the audible experience of this book. At first it took me a while to get used to the voices, especially the voice of Jimmy, but I adjusted and then loved him. This is despite the fact that he has sex on the brain and uses the F word as a noun, adjective, verb, adverb, exclamation… you get the idea. So if you can’t handle coarse language, a lot of vanilla sex with a dash of kink, then this book is not for you. If you can handle what I mention, you will really have fun and a blazing vicarious intimate experience. It’s not all about sex though, there is a lot of heart and I was very satisfied with the happy ever after in this story.

P.S. I learned so much about American football without being force-fed the information. I felt I was at the stadium in the crowd, on the field and the locker rooms. I imagine romance lovers with a love of football will find this book a treat. Funny cover, eh?

Overkill on the female narration of sex scenes

Every time she read a sex scene the female narrator would get all slow & husky with her voice. It was too much.

Great Book

This was a great book. I love the erotic parts, but more than anything I enjoyed it was just about sex. I have read those books that all the context was, was just sex, no real storyline. This was not that type of book. Yes it was erotic, but it also has a great storyline.

Excellent with one exception

Fun book that keeps your attention. Fun little twists along the way. Only thing bad about it is the numerous times that the word goddamn is used. Very disappointing:(

Cliche

It’s as if it were written by a teen girl fantasizing about being with a famous quarterback. Said quarterback is struggling and she is the solutions to his struggles (so stupid) and the way she supposedly got him to overcome his mental (oh and physical impairment because she’s his miracle PT) was so absurd, written into one of many gratuitous and uninteresting sex scenes. And lastly, the narration. I listened to it at 1.5x speed and it still drags on, the female so painfully slowly narrates it, it’s mind numbing (and she’s even slower doing his lines) and the male narrator has a nice voice, for a sci fi novel or something where the character doesn’t have to sounds sexy, he’s too fatherly and clerical sounding. This wasn’t worth the discounted $4 price it was so incredibly stupid, thoughtless, unoriginal and full of cliches. Oh, and why all the mentions of Costco and the show How It’s Made and also Stranger Things? I’d never read this writer again.
